Hi Zata. I have a question, my son is planning to attend to the Phd program in Food science and Technology in English program at Wageningen university, is it a requirement to know the Dutch language as well as the English to be admitted in the Phd program?
Hey! As far as I know, you don't have to know Dutch in order to be admitted to the PhD program. Especially if it's been stated that it's going to be an English program :)

Black pete does not represent black slavery, thats a leftish propoganda move mainly done in the west of NL. to be specific by extreme left groups that have no real agenda besides butchering our traditions. One example would be party Denk. Which is a party that tries to push everything through a victim mindset and propoganda to repend for things we never did. Black pete was actually a freed slave from turkey, who decided to come with nicolaas as there was no reason to stay at a place you are freed from. Saint nicolaas was a saint for a reason. The black of the piet is as its traditions through chimneys. It represents the dirt from going down and up from coal. So they are not officially black, neither has it to do with negros to begin with. It has to do with turkish slaves, freed and brought back with him to spain to live their better days out. Dont sell propoganda that media keeps trying to push through throats.
Wow this is really trippy! I've lived really close to Wageningen all my life and studied at WUR for a couple months back in 2018 until I eventually transferred to UU instead. It's so strange to see a place I'm so familiar with in a video like this. It suddenly looks so cozy haha Anyway, I hope you've had a great time here so far and that you're enjoying life at WUR!
Maleis was al de meestgebruikte taal voor handel in Indonesië ver voor de colonisatie en gezien het makkelijker is zelf een taal te leren dan anderen te forceren jouw taal te leren heeft het koloniaal bestuur besloten het Nederlands niet in te voeren en het Maleis te handhaven. Alles om zo min mogelijk moeite zo veel mogelijk centen binnen te harken. (Ik spreek geen Maleis/indonesisch, dus lang leve het vertaalknopje.)
