4K resolution first-person point-of-view walking, traveling, and dashcam driving videos, without narration. Most of my videos will usually be filmed in either the New York City/New Jersey metro area or in New England, with occasional trips elsewhere. My videos were filmed with GoPro Hero 12, GoPro Hero 9, DJI Osmo Pocket 2, and Google Pixel 7.
A die hard Cubs fan from 🇨🇦 Nova Scotia, CANADA 🇨🇦 … and I was just there (finally) for the first time on 20 June 2024 for a game against the Mets. It was also my first time going to a live MLB game. Unfortunately, the Cubs lost 11-1, but it was still a wonderful experience. I sat in section 110, in the first row. Great seats, had a real good view of everything. I did the tour before the game (with tour guide Kenny) and I learned a lot about this historic ball park. Went into the Cubs store after the game and spent a few hundred dollars on some t-shirts and other memorabilia. Then my wife and I ate at Swift and Sons Tavern across the street. I’ll definitely come back. I think next time I might try one of the Wrigley Roof Top venues as I have since learned your food and booze etc is all included in the ticket pricing. I wish I could have stayed longer as on that Sunday they unveiled Ryne Sandberg’s statue on Gallagher Way, and he’s my all time favourite Cubs player. ~ Go Cubs Go! ~
Sounds like a fantastic and memorable experience, thanks for sharing! I'm also a big Cubs fan who finally made the trip there in April. I grew up in Illinois watching them but moved away in my teens, I had been to a lot of road games, even a playoff game in 2015, but never to Wrigley. It's not just an iconic ballpark, but also an iconic American landmark. Glad that you were able to get on the official tour --- I didn't get a chance to do that, but during the rubber game in this series (this video was taken during the 1st game), there was a lengthy rain delay that gave me the opportunity to explore the ballpark in more detail than I did here in this video. I hope you were able to check out the 2016 World Series trophy on display too. They're definitively having a bit of an underachieving year (what else is new!😅) but they have a great farm system and I think the future is bright - I hope you get many more opportunities to visit Wrigley and other MLB ballparks in the future!
The roads and the dilapidated facade of some of the buildings is worrisome. If you start bringing the wrong people there, it could quickly become a ghetto.
It's been a while since my last visit to that beautiful place. Thanks for the reminder! But I'll wait to go back there until it cools down a little, lol.
Yes, it is beautiful! And yes, good call on waiting until it cools down a bit, since this was definitely a sweaty one for me! 😅 This looks like it could be a great place to visit for fall foliage.
@@walkingdrivingincognito Indeed! Did you go to the Raptor Trust, just down the road? That's a great place to visit. They do a very good job saving birds of prey.
The view is certainly beautiful! There's certainly not enough parking! 😂But the further west you go in Hoboken, it should be easier to find on-street parking. I usually like to park near the ShopRite in the northwest part of town where it's less busy and easier to find parking, and then just walk everywhere in town. It should only be about a 10-min walk to the waterfront from there. On-street parking used to be free over there too, but now it's metered (but not too pricey).
I love your videos so much. Hi everyone, a genuine Question. Am planning on moving from europe the netherlands to new york White plains. Is it a nice place to live? Am so scared cause everyone here tells me how bad America is. I could really use some honest answers from new yorkers or Americans their self. 🥹
Thanks! Really glad to hear you enjoy my videos! I hope it's useful. I've only been to White Plains about three times and it seemed like a safe area at least to me. That being said, there are parts of the NYC area that I personally believe are less safe than White Plains, and I would imagine less safe than The Netherlands. I have never been to the Netherlands, and I haven't been to Europe in the past 7 years, so it's hard for me to say what exactly the perception of the US and the NYC area is over there and whether it reflects the reality on the ground. I do think though that there are a lot of differences between US and Netherlands. From what I hear, the Dutch are used to living in places that are easy to walk around and they also like to ride a lot of bikes. Those kinds of places are harder to find in the USA, especially in the suburban areas, where people mostly drive. So that's another aspect of living in the USA that may be difficult to get adjusted to for someone from Europe---thats just one cultural distinction but I'm sure there could be others. Anyway, hope that info is helpful and good luck with your move!
So cool, I was stationed there during Viet Nam, and I saw the Sonic Drive in that I ate most of my in town meals at. Just a few seconds took me back 50 years, thanks.
Same here! Well, I may not have been there thousands of times, but for me this area is a great getaway for the weekends that's close by that I keep revisiting since there's lots of great hikes and scenic views. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! Glad it brought back some memories for you, and I agree, I also found it to be a very peaceful place and a really cool place to unwind!
Someone please; what’s the name of the hotdog place that was there. Not Franzls restaurant. Little spot, maybe,? Right by one entrance. Not 22 on the other side. That was a guy with a station wagon. A while ago, for him
Yeah, I definitely recommend that you check it out! It's a really beautiful waterfall for sure, and it's easy to get to if you're not that into long hikes. Since the park has only been open since April, it's certainly a hidden gem (for now)!
@@walkingdrivingincognito We visit that area pretty often, so it's always exciting to discover new places. While we generally prefer longer hikes, we'll add this one to whichever trail we choose to explore that day. Thanks once again!
Great video. I liked how you walked the entire exterior and then showed us the inside. Excellent job. I am not a Cubbies fan but watching this makes me want to go to Wrigley.
Thanks! I'm a Cubs fan but believe it or not, this was my first visit there. I was actually supposed to go there once when I was a young fan, but it didn't work out and then I moved away from Illinois to across the country. But I finally had the chance earlier this year, which was a dream come true. And yes even the exterior is unique in its own way since most ballparks nowadays are not in the middle of an urban neighborhood like this one.
I think I've been around that area once before but haven't visited since I started this channel, and didn't plan to cover that far this video, so maybe sometime later I head up near that area if that's something you'd like to see. One video I've been wanting to do near there is a walkthrough of the CCNY campus.
@@walkingdrivingincognito It's a nice area. I have visited friends there for over 25 years a few years ago and traveled the 5 Boroughs quite frequently. I ❤️ NYC!
Thanks for watching my videos! I use a GoPro Hero 12 for the vast majority of my walking and driving videos. Occasionally I may even just use my phone camera for some videos depending on the situation, but I usually use the GoPro for videos on this channel. Some of my older walking videos (from 2021) were shot with the DJI Osmo Pocket 2.
Can't really go wrong with either in my opinion, though both have their pros and cons. The GoPros have been fairly sturdy, though my old GoPro broke after about 2 years of usage. Another downside with the GoPro is it performs very poorly when walking in low light, but at least the upside is I figured out how to do dashcam driving videos with the GoPros, it's a much more straightforward setup than the DJI Pocket camera. In contrast the DJI camera is actually very good in low light from my experience, and it's more discreet. But my original DJI camera also broke after about 1 year of use, smh...the gimbal stopped working because of some overheating issue, so I was a bit wary about replacing it with the same or similar model.
@@walkingdrivingincognito I know what you're saying.. another pro on the gopro is that you can just jump in the water with it. with The DJI you can't. But Still, I'm kinda leaning tours the the dji because of the new 1 inch sensor. I currently own a gopro 8 though. Just in case I wanna do a video in the rain or lake.
Agreed, the GoPro definitely handles water really well. If you dig deep enough into my video catalog, you'll find a walk that I did at Niagara Falls a few years back. That was a pretty wild walk, and that one I shot with my old GoPro. I'm not sure how the DJI camera would've performed there!
Thanks for watching! Yes it's an interesting street that I wanted to show, because it passes through three very distinct neighborhoods, so one can see a lot of different street scenes in just a few short blocks.
Thanks for the educational walk around Boston. It was a pleasure to look through your camera. There are not as many people on the streets as they show in New York. Thank you for the video! I'm watching from Kyiv, Ukraine. Good luck to you!
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed this walk! 😊 Yes, it's a very different vibe in Boston than in New York but it's a great city in its own way. Some neighborhoods have a very European feel to it, maybe more so than any other major US city. Appreciate all the support, and I hope you stay safe over there and that the war can end soon - Kyiv is a beautiful city as well!
I Live here. Too exoensive not enough stores, rich people all over. NYC weather stinks. Democratic-Socialist run city and state. Kathy Hochul Gov. Eric Adams both stink. Welcome t Hochulville !!!
Interesting, I had no idea things were that bad over there. I've actually never been to L.A. before. Yes, over in this neighborhood, things seem to be pretty lively, it's a big nightlife area and it's close to NYU. But in Midtown Manhattan, you still do occasionally see some vacant storefronts on a few blocks.
It could vary widely depending on what part of NYC you're going to and how much traffic there is, but I would guess maybe an hour and a half on average to get to Midtown Manhattan.
@@matuu888 Northern Queens is actually pretty big too, I would guess maybe an hour to somewhere like Flushing? There can be a lot of traffic congestion on those highways in Queens too during the busy hours. But Google Maps can also give you some pretty good estimates of how long it would take.
What time of day did the parade start? I got there too late I think and missed this part of it. I want to come back next year for the parade and it would be great to know what time I should get there :)
I believe it took place from around 1pm to 3pm, but it kind of depends where you're standing. I took this video about three blocks south of where the parade starts, so near the front. If you're over by East Broadway or Sara Roosevelt Park toward the end of the parade route it may be more like 2pm to 4pm, as long as they do the same route next year. It's a fun spectacle, hope you get a chance to enjoy it next year! 😊
Thanks for sharing this video,, i have very beautiful memories because I use to work in Byram pizza shop in Byram Twon,, God bless America and American people 🇺🇲👍
I used to live on Gurnee ave and graduated from NRHS in 1990. I haven't been back for almost 30 years. I miss it so much! When I was a kid I mistakenly used to call Haverstraw, take a straw.
