If the decoy choke did the same thing as the passing choke at 25 yards then why wouldn’t you just go with the passing choke to have a tighter pattern at longer ranges while getting the same pattern density at shorter ranges?
@midvalleymerecenaries I am turning 14 this summer and I am looking for a good shotgun to hunt deer, dove, duck, and turkey with, I have a 20 gauge Winchester SX4 and I love it, but I just need something with a little more power at a reasonable price. Do you think that the A5 is a good choice for my age or should I look for something else?
Watched this video when it first came out, and it made me think training a lab would be easy because rocky is so mellow, well i just finally got a black lab, well turns out my lab is a damn hell hound😂 she has unlimited energy i swear just goes full power the whole time training, she is 14 weeks rn! Doing awesome but i feel like i can’t keep up with her energy😂
So I never been hunting, let alone duck hunting, been wanting to for years, just I don't want my first alone, I am a lobster hunter so I know the value of life, one of my customers for my work is a duck hunter, he said this season he will take me out not only to a duck hunt for a weekend, but goose hunting as well when that season happens at the end of duck season, so I get to go out and learn, hopefully I can go with him and his group each year, now I need to find someone for deer hunting and boar hunting
The average hunter nowadays is very inapt with a shotgun. With 3 inch 1550 steel BBs and an improved modified choke, should be able to smoke ducks easily at 70 yards If you can shoot but most people can’t. Just go to a sporting Clays range and see how poorly the average shooter shoots nowadays. In order to shoot ducks consistently 60 yards yards or more, your sporting clays average needs to be in the 90s. The average duck hunter nowadays only shoots about 30 to 40% on an easy sporting clays course. That means 20 yard targets are mostly getting missed by at least a third of the time. Most ducks are killed between 15 and 25 yards.
Word is that Muller Chokes are the bees knees. There is another guy on YT that's tested them pretty extensively against everything else. Surprisingly, using some pretty out of it tech, The Muller is the best. Ironically, the Pattermaster is a gimmick. They actually lengthen the shot string instead of shorten it.
I know this video is a couple years old. As a vet tech the leptospirosis (lepto) vaccine is a common vaccine. At the hospital I work at we give the leftover vaccine every day. Several times a day I answer the question what is leptospirosis? The fact that the receptionist made such a big deal about someone not knowing about lepto is pretty damn unprofessional. A good rule of thumb is, if your dog is going to be living an active outdoor lifestyle get all the vaccines that your vet recommends. Doesn’t have to be all in one go, but it’s better to be safe than lose your dog.
I use both. I like the kicks for lead BB and #4 buck in .670 and .680. I can get 6 pellets pretty. Consistent with both in a 5 inch circle at 60 yards. I have used pattern master code black turkey in both 12 and 10 gauge. Patten master doesn’t offer sizes they just pick a size and market it.ivebused the originals when they first came out. I could shoot ducks at a 100 yards with a monster lead.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of collar do you have Rocky wear if you do have a collar for him? I want to get a black lab puppy, but I don’t want to use synthetic collars?
