Hi! Welcome to my Reef Adventure😊 Subscribe for a engaging journey!🐠❤️
The goal of this channel is to take you with me on my Reefing Journey. I want to show everything the reefing hobby has to offer. So YES also the bad and annoying side! 🐠 I post every week an update of my Reef Tank a Reefer 425. Also i upload a more informative video every week about fish and coral specie, unboxings, equipment reviews and more!
Please follow or subscribe if you are interested to follow my Reefing journey!
A month has already passed so it is time for a new update! I see the quality of the video isn’t that great so i’m trying to improve it in the coming videos. Enjoy😊
I wouldnt call a yellow tang a beginner fish. The reason is most beginners are not willing to quarantine and without that a tang will most likely stress at some point and kill most of ita tank mates with ich. Saltwater fish (with a few exceptions) need to be quarantined in copper and antibiotics for 4 weeks and onserved for 2 additional weeks before they go into your display tank.
I understand your opinion. I don’t quarantine my own fish because i know my lfs does it for me. But quarantine is always the best way before introducing new fish in your tank.
@@ReefAdventure I can appreciate that, but there are very few lfs that quarantine for 6 weeks before selling the fish. Most are sold within a few weeks or less of being in the store. The lfs may have low levels of copper in the tank but the short duration doesn't guarantee a pest free fish
@@ReefAdventure Ja precies, heb 't besteld, komt morgen binnen. Dat het een kinderding is maakt niet uit, als je het maar kan zien haha! Thanks man, komt uiteindelijk wel goed.
I have a favia that I've never seen anyone have except a few local reefers. It was coined Monsters Inc. Its green with lime green ring around an orangish pink center. Absolutely stunning piece.
Sorry for the late response, I was busy studying so I missed this video! I have a pair of younger clowns, one is a snowflake, and the other a black occy. I love how they contrast each other, and that they are both friends with my royal gramma! (26g Red Sea Max Nano - Peninsula). Hopefully adding a BTA soon, just nervous haha
Thankyou for supporting the channel❤️ great choice for the pair of clowns! Were they already a pair when you got them? I’m sure your BTA will be fine 😊
@@ReefAdventure Of course, glad I found it in the first place - I can say I’m from day 1 when you hit 100k 😂 As for the clowns, they were not! Luckily, the black occy was larger and my snowflake submitted to her pretty quickly, so no harm to either of them! And yes, maybe you’re right on the BTA. I just want to make sure I put in enough research before pulling the trigger 😅
@@king-asher that would be amazing but i just let the channel grow by its own! I love to make informative and easy to watch content. Variation is key for me. And for the clowns: glad they are getting along together. Happy for them! Hopefully they will host their BTA soon when you add one ;)
After quarantining my Rusty Dwarf Angel for 3 months, I put him in my 125 and withing 3 hours some of his fins are nipped and he has some white spots. What are stress spots? Should I take him out? I have never had ick in my tank.
What are your current inhabitants in the tank? Sounds like a fish is showing territorial behavior. Those white spots could be ick. I would recommend to post this case on reef2reef. That way you can get the help you need.
I think it was territorial behavior. After 24 hours, his wounds healed. No white spots after 3 days of being in the tank. I wonder if it was sand that stuck to it. I'm sure the next few days will make it clear. Thanks. @@ReefAdventure
Hi David, great question! The rock i use is from an established tank and is around 1.5 years old. There is always a small cycling fase when you start a reef tank but because of the rock, it wasn’t that big. But that is why i want to fight the dino’s, there isn’t a real ugly phase 😊
I keep Centropyge argi in my mixed reef, i notice less polyp extension on sps in the day time, but nothing harmful to the corals. She picks and cleans all day long on the rocks and sleeps in her selected cave.
Certain species of the dwarf angelfish are more reefsave then others. And there is also a difference on specimen level ofcourse. For example, Argi and flame angel are bit more reefsave then a bi color. But they still can go rogue in your aquarium if you are unlucky. So seems you have a good boy in your tank haha
@@ReefAdventure she has been amazing, ate pellet and flake food on day one of bringing her home. I feed multiple times a day and made sure to add this fish last. I hope she stays this way, and doesn't go rogue. I've always wanted C. argi in my eef, the pugnaciousness and quirky personality of them is why I love them. If that means I don't keep acans or zoas I can live with that.
Important thing I need to mention: I made the video before i made the thumbnail 😅 So when i searched for a thumbnail, i found this wrasse. The wrasse is a cirrhilabrus lineatus! It just sometimes happens that after making the video, there are always things that pop up in my head, and i should have mentioned it in the video. So yes, the wrasse should definitely be in the top 3 of this video❤
Good question! I made the video before i made the thumbnail. So when i searched for a thumbnail, i found this wrasse. And after making the video, there are always things that popped up in my head, and i should have mentioned in the video (like wrasses). The wrasse is a cirrhilabrus lineatus!
One word of advice, slow it down. You’re doing too many things, too quickly. A 2 month old tank shouldn’t be dealing with high phosphates already. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Slow it down and enjoy the journey!
I know! The high phosphates is my own fault. I added to much phosphate+ in the tank. It was always around 0.03 but my torch didn’t like it and when it was around 0.08 it looked way better. But it got a bit to high.
Let the man do what he wants with his tank I set my saltwater aquarium up around the same time as him in February and I have similar progress plenty of livestock and rock work and everything is going fine , I am sure he has done his research let him be not everyone has to do things exactly the same , I know you mean well but it's the way you say things in a demanding way.
You guys both have a point. If i didn’t have established rock in my tank, i wouldn’t have added so much livestock soon. Patience is key. Thankyou both for the tips and the support! Happy reefing and have a nice weekend😊🐠❤️
I’m really amazed by the growth of this channel in just 2 months! So really really thankyou to everyone that watches and supports this channel!!🙏🏻😊 I wish you all a great weekend and happy Reefing 🐠❤️
@@ReefAdventure they have great personalities. They're beautiful. Too bad they're rich magnets. If I ever built another salt water tank, it would be 200 gallons and a herd of Cowfish.
@ReefAdventure sadly you can't put cows in a reef tank. Cows are rich 🧲 🧲. Unless you want to quarantine them monthly. 200 gallons, 8 cows, 8 rocks and watch them hover all around the tank.
They are picky eaters at the beginning. The fish won’t take prepared foods easily. But after a while they will start eating frozen food, nori, clams and foods enriched with sponges.
Hahaha yeah that’s a great idea!😂 i thought i don’t have to add extra saltwater because it was cycling through the UV. But now you say it… i see the light😂😂
@@ReefAdventure lol I’m just messing with you. But ya, just add some more salt water to bring the level up and when you finally take the UV off, just take some out to bring the level back down.
Maybe take the doser off the tank and put it by your WiFi box see if it will connect..if it does something on the tank is interfering with it..also try the ap network setting if you haven’t already.the little white guys are spirorbid worms..they get on everything but quite harmless
