Quite disappointing show (for afx at least) from the artistic point of view. 10 minutes noise (visual and acoustically) without clou, followed by 3 minutes good beats. Again and again. During the distracting noise periods, all people in my vicinity turned around and talked, not paying attention to what happened on stage. Been quite close to the stage, so I assume most of them did that instead of being afx fans.
Mate, literally thought the same, was so disappointed. Completely agree, more like 20 mins of noise distortion and 2 mins beats and then back to noise. My 6th time seeing him and was the worst. His set was literally just to destroy the sound system. Ppl will say ''experimental'' but to me it was trash. If you want this experience go to a trance death rave. And Im a massive fan, probably more than most people.
I was there, very disappointing set, way too much experimental soundscape sounds just destroying any type of a dance vibe. Out of 30 tracks he played, xtal, boxing day, elephant song and at the very end mont saint Michael. Everything else was pretty trash to be honest and im a massive fan of him. It was like he deliberately fucks ppl over taking drugs and for normal ppl its just crazy noise, no beats. His shows last weekend were defo better than sonar. Always a risk.
You went to an aphex gig to dance? His best gigs are when he goes full at it melting minds.I can get if you felt uncomfortable. That's his primary goal as a performing artist. Nobody comes close to his sets in that respect. It's a sensory assault.
For me it's totally the opposite it was his best set, and it was the most radical of all.and then I think it's good to get out of your comfort zone. Proof you only quote tracks you know. If you really mean what you say, don't go see an autechre live
@@castel_komodo Ive seen him 6 times now. Besides the tracks I knew, there were 2 more unidentified or unreleased that were cool enough. But if you look at the previous sets there is so much more tracks to dance to and better unreleased stuff. This sonar gig was 70 percent piercing soundscape noises. Not for me. Other ppl can say, it's "experimental" but to me it's pretty trash. I pay and go to see my favourite artist and i cannot believe I'm saying this.... BICEP saved the night for me and I only know 2 of their tracks. They were really great the whole set, very enjoyable
