One can only imagine what it was like seeing this in real time. One hundred years later, Anna May Wong remains as enthralling as ever.

I presume Eden Ahbez, his long hair and beard, was stared at a lot on the street in 1948. He would pass unnoticed in 2024. Progress, I guess.

An Intresting [but enraging} fact: When Cole performed this on the TV show he was forced to protect the" fragile sensibilities" of white audiences by cosmetically lightening his skin.

I saw this stunning scene in Picadilly sometime back and was admiring the beauty and talent of Anna May Wong. In spite of the racism she faced in Hollywood as an Asian American actress, it's good to know that her films will be viewed for eternity by present and future generations of movie fans the world over. I always appreciate trailblazers who paved the way in different professions to make the road smoother for those coming up. Very important.

A superb movie: all the lecherous toffs with their silly women watching on. Lovely Miss Mae: RIP.

i can't freakin stand how stupidly people assume these years were nothing but square music, black people's pain, and "grandma" clothes. people were hip, making changes, making moves, doing things that would shape culture as we know it. this was the cool shit. people today who can't see that are not cool people to begin with.
