Hey!!! Me!!!! Im so glad im so known for loving Glasses 😅 they really do change my brain chemistry -- like objectively is it a masterpiece? Nah. But its funny and goofy and amazing and cute and i love the mangaka. I genuinely might order even more just to gift it 😅
I read glasses with a side of delinquent and ITS SO GOODDDD!! I am also really really enjoying Museru Kurai no Ai o Ageru- I really hope kodansha prints it physically soon bc it’s so good 🤧💖
I’m so glad you uploaded! I agree with you for your picks in for modern, and OH MY GOD YES QQ!! I really find it so refreshing on this shoujos take on romance, mental health, and action. I’m so sad that it’s ending soon, but AHHH I’m loving that everything is falling into places. As for Love, it’s an understatement, I do agree that it is a well done manga. But I think if you really reaaally think glasses with a chance of delinquent is better, I’ll trust you and get the physical on January! Honestly I think I only disagree with you with Snow White with the red hair. I think it’s just mainly a bit too “wholesome” for me lol. I think the journey of discovering your own capabilities and self worth was definitely nice to read! I think I just personally am not too interested in where the plot has been going. Oh and I suffer from severe second male lead syndrome so to see that both people are already together made me feel like a bit of a drag to read. But I still collect and love this series, just not top 5. As for the classic one, I think rose of Versailles is just too good for me, so that one is my top.
Gazing at the star next door is currently one of my fav reads! The art and the emotion it delivers is probably what I love the most about it 💜 . I'm interested in checking out Queen's Quality hearing what you've had to say about it!
What a beautiful and thoughtful video 🎉💖 So many great picks with powerful narratives and female characters!! 😩💖 My top five would be... 1. Red River 2. From Far Away 3. Yona of the Dawn 4. Natsume's Book of Friends 5. Kodocha Honorable mention: In Another World My Sister Stole My Name 🎉 I'm so excited to read more of this shojo, I've not been so captivated by a first volume in a loooooong time 😩🤌💖💖
I love From Far Away! It's one of my favorites as well! Queens Quality and Snow White with the Red Hair are still on my wishlist, but i really want to read them at some point ^^ I really enjoyed In Another World My Sister Stole my Name, and can't wait to read the next volume ♥ My top 5 Shoujo are: 1. Colette decides to die 2. Natsume's Book of Friends 3. Tales of Reincarnation of Maydare (not available in english) 4. My Happy Marriage 5. From Far Away
I loved this list so much! I’m now really annoyed at myself for not finishing Those not so sweet boys because I really enjoyed the first volume and then I just haven’t gone back to it 🙈 You’ve totally hyped me up for it now so I’ll make sure I read it soon. I really REALLY hope you’ll read Dengeki Daisy! It’s one of my all time favourite series and I think my second most reread series too❤ it’s such a great story and the series that made me decide to pick up QQ as I loved the mangaka’s style and story telling! If you do read it I hope you love it too! Great video as always 🥰
Ahhh that is such a tough one!!! I've watched the anime and it was a super faithful adaptation (with the episodes being 10 minutes long), so I think if you went with the anime you wouldn't necessarily be missing things from the manga if that makes sense? The voice acting was really good too!
Oh my goodness thank you!!! I'm so encouraged to hear that!! I laughed when editing because I did notice I "perked" up more once I started talking about villainesses! 🤣 And thank you so much! I think I should have waited one more day before filming because the next day I felt better, but I guess it was a good thing because I had the energy to edit! 😆
If they ever bring the color versions of Yona and Haikyuu over here I will be in trouble. 😂 Two 40+ volumes series that I would want to buy again! And they really need to give us those light novels. I would be happy even if it was just digital.
Yay, she’s back! So glad you and your family are doing better, girl! 💖🦄 Those colored images of Yona are STUNNING!!!!! 😍😱😍😱😍😱 Thank you so much for sharing this, I never would have seen them otherwise! I wish they’d translate the Yona light novel! The cover of that one is BEAUTIFUL!
SO MANY HUGS!!! Your words really made my day!!! MORE BEAR HUGS!! 🫂🫂🫂 And RIGHT!?! I was so excited to see it because I've never seen images of it before! Also YES!! They NEED to!!!
I'm so glad that you're feeling better!! 🎉💖🙌 Wonderful video, so many wonderful goodies out there! I wish we'd get the light novels of the manga. I would absolutely love to purchase the Yona and Nina volumes. They're is something special about reading a favorite story as a book versus a comic. Fingers crossed that they get licensed. 🤞
SAME!! Me too because I really missed this and chatting with you!!! 🫂 And ahhh thank you so much for the kind words and for watching!! 🧡 Also SAME! With how VIZ tends to publish everything connected with a manga they publish, I'm really shocked they haven't published the Yona light novels! Yona sells so well and no doubt the light novel would sell well too! Fingers crossed with you for BOTH! 🤞🤞🤞
They really are!! The struggle was real on which one to use! 😆 And oh my goodness thank you for the kind words!! I appreciate you watching and so thankful to be back too! 🥹🥹🥹
Thank you ❤ I was reading Philippians 1:8 this morning where Paul was saying talking about God's affection for us. It really hit me deep. My mom aborted 3 or my siblings and it makes me wonder why I am alive almost every day. And both of my parents only seem to want a relationship with me if I offer them some sort of benefit. I have never felt valued until I left my home. Boy that sucks to say. It's a hard fight to look past the hurt and lies to see God's truth. It's literally the only thing that gives me hope that my life is not meaningless. Thanks again, you are awesome and have helped me to feel valued. 😊
Oh my goodness thank you so so so much for the kind words!! 🥹🥹🥹 I just saw someone mention them picking up that manga and loving it! I haven't played the game before, but I wonder if I could still read and enjoy it!?
This is AMAZING to know!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! That makes me feel significantly less hesitant to check it out now! I'll also have to see if my library has it with it being one of your favorite one shots!!
Wandance is really fun! The dance is kind of hip hop/freestyle. It’s about a guy with a stutter who meets a girl dancing on her own, and he becomes inspired to try dance with her.
As always I appreciate all this work you do for us! Love to see all the great things we are getting. This month might be a bit heavy on my wallet too 😅
Ahhh you are so welcome!! It is such a joy to work on these and love seeing all the cool things we're getting too! Though I agree the wallet isn't usually happy! 😆
Hi Laura, Thanks for another brilliant top 5 wednesday. I really have enjoyed the collaborations with maeve, and getting 10 new recommendations has really gotten my tbr peaked with top quality, but in desperate need for me to read faster. I am really interested in giving the name of the mermaid princess, another read and honestly I think it's a perfect choice for this promt. My favourite adventure/travell manga Is 'Rave Master' By Hiro mashima, I believe it's currently out of print but I borrowed it from my library back when I first watched the anime adaption for fairytail and it's really good. 😊 In true fashion I also have a promt suggestion if I may. I was wondering if it would be cool to look at manga that are carried by their side characters as I feel in so many great manga especially where the protagonist isn't that likable there are so many stories with amazing sidecharcters that get swept under the rug just because of genral first impression. For example I like the manga dreamin sun but I find the story carries so much better with the comedic timing and relationship of the sied character zen than it does solely with shimana and fujiwaras relationship which is mean to be the canon focus. 🌸 Anyway thanks again. Happy wednesday xx Ellie
Hi Ellie!! I am so so so encouraged to hear you are enjoying the collab!! I 100% feel about needing to read faster because SAME! 😆 In the Name of the Mermaid Princess has really surprised me in how amazing the story is! I thought it would be a fluffy mermaid story, but has SO much heart! 🥹 And oh my goodness you are the second person I know to recently mention Rave Master and how amazing a story it is! I should look and see if my library has it! After hearing you share, I'm even MORE curious about it! 🤩 OOOOOO! I LOVE this prompt suggestion!! I will need to give this one some thought and go through my collection, but I definitely took a screenshot and will be adding it to my list! 🤩 Thank you so so so much for the manga recommendation and the prompt suggestion! You're awesome and deeply deeply thankful for your support, kind words, and for watching! 🧡🧡🧡
A Yona musical?!?! Must. Check. This. Out!!!! 😍😍😍 I’m actually watching Sailor Moon Crystal right now which is the reboot that’s closer to the manga then the ‘90s one is and it’s really good! All three seasons are actually free to watch on RU-vid, though the movies Eternal and now Cosmos (which covers the last arc of the manga, so don’t watch it yet!) are not available anywhere except Netflix which is a bummer though I’m hoping they might release them as Blu Rays someday. 🤞 All such exciting news!!!! And out of curiosity, are there any Yona fanzines?
OH MY GOODNESS YES!!! I think you would love it!! It was so beautiful and really stirred my heart!!! I hope you super enjoy it and really need to watch the other videos because this week I haven't had a chance to with traveling out of town! And no way!! That is SO cool you're watching Sailor Moon Crystal!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Thank you for sharing all this because I didn't realize the movies cover the last arc of the manga! 😲😲😲 Duly noted to not try the movies yet! LOL! Also that is a bummer they're only on Netflix! That I know of there is no Yona fan zine, but I confess that two years I wrote down an in-depth plan/list of a fanzine to create one! 😆 I even reached out to an editing friend and a graphic design friend about if they would be willing to help bring it to life, but the timing ended up not working for any three of us. 😭 My hope is to one day see it come to reality and have kept those notes in a special place ever since! 🥹
Just watched the practice video for Wandance!!!! Super excited!!!! I have enjoyed reading the series! But to see the dances coming to life will be amazing 🤩
Oh my goodness, RIGHT?! 🤩🤩🤩 I think you read the manga? Do you feel the dancing is easy to follow? Or maybe the question is, should I go ahead and try the manga before the anime airs? 😆
I've read most of What It Means to be You. That first half made me cry quite a bit. Thankfully the last stretch exemplifies how much the leads have grown together.
Oh my goodness, I've been keeping up with it and I've already cried too! But I really really love when they swap bodies and see the struggles of the other and how the title really comes to life in those moments! Thank you for sharing, especially about the end! Right now its been my favorite manhwa read this month and excited to read more even if I feel my heart is being shredded in the process! 😆😭
I only just realized kodansha is who licensed “Love, that’s an understatement” and I am DESPERATE for a physical release in that. I read them free digitally on my library but I am not willing to pay for them knowing I want the physical 😭
OH MY GOODNESS SAME!!!! 😭😭😭 It is my number one most wanted physical license at this point! I've emailed Kodansha and filled out the form saying how I've bought them digitally (got them when they were on sale and had Amazon credit) and will totally rebuy them physically if they print them! Hoping for the both of us that they will eventually license it physically!!
Yen Press: 🎻🎶🔥🔥 Seven Seas: 🎷🎶🔥🔥 Kodansha: is mayonnaise a shojo?? Kodansha out here extending digital jail time for shojosei manga and I'm asking WHAT WAS THEIR CRIME 📣⁉️⁉️⁉️
wow. you are so strong. its intresting to listen to your story and how its like connected you to fruits basket. i dont know if i explained it right. i love how reflective you talk about your story and fruits basket.
HUGS! Totally don't feel like a grump!! I think that's totally okay be excited for just those two titles! I've been accused of being a hater because I didn't celebrate anything by Kodansha, so I do understand the feeling though! 🙈
Thank you for the super speedy news!!! I'm excited for that Failure at God School manga especially! 🥰 For the Wolf manga, it's under 'Helena and the Wolf" on mangaupdates and according to them it's a shoujo! 🥲
Ahh thank you for the kind words!!! 🥹🥹 And EEEEPP! I'm excited to hear that!! Really looking forward to trying it out! 🤩🤩🤩 And OH! I feel like that's why I must have been struggling because I didn't realize it had the title listed differently there! I super appreciate you telling me and helping me! 🥹🥹🥹
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! violetheart08 here (this is my YT channel btw) and yep. YEP. Secrets of the Silent Witch is just damn good. You should read the LNs. It's goddamn better. Also, I say this with confidence: feel free to anticipate the anime highly.
Love your review! I’m enjoying it so far (as I tend to like and relate to shy characters), and I’m excited to read more as I can tell the writing is really good. Will probably pick up vol 2 later today.
Oh my goodness, thank you!! And YAY!!! I'm so so so excited to hear you're enjoying it!! Eagerly looking forward to reading more as well!! Also I hope you were able to get volume two! 🤩🤩🤩
