I’m an electrician with a biology degree that has always wanted to build a truck. I have little to no auto mechanical experience so why not get a 1951 GMC 5 window and put out on an S10 frame. What could go wrong?

I'm fully ready for that. I'm surprised they have lasted this long. I wish there were places local to buy this kind of stuff. Bugs me that the local businesses are upset that we all buy so much off the Internet instead of them. They make it this way but not having anything for hotrods.

I think it's more on your carburetor because it's seeping down when you fire it up it's got too much fumes and that's what's happening it's trying to burn up the excess

On your transmission with a 700 r4 in reverse that's the highest pressure should be rebuilt an essential blow over the motor
@occoug

I checked my fluid level again and found it low after reading your comment. It works a little better now. Thank you. I might dump some of that "rebuild in a bottle" into it and see if that helps.

Your fuel pressure looks low to me and the leak that you have by the pcv hose looks like either the 1” filter housing gasket is leaking or loose or you have a bad fuel line flare. You’ll get it, keep at it!

Those coolant lines you blocked off - you might need to run a bypass hose

I'd drop the transmission pan to look for metal partials and change the filter. it's easy. A simple loop in the transmission lines will let you run it, Don't just block them off.

When it starts and you pull through better cable...if the engine keeps running the alternator is working. Pulling the cable isn't a kill switch. To kill it I believe that is on the HEI.

ALL of the so called kits sukk. hot rods only need 3 or 4 fuses period !!! if you want to get a real good idea, use the old style in line fuse. thars rite. i said, in line fuse. i have been doing wiring well over 40 some years. i hate to see fellow rodders go thru this shit ! 😢

I am building on an budget. Would I like to paint the engine and chrome it all out? Yes. As for painting the truck. All the rust is repaired but I'm not painting it. That's how it will be. I love the patina. I will hit it with some Poppy's patina eventually.

That heat riser for the choke gets hot.Keep the wire just off the engine. Grounds are needed Body engine and frame.Bigger is better. Fuel line needs a bracket. Keep at it once the wiring is done your close to driving it.

@rockyrivermushrooms529

No not really. You still have to route field devices and hook them up. This is the best solution because it can be easily debugged and repaired.

This is a pallet multiplier for our substation with 45 sets of breakers in our 345 kV yard. This is used to send breaker indication to multiple systems within our substation. If our yard were a more compact and less complex like some smaller yards it would be much simpler. The other side of this panel has 15 2505-SEL remote I/O with fiber connections. So I guess we are sending all this information to other circuit boards to do their jobs..
