I've just seen one of these, boxed, in a charity shop here in the UK. Never heard of or seen it before, so I came home to scour the internet for some information about it and your video is all I've found! I think I might go back and buy it, - only £2.50!
Awesome pickups man! Nice the updated Doom on 32X! I need to grab that game at some point. I've been waiting for them to release the latest version on cartridge.
A thumbs up for Doom and Priest! I already thought Firepower was an excellent album, and I figured it was the last one. Halford being himself however is determined to outlive us all and rock until the end of time. I haven’t listened to the new one as much as I should, but it’s incredible tight musicianship. Otherwise I am going to see Maiden in concert later this year, I’m keenly interested in hearing how well they’re still doing. Everything I’ve read says they’re still near peak form.
Hey warpuddy666 , this video is for you (you inspired me with your Hahn 45 12 years ago....) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uQdBFmpz4CI.html
I’ve had the same exact drive for 2 years with no issues, but I haven’t tried it on a Mac that also has a built-in drive. On my 2012 iMac it plays DVDs perfectly with the built-in program, and I’ve even ripped my entire DVD collection to files with it. There’s probably a lock in the Apple DVD software that bans USB drives, if I had to guess. I don’t even know why they bother putting those system requirements on these things, this drive works fine on my work laptop which is a Pentium III 700MHz with 512MB RAM and Windows 2000. That’s not even USB 2.0. For me on Windows the USB disc drive is of equal status to the internal, so it shouldn’t cause any issues. I never install the software that they bundle with these things, there’s always a better free or open source version somewhere.
I have owned a 13” MacBook Pro for years and it finally croaked. I was going to buy a new MacBook Pro or the Air…the prices are too high for my current wealth. I really did not want to get anything cheap but…but honestly the only thing I use my laptop for is RU-vid, google, emails, music, …I do not use the video aspects of the MacBook Pro so I told myself…get a cheap laptop that will be easily affordable…as long as the screen is decent but honestly I do not think I would want anything under 1080p. I do not want to spend more than $600. …that makes more sense because as long as I can do what I mentioned up top on a laptop I am 100% happy. …I am going to do some reading up on this laptop and others around the same price range (I wonder if Dell has one)? Thanks for this video. 😎
Also that OBS software lets you tweak the brightness and contrast of the camera, I’m not sure exactly where but I think it’s when you first select the camera. Pretty much any old school webcam software used to do that, these built-in ones are really basic.
Webcam looks decent for the low light conditions. I’ve never been a fan of HP computers either, desktop or laptop. They always do goofy things like banning PCI video cards in BIOS for no reason back in the 98 days. I’m a bit of a Dell loyalist, everything I’ve bought from them has been excellent. The Dell desktop I picked up recently is running Win10 smooth, it is way more powerful than any of my Macs. I did have to tweak a bunch of things about the OS to make it useable because I work a lot with the computer, but it’s not bad once set up properly. Haven’t tried 11 yet. Still have my 2012 iMac set up too, but I don’t know if I’ll ever buy another newish Mac. New OSes won’t run 95% of my stuff.
Watched this video about 6 years ago and I back today, still collecting Rumph bongs. Hilarious all of the people trying to buy them off you even though you state not for sale 😂
Nice pieces. The 2 "headache" bongs that i own are signed. But since you bought them in the 80's they must be the real deal. Let me know if you'd like to sell the dragon. Id give you $300 for it. Thanks!
Cool stuff, hopefully something comes of that Intellivision system. Did you ever end up finding an INTV II with the red stripe on it? I saw one in excellent shape on display a couple months back, but it wasn't for sale. Otherwise I'm still hunting to find any Intellivision stuff, it is incredibly rare in my area, but I love the system.
I am yet to find an INTV II with the red stripe. This would be the third I have found since I started collecting. I have a bad feeling a lot of them may have been trashed because of the hard to find power supply.
KOTOR had some cool sabers, this is the best one I’ve seen them do yet. I’d get this one if I ever had a chance. Retail price for these is a bit too rich for my blood.
Mike picked up the custom saber, it's made by saberforge.com/ Not cheap but insane cool as the sounds and blade effect can be changed-upgraded via mini sd card. The sword already has around 12 effects like hippie mode making blade change to pulsating rainbow colors. You just chopped off my hand you bastich. Sorry man, here have a sandwich it's pastrami. Oh wow man , peace brother. XD
@@WARPUDDY666 How much is he asking for it? That site has some cool hilt designs for sure. Would be great for cosplayers. If you've ever heard of the 501st Legion, those guys do some awesome stuff. Lots of these people design their own stuff and still end up looking uniform in a lineup. Really a neat group.
Opps brain fart. The lightsaber is made by SabersPro saberspro.com/products/star-killer-light-saber?_pos=1&_sid=9c8c61854&_ss=r He just listed it for $399.99 or basically a lot of nope.
Got to say I prefer that the whole saber doesn’t flicker when you hit something, I was never a huge fan of the way that looked. I agree it’s getting simply preposterous how much some stuff costs, not just video games but anything collectible. I’d love to get more GameCube stuff or vintage knives but around here it’s way beyond my price range.
New cam looks good, way better at handling light than the LifeCam. Mic seems decent too. Only thing is I see RU-vid downscales the vid to 480p so it does take a bit of a quality hit on res, but at least it'll look nice and crisp if you use it on a computer that can handle it at 720 or especially 1080. I've thought about buying a 1080p Logitech cam but like you I don't want to pay the huge upfront cost. On software I use OBS which is compatible with both Windows and Mac. Does take a bit to learn how to use, but it's very versatile, and it's free. For your mini you might have to download an older version for the old OS, I know the version on my iMac is about 3 years old but works great. Happy early New Year.
Sorry to hear about the troubles you’ve been through lately. You’re the third person I know who’s been in a car accident in the last 2 months. Last year another dude I know flipped over because a lady blew past a red light. Seems there are more stupid drivers everywhere. Hopefully everything goes well with your mom’s surgery. Otherwise it seems like Big Mike really has things figured out with his business, he can probably stay there for a long time.
Happy (belated?) birthday. Really good find on this, I’ve seen typewriters at my goodwills a lot lately and they are really beat up. Had no interest in them because like you I’ve never had one, and I’d rather it be a true vintage when I do get one. The ones I see are maybe late 50s at the earliest.
Cool find, even if you can’t get it working at least it’s presentable in excellent condition. I do wonder if it’s something about that switch being worn out, even if it’s not directly related it might be freaking the system out if the switch keeps flipping back and forth on its own. I’ve had that happen a lot on old cameras and other equipment, and the changes are so rapid that you can’t even tell what’s going on. Otherwise maybe something with the video connection is bad, but hard to say without seeing the internals. I’ll say that I have some systems that do not like my old RCA TV but play nice with anything else, and vice versa. Some systems are simply unusable on my flat screen too. My PS2 fat is screwing with me on my RCA CRT, it’s showing massive distortion like there’s interference in the picture but it works fine on my LCD. No clue what’s wrong with it.
Have you thought about getting a laser printer? Toner lasts for a few thousand pages compared to a few hundred per ink cartridge, and the toner doesn’t dry out like ink. I only get a few pages out of each ink cartridge because HP sucks. Brother makes good laser printers apparently, even their cheapest models are worth it. It will be an investment at first but it pays off, I’m hopefully getting rid of the old HP soon.
Also on the video I did on the LaserDisc player. I started to take it apart and noticed a lot of the plastics getting that yellow look. I did notice one of the cogs has a crack in the post, but is fixable. Otherwise taking the bottom off of it to check for fuses and stuff is really easy so I'll just do a vid on that. Funny that my other LaserDisc player that's two years older works beautifully. I'm going to open the bottom of it up just to see if the mechanics are the same or similar.
Do you still have the CLD 990, and if so is that the one that flips the laser? I saw one of those in rough shape a few years back and passed. Still waiting to get my first one. I think I found the same manual you did and it says the weight is 28.7lbs for the 660. Would be cool to see another laserdisc repair video, I’ve always been fascinated with how they built these beasts.
Been watching this guys vids, dude gets me rolling so hard. Find the one of him showing of his guitar collection. He pranks pop fans in this vid by playing metal. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7sWtm3GobmE.html
Honestly one of the things that might indicate a bad memory pack is the game not booting up at all which usually also indicates eroded tracing in the game carts, but if the games themselves work fine then you know it is a expansion pak dying or being faulty especially if there is continuity on the circuits of the game boards and it is clean. Biggest sign is suddenly all of your games are not working and were not improper storage, even then after inspection of the games looking for any water damage caused by humidity one must look at the jumper pak And yes i have also been wanting a excuse to buy a new one but with more memory that way i can play the story mode of perfect dark
For $5 definitely a steal. I found in the completed listings on eBay an EQA10P that looks like it was in a flood and it sold for $130. Seems like that one is 80W. Crazy how beat up some of this stuff is. Been a while since I saw you without a beard, guess it was time. I can’t grow very much facial hair, same as my dad. I just shave it for the most part cause it looks crappy.
Hey you found one of the only GameCube games that I was able to find in the wild. Haven’t seen any in years. One of the things that ticks me off about the Xbox One is that most of the really good games are digital only. They don’t do limited run type releases or anything indie on disc. There’s a great remake of Powerslave that combines the best of the PS1 and Saturn versions, would love to have that on disc since the actual game costs a kidney. But guess what, PS4 has the game on a disc. Same with the remakes of the old iD Software games. Otherwise I agree with you that the story games are just boring, I hate all this on-rails stuff, I like games like Doom where you just get right in and start fighting. I’ve been doing good to score on some old computer games from this thrift store in town that’s for the humane society. Lots of good stuff coming in lately. If Big Mike gets that old Oreos cereal with the marshmallows on them I might just have to get a timeshare in Arizona LOL. Sounds like a killer place just to hang out even if you aren’t buying. I could probably do some good trades with him if I hauled some stuff over to AZ. I have boxes of old-ish toys that I need to sort through.
Here's something funny. That game Daymare has some pretty stupid A.I for the monsters. As usual with this kind of game you have a monster towards the end of it that's really hard to kill. There's a repetitive part where you have it chasing after you and you're trying to get through tunnel entrances. Each part has you stopping at a council pressing a button and then you got to go through the crap of pressing triangle square circle whatever to open the door. You also have to avoid a few zombies as you run through the tunnel. And when opening up entrances you have to get it perfect each time or the monster gets you. Then when you make it to the end you have to press another button and then wait for the elevator to come while staying away from the monster. It took me about five very annoying times to finish it. Anyways speaking of A.I the last time was hysterical. Instead of running around having it chase me while I'm waiting for the stupid elevator. I hid behind the only piller in the room. Just stood there waiting for the stupid elevator to finally show up, no monster in sight and was able to get into the elevator and finish that level. Every other time, if I made it to the elevator, the monster would be right on me, killing me as I'm stepping into it. Had me swearing like a bastich when it didn't show up.
@@WARPUDDY666 I love doing stuff like that, stupid AI is easily one of the funniest things in games. I was playing one of the old Call of Duty games recently and there’s a part where you snipe this guy from a distance but if you jump on this dresser you can glitch outside to where he is and shoot him up close, he doesn’t even notice you. Even funnier you get to watch him flail around in slow motion right up close, then the game warps you back to the balcony where you should be. I’ll have to pick that Daymare game up if I ever get a deal on it, looks like it’s available on the Xbox too. I’m waiting to get a PS4 because if my girlfriend ends up getting a PS5 I’ll get hers for free. Only thing is it’s an original 2013 model so it’s only 500GB. I will probably put a 2TB hard drive in it myself. Otherwise I might get a PS4 Pro if I ever see one for a cheap price, but they aren’t common here.
It does not surprise me that the controllers are cheaply made, I think they redesigned the innards when they added those front buttons. The newest one I have is the flashback 5, and I have opened the controllers before. They seemed to be decent quality, not amazing but nowhere near as bad as what you’re describing. I think I have a crappy vid showing them opened up from 5 or 6 years ago. The best quality one was the flashback 2 which can be modded with a cartridge slot since it uses real Atari hardware miniaturized. That was before ATGames took over. Otherwise I’ll use this as advice to steer clear of these things unless they’re dirt cheap. I see flashback 3s for like $15 sealed at swappmeets.
I took the stupid thing apart again and I was right. The thing was either already broken or putting it back together broke one of the leads on the ribbon cable. Hopefully just the one. ROTFF XD
Got it fixed, but not easy. The wires on the ribbon cable are braided, so also very easy to break. What I did was move all the broken ones to other side of boards. On the other wires I added solder to strengthen them. I also used a piece of alien tape to hold down the ribbon cable. Pure luck that I got it working, cuz even under a magnifying glass soldering this thing was a pain in the ass.
Cool find man, like you say for being almost 3 quarters of a century old that thing is pristine in every way. I seldom find something even 25 years old in like new condition. Did you get that light at Harbor Freight? I think I have the same exact one, they were giving them out free with any purchase so I took one. As an aside, it seems like you’re looking a lot thinner, hopefully your health is getting better and you can take advantage of it. I know with my mom when she was sick and lost all of her weight it did wonders for her pain. Now her problem is actually that she’s becoming too thin, she weighs the same as me and I’m 110 pounds. My metabolism is weird and I’ve never been able to gain weight. My dad is the same way, he’s only around 120 pounds.
Yeah definitely a cool find. That is one of those little lights from harbor freight. I try and snag one anytime they have them for free. On the fattness, been keeping it down pretty good but still dealing with a lot of pain. Talking about your weight, I have an old friend that's also always been thin. He can eat like he's trying to get on the Krispy Kreme calendar and not gain a pound. My dad was the same way after he quit drinking. I remember as a kid he would get the old paper cartons of ice cream and literally eat half of it in a large bowl. Like my friend he also went to gain any weight from it. Could definitely be your metabolism.
You did good to get these, very nice helmets. Around here man when something like Big Mike’s store opens it’s there for maybe a year and then it’s gone or changed into something else. Never anything worth hanging out at. I’m getting tired of the local swap meets, it’s the same stuff every time I go. These people have to pay to have a booth and I don’t understand how they can afford to. Goodwills and thrift stores are becoming real weak with their selection too. Found a couple game systems at goodwill and they had been wet to where there was rust. Total bummer.
Can't even remember the last time I went to a swap meet here, like you it's same s*** different year. On thrift stores, I always feel lucky when I find anything good. Funny thing a Goodwill is the karks they bring out now signs on them to where you have to wait until they've loaded up the shelves. Board of the lady said they literally had people break out in fights grabbing stuff off of them. Why do I always miss out on stuff like that. Got to say Arizona is strong with the crazy. Welcome to thrift club. First rule nobody talks about thrift club. XD
@@WARPUDDY666 Haha I know all about that, I have a hard time typing on my phone. Sometimes I’ve used the thing where you can speak into it but it comes out as complete nonsense too.
Hard to tell from the vid, but it looks like the cable that hooks into the headset is a D-sub or VGA cable, meaning that this may work to plug a SNES into an old computer monitor. I suspect that it would work with an N64 or GameCube as well. Given that the resolution of the SNES was way bigger than this headsets resolution, I’m guessing they built a downscaling feature into the screens which may be part of why it looks so crappy. GameCube res can go down to 240p which is about the same as the original Nintendo. Would be fun to try, but definitely taking a risk in doing so, seems like a flaky unit.
I've been looking the thing over and can see a few changes that could improve it. One thing would be the glossy plastic by the screen making the image reflect of the inside walls, I would have made it flat black. Also would make the magnification adjustable. I did try it on Gamecube and it worked like crappy video glasses, otherwise playable---ish. It just picks up the composite video. I assume it should also work on the N64 same way. Looks like the dip switches are just for using the LR on SNES or Genesis for the high end motion control.
Cool find. I’m hoping to go to Arizona for vacation in a few years (hopefully in fall/winter next year) and I will definitely check out Mike’s store. Here there is a toy store about an hour away from me that is shaped like a spaceship and lights up at night, cool place but they don’t get the same kinds of stuff in, lot of weird toys that aren’t very collectible if you aren’t into that trippy obscure stuff. My mom has been dealing with the same issue of feeling too bad to eat, she’s lost 40 pounds already and for her it’s starting to become a problem. Hopefully you’ll get feeling better and be able to take advantage of the weight loss.
I'm really happy about the toy store and you would really like it. Also his in store prices are cheaper as it cost a bit to sell on ebay. I just hope his health stays ok. He is a big happy friendly dude, but won't last forever at his size. It's just him and his two girls running the store, so hopefully they would take over the store for him if he got sick. On my FATNESS it's been a slow go from 315 to 273 so nothing to worry about. One thing that helps me get an appetite back when feeling nauseous is 2mg THC infused mints, to bring on the munchies. I have found using just CBD also can help. Hopefully your mom will get better. Is her problem caused by pain?
@@WARPUDDY666 My mom has a lot of chronic pain issues, her neck and jaw are messed up along with thyroid problems that have come and gone. She has a hard time keeping food down sometimes. She’s been battling with these problems for years and it’s a low point now, but hopefully things will improve when she gets back on good meds. I may have to try mentioning THC to her, my dad already gets them so it shouldn’t be much of an issue to acquire for her either. Funnily the few times I’ve had those gummies myself I never notice any difference. I have a hard time getting high from a bong hit too, but I haven’t tried a lot.
@@benrlego My mom has had thyroid problems for a very long time and when it first hit her it would make her very paranoid and depressed. Now that she takes medication for it she is much better. My big sister that passed away had it real bad with paranoia irritability and anger issues. Basically it made her crazy as she never saw a doctor about it. On meds, My mom originally used Armor it's made from pigs and worked better for her, just expensive even with medicare. I think the kind she gets now is made from horses and less expensive but still works ok. For me I get TMJ in my jaw and have chronic pain from the neck down from osteoarthritis, two bulging disk and bone spurs from the neck down my entire spine and in my feet since childhood. I know she is hurting bad when it's in the neck as it can trigger pain in other areas and give intense headaches. On taking the edge off of pain I have found menthol gel works good and also coralite capsaicin heat patch two packs from 99 cent only----ish. I get the gel from Amazon in the gallon, cheapest is called soothing touch cold therapy, has about 4% menthol with arnica and burdock root price is arond $40 or less. Otherwise Cryo-273 Pain Relief Gel or Sub Zero Cooling Pain Relief Gel, just more expensive.
Nice find. My grandfather had multiple 30s school desks in his house, he worked for the school for many years and took a bunch of stuff home when he could. Good way to get cheap high quality wood furniture these days. I know the people at my goodwill store look prices up on eBay for sure, I only occasionally stop in that store now. Haven’t been able to hit any places up recently, I never have time after work so I haven’t been picking much up.
Good to see a new vid from you. On the PS4 controller, I assume you tried resetting it with the little pinhole next to the L2 button, which is apparently the only way to reset the firmware at all. You’d almost expect that they’d let you flash the controller with the newest firmware, otherwise these things are gonna get glitches eventually as they become more complex. When I looked your issue up, I saw a few vids showing how to fix problems with the triggers making the sticks move, but none for the d-pad. It may be the same issue nonetheless, if there’s dirt making contact with the metal perhaps it’s conducting every time an input is made up there. Otherwise I saw a dude say he fixed it by banging the L2 button into a table, so there’s that… For me I have 4 Xbox 360 controllers that are all messed up in the same way, the left stick doesn’t center properly and it causes the character to slowly drift in one direction, apparently there are plastic posts in the stick that get shredded over time and you cannot fix it without new parts. Getting sick of it as it seems like many used controllers behave the same now.
I figured I would try taking the controller apart and see what I can do. Just got to get my neck felling better. If I'm up to it, I may try another video tomorrow. I found a vintage school desk at Goodwill for cheap circa 1905-1910 and really want to show it off. Whoever does the prices really slipped up or had no idea it was vintage as they go for 100s.
