Joe and Spencer are hands down the best in the Hairloss business even if some Doctors hate them. The main thing ive learned is that they never push you in getting a Transplant. Honestly you wont have a problem longterm, if you dont go under the knife.
I would prefer that the show refocuses on HTs where it provides valuable input. Finansteride has always been controversial and the vehemence with which you keep defending it makes me kind of skeptical.
It deserves to be defended but I do agree more info on hair transplants would be helpful. The medication thing is kind of beating a dead horse at this point
Great show, guys! I discovered you at 21, and now at 33, I'm still listening closely. Screw those dumb ass 17yr olds giving you grief. I've had six hair transplants, finasteride and topical minoxidil daily the journey hasn't exactly been easy, but hearing your advice over the years has kept me going, both emotionally and physically, and helped me stay committed, albeit some mong strength has probably helped along the way lol. Thanks to you guys I’ve managed to keep my hair for over a decade im truly grateful! - stay real ✊
25:00 just thought I’d chip in and share that dutasteride definitely seemed to thin out my eyebrows to a noticeable degree and that was the one adverse side effect I noticed. Then I got on oral minoxidil which more then made up for the loss in density and made my eyebrows super thick and dark. Really liked that. Still taking both medications years later
I did not like how this initative by an independant public European health authority was dismissed. I am pretty confident they will take the right measures if necessary . A much as I think that the show provides valuable input on HTs, I do not always agree with their stand on Finansteride.
Bald dudes and hypochondriacs just don’t want the rest of us to keep our hair. If governments attempt to ban 5ar inhibitors (they won’t, the actual evidence is in favor of these drugs at this point) then the countless happy users are going to come out of the woodwork and raise a shitstorm. You just don’t hear from these people on a daily basis because they’re too busy living their lives and not worrying about hair loss
My brother has an enlarged prostrate and Finasteride was prescribed as an option by his doc in the UK just this week. but he's not going to take it and opting for operation, because the doc really emphasised potential side effects ,I mean really emphasised them ,sexual dysfunction, enlarged breasts severe depression etc.
@@AbrrahamLincoln I believe prostrate can be shaved back with less complications , full removal of prostrate can be taken out where apparently a small percentage of men can experience urine incontinence which normally ceases after a year or so .Each person has to decide for themself ,most men over 50 have an enlarged prostrate to some degree, obviously if having difficulty emptying bladder something has to be done, my main point was not so much my brother's hesitency about taking drug more how heavy the doc stressed side effects, which fits in with title of the show. As Spencer said I bet docs don't stress the potential side effects of the pill for women .
What side effects with Dut? Been on it for 15 years. Yeah the breast get a little big when you get fat but just lose some weight and they go back down. Sexual side effects is bs. There are no other side effects so what are they talking about?
@@michaelodowd4807 I'm on dut, been 5 years. No side effects. But of course someone gets sides. My doctor didn't say anything about side effects. I wish your brother a smooth operation! We are all in the same boat with our prostate.
Why isn't it useful? Its very unlikely that finasteride will cause suicidal thoughts. And it's very unlikely that birth control pills cause suicidal thoughts. I think its a fair comparison. There are also tons of other common drugs that can mess with your mind.
Great video, Joe. It looks like, at least these days, you are like me where you keep your hair quite long to create the illusion of a thicker head of hair. My problem is while this works for indoor settings, the second I go outside with some wind, even with hairspray, it’s all over and my hair goes everywhere. Do you find yourself having the same type of problem? Or does your hairspray really hold things down firmly?
This video was shot several years ago and my hair is a bit different. Regardless, wind is the enemy, as is rain, but regarding wind having a proper hair helmet held together by a strong hold spray is ideal. Look at the can for the various levels of strength offered. Some brands have a 1-5 indicator. Obviously, 5 is what you want.
I was one of those people who got duped and said post-fin syndrome was overstated. I took for years. Two years in it started. Gymnecostia and the s3xu4l dysfunction. It is real. Sure many clinics deny seing it. But many guys wont say in person because they want to keep hair at all costs, even with PFS. I still take it for now. I have never told a doctor about the side effects. But i sure do online!
I think many do have depression and blame the drug. Agree with you there. But i dunno. Im not in depressed state. I look young and can still get it up just fine. It DID start a weird premature e-jac phenomenon 😢 and Gymnecostia 😅. Sucks but i would rather have hair than proper sexual function.
Good job calling out this scam industry. So true. I stopped dermarolling after buying rollers and expensive pen. Now we hear it might cause fibrosis problems. Youre right docs and influencers just want that next click and such. They dont give a damn as long as facade of expertise stays up
Hi Spencer just discovered you through Gary Linkov's channel, im 25 years old and have between a norwood 2-3, quite a V hairline. Its always been my natural hairline but have had slight recession making it look. alot worse. I am trying to put off a hair transplant so looking for medication combos, my question is brands line Manual, what do you think of them? one pill with finasteride and minoxidil? would you be concerned about the size and dosage in this one pill? Also have you done a collab with the hair loss show? they are also great guys. You guys I've mentioned in this comment are the top tier hair trio! Appreciate your work, means alot to us all struggling.
I been fighting hair loss ohh man… god knows how long and sadly There is no cure i have To keep taking and fighting for it 😅😢🎉🎉🎉to keep my youthful on longterm bases
Hi Joe- Bit of a random question but when you were younger did you ever bother to try and keep up with dying your greys? Having a ton pop through on my beard and temples. Wondering if I should just give up or if there's a good method you could suggest. Thank you
Fair question. I didn't think about it much years ago but I'm thinking more about it now, lol! I haven't looked too hard for a solution however so I'm not really well versed on the options and which look natural.
You are doing great job for the young guys who are often desperate. However, some of the problems may be caused by body dysmorphic disorder. At least when people become suicidal.
Thank you, and yes, I've seen plenty of cases of BDD where the patient was at least contemplating self harm. It's a tough situation to be in for sure and I've learned that no matter how much one may try to reinforce the positives of a patient with BDD, it's useless because they've convinced themselves otherwise.
The experience at Eugenix described by the caller is the same as many, many other patients... distracted surgeons who are minimally involved in the surgery and mostly not in the room, barely any planning or detailed inspection of the scalp, patients waiting around for ever for their surgery to begin, surgeons that they haven't paid for jumping in and performing parts of the the surgery because the more expensive surgeon they paid for is AWOL once they've done the incisions. All of this is known and has been for about three or so years thanks to the forums that seem to get castigated all the time on here.
It's interesting that you both dismissed the idea of FUT after FUE... The video that chat room commentator was most likely referring to was an interview with Hattingen on this topic and they're doing FUT after FUE all the time! I'm a patient of Hattingen and have discussed this with Dr Sever myself. It's obviously less optimal than doing FUT first time around but there's cases where it makes perfectly good sense to revert back to FUT and still get a very decent strip using hair exclusively from the safest part of the donor.
@@d.b.1979 What are you even responding to here? There's no point saying "do FUT first" to someone that has already started with FUE. The point is that in many cases it is actually possible to revert back to FUT after FUE and that probably the world's foremost FUT clinic is doing that kind of thing all the time. It's good to have the option of going back to FUT if you 'missed the boat' first time around.
It’s amazing how quick you guys are to villainize reputable doctors with a track record of doing amazing work after one call to your show about an alleged negative experience. Not saying the caller is lying, but it could be that there was some misunderstanding regarding the procedure itself and what was going on in the office that day. The point being, wouldn’t it make sense to talk to the doctors first and get their side of the story as opposed to jumping to the conclusion that they provided a “shitty” experience?? Seems like you’ll believe anything anyone tells you about a doctor
Nice 👍 haircut Spencer, your moustache is also looking good, just shave the beard paint the moustache and haircut and you would be a Henry Darrow Latino matinee idol no worries.
I had hair transplant back in the late 90s early 2000s.. had more than one surgery it's not worth it it's b*******.. I don't have as much hair as I did right after surgery.. I lost most of it by now it doesn't last forever that's what's the scam about it 1:26
I've always thought a lot of guys like Chris look better with a little recession anyway ,rather than a straight hairline ,gives them a bit of an edge .
