(A little about me) My name is Bre. I took two years of small engine repair at the local college. When I left school, I fell into a wonderful job at a local small engine shop where I worked the counter for a couple years. In 2010 my husband and I opened up our own small engine shop in central Arkansas where I am able to work alongside my family and best friends. We see over 2,000 pieces of equipment every year, and answer 1,000's of small engine questions. Hopefully, my experience I share, will save you Time, Money and Frustration in the future!
Although very informative, these videos are for entertainment purposes. Please use all possible safety precautions when repairing and operating your small engine equipment.

Thank God you’re a real human being with an actual heart to help your fellow man/woman. Too many money grabbers creating chaos for the rest of us humans with souls.
Cub cadet lt50 for several years now, some tweeker had it brand new in their garage for 500 bux.. so its been a great unit..lol.. 3 blade with 50" cut..kohler 700.. 🤷♀️
Sorry but, I got two, Briggs engines, and both have had the camshafts malfunction, and when they broke, it took out the balancers, broke the gear on the crank, and destroyed the govoner, busted the blocks. Had to replace both engines. Never low on oil. One engine was a 2011 model, and the other was a 2023. Both were identical junk, built the same way, with the same inferior parts. Good advice, get you an old john deere 50 years old with a kohler if you want dependability. Leave the new junk and pretty fancy paint jobs on the porch. I have a 312 a 314 a 214 and a 110 john deeres. They are still mowing grass, 50 years.
When you use your arms that way you won't last. And you won't be able to do anything above your chest. Just FYI. So let the"guys" wreck themselves, don't fall for the macho games.
Hi. I have a quick question off the subject of this video. Sorry, but I have a stihl fs56rc trimmer. There is no grease fitting for the gear head. Do I still need to grease it? I have seen some how to videos, but wanted to ckeck with you first. Thank you !
Loved this video, now I know how to verify if my oil pump is working and how to fix it if not. I don't see the oil holes on my bar. Do all bars have those? Thanks for all the great videos. I love all the great instructions you provide.
I worked on small engines practically all my life. (I'm 74 years old). I really enjoyed watching everything you've done. One reason is you are blessed with common sense. I hope that you get a large enough following to be influencenìal in how machines are made. I realize that all machines have a certain amount of built-in planned obselessence but they are too expensive to be designed poorly and made of crap.
Thank you so much! I have a Stihl trimmer that's about 20 years old I'm still going strong. I brought it all the way from Florida to Oregon. The head recently broke and I found your video and ordered the head you recommended and replaced it super fast.
Tip for thag stipid gas can either buy an old school spout and put that on there or the actual tip use a couple zip ties around that green part that you have to depress
The only place I’ve seen around where I am that has ethanol free gas only has it on two pumps and they have separate blue pumps if you chose that kind similar to how it works if you get diesel
Hey chickanic. We have this mower. We have had it for 2 1/2 months. Battery is always low and will not start the mower without being put on a charger every time. Can you tell me where the voltage regulator on the tb 30 is?? I have a feeling that is the issue. No one at troy Built can help. They won't even answer the phone!!! Useless customer service. Thanks
Thank you so much for confirming this with me. I just bought one of these engines and my spider senses was tinkling when I read this. I thought that the only way this would work is if the engine was designed to burn through a lot of oil. Yep, this is not about longevity anymore, it is about profit. I will change my oil by tilting it on its side like you showed in your video. God bless you richly for taking the time to highlight this marketing wickedness, Blessings !!!!!
I have the 54" zt avenger absolutely my favorite mower I have owned the Kawasaki engine does seem to have a higher rpm than the kohler if you can tell me if I'm right but love my bad boy
I was guaranteed my Walmart Weedeater wouldn't last more than 3 years and I'm going on 12 years with it know... I've run nothing but trufuel since I bought it
i have a 4 stroke moped that uses octane 90 or above and the carbs get ruined because of the ethanol. I learned show to separate the ethanol from gas which is rather easy. its great to separate the ethanol for the small motors
Since BS has replaced flathead 3.5HP engine with brittle crackcase ohv I've decided to go with Chinese Loncin engines. Considering price and quality it's much better choice. Many good European producers install Loncin engines with their sticker.
Didn't know this was even a thing. Reminds me I should give my old briggs a tune up though. It was at least 20 years old when it was given to me and have owned for closing in on 20 yrs. Have change the plug and filter a couple times and the muffler once since I've had it. Usually starts on the second pull even after sitting all winter. Was like six times last time I used it so probably due for another plug and filter.
I learned this on my own. Every year -no start or start-putt putt and die. Took the carburetor apart and found water. Then water in the tank. Then also in the jug. Now I dump the tank first and put fresh in before trying to start. Old ancient mower carries on. I noticed that the one Petro Canada station must have water as my vehicle won't start easy and smokes black in the morning. Went to Shell and the issue went away. Starts at touching the key and doesn't rev like it's a nutcase.
When I first learned to work on mowers in the 1970's, we were taught not to start a mower without a blade. I am now in my retirement (in my 70s) and starting to tiniker with mowers again. My question is, are they designed now with a counter balanced shaft that doesn't require a blade to run properly? I ask this since you started yours without a blade. If that's the case, when did it change?
Hi my Stihl blower was not throttle and I remember your video I watched the night before so I took the exhaust screen off and cleaned it put everything back and started work like a new blower think you for the video and I ordered me a universal trimmer head to your install again thank you so much
I use an echo gt225 & I pre-cut my line pieces, because it's a speed feed. I prefer it to spool lines...had trouble with them. I use .130 line....fits snugly, but I have lots of edging and always trying to catch up on tall, thick weeds!!! Is 130 okay for my machine???? Thank you very much!!!!
Thank you for this review and all you do. I’m so scared to pull the lever$ on a riding mower. On soc.sec. and by your advice, I’m going with the John Deer…I’m going to really stretch and go for the twin cylinder one too🎯 Hey, thanks again.
