This has been the best video i've come across with regard to Achilles injury. For some reason most people don't like talking about the pain aspect of journey when it is very important. You discussed everything very well, i appreciate you so much. Stay Focused!

My right shoulder is more stiffer than my left. I passed this test back in high school but over the years maybe from building more muscle or maybe just age but i cant do it anymore lol definitely going to try this every day

I would not recommend the scorpion kicks as it causes rotational movement. The rest are on point.

Awesome. With the medial band pull reverse lunge - should the band be tight and you have to actively engage muscles to avoid pulling your knee and hip towards the band anchor? Also should your weight be mostly on front stance foot with maybe 25% on rear foot?

RDLs by definition do NOT touch the ground. Stiff leg deadlift touches the ground

I thought I hurt my quad doing squats and leg extensions, but noticed pain in the weeks ahead in my inner knee and hip; my Sartorius was inflamed and swollen! It is such a long muscle, its hard to figure out at first.

How are you doing out of the cast? In a boot with an elevated heel?

@@ThePhysioFix yes, I do have the boot with the heel. So happy to be out of the cast. One day at a time...physical therapy in a week. I'm putting very little weight on it. Thank You...

Thanks for your video, i just needed this. I'm at week 8 post surgery and PT's are pushing me a lot, when i don't feel sure also. I am doing PT 3 times and working on my own 2 or 3 times in a week. Everytime i feel an exercise a bit risky i ask them to try before a similar but easier, or to execute very slow just to manage the drill better. Surgeon and PT tell i am too scared but i've been an athlete all my life and i know some premature sensations. I am working to heal 2/3 hours at day and i am disciplined to try to execute everything surgeon and PT tell me. But it happened i refused to do an exercise and i did it on my own when i felt it few days later. A single leg step up in the water and i didn't almost do a double calf raise. Didn't feel to do it, end of the story 🤷‍♂️😃. Best whishes for everything and thanks again for your detailed videos

Hi Stacy, I’m currently coming the the end of week 5 from partial rupture. Initially I was placed on a cast for 4 week’s, at the beginning of week 5 I went in to get the cast removed and placed on a boot with 3 wedges. I was told not to put any weight the next 2 week’s on the boot. From week 1 of my sitting on the couch I’ve been watching ton’s of video’s of other ppl going thru this issue and as it comes to no surprise just about everyone encourage early weight bearing after at least week 2. Now that I’m on a boot, I cautiously place limited weight on my injured foot and feel no pain at all. The following day, I woke up pain free. So this encourage me to keep going partial weight bering. I decided to hope on my Rogue Echo bike and push thru the heel but with consciously kicking my good leg on over drive, but still keeping a slow place during my workout. I felt very slightly burn on my heel but really nothing that was concerning. The following morning I woke up with no pain / soreness what so ever. I’ve been using my Rogue Echo bike for 3 day’s now being on a conservative side, will say it’s safe to say I can continue going this route?

I'm a bit confused by the website. I'm not paying for the program but a subscription. So is it $50 every 4 weeks?

Hey! I hope your week is going well! For the program it is $50 every 4 weeks for 12 weeks (a total of 3 payments). The total for the entire program is $150 and if you would like to we can set up a special invoice for a 1 time payment

Hi Dr. Barber, I surely appreciate your videos. Thank you! I am at week 5 post surgery and struggle sleeping at night with the boot. You mentioned the splint for nighttime. I have all my wedges in my boot, is it too early to consider a splint? I am still in plantar flexion with no dorsiflexion. Any insight appreciated…

Is it necessary to have a cast? Can you just have another splint put on? I'm having Anxiety with the cast.

Dr. Stacey, thank you for your Achilles recovery insights. I too just had my cast off, my surgeon feels I have 1-2 weeks non weight bearing. My rupture was shredded so I won’t start PT for 3 weeks. Longer to heal because of the difficulty of sewing the tendon together. I have no mental issues, just anxious to get back to working out. Thank you!

ALL HEALING PROCESS TAKES TIME. LONG TIME. I HAVE LIKE 8 INJURIES IN MY BODY, AND THE SHOULDER ONE TOOK LIKE 1 1/2 YEARS TO RECOVER. I'M AN ACTIVE MALE, I'M IN MY 50'S AND I THINK BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY . SO. TAKE THINGS AT IT'S OWN PACE. IF YOU RUSH, YOU INCREASE CHANCES TO HURT AGAIN. BUT, WHAT DO I KNOW.... :) GOOD LUCK AND RECOVER WELL PEOPLE !. DON'T TRY TO DO MORE THAN YOU WHERE ABLE TO DO BEFORE, RIGHT AFTER THE INJURY OR WHEN YOU ARE HEALING...... RIGHT ? BE CALM.......

Thanks for showing different sides, most vids show one. For eccentric I guess just perfom substantially slower on the decent...eg 5 secs down quick back up....only mention this because I searched eccentric tap downs and this great video showed up!
