Thanks to all of you who have subscribed and contributed feedback on my video content. I have a true passion for aviation and business. I have created this channel for both of those reasons. I am not currently working in the Aviation field and this is my only way of making it a part of my life at the current time. I also treat my RU-vid channel and blog as a business and it's letting me do what I love to do and be involved in. I post videos of Flight Simulator X as well as Airplane spotting videos.
I would like everyone reading this to know that If I should ever make money posting my video's I would like to use some of it to give back to the world. I want to help out those in need as well as help educate young people in the aviation field. I would like to help contribute to aviation enthusiasts tuition to go to school to do what they love. Very informative. I searched this to find a way to use the autopilot and GPS to land an A321 at Fresno (KFAT) coming from San Francisco (KFSO) over the mountains. My main takeaway on this video was that GPS only gives you a horizontal position and the Approach feature does not help with an actual landing. In other words you have to fly the glidescope manually. This may not be an issue with a prop plane but with jets, which land at a higher speed it takes a lot of practice. After three hours of practice, using Little Navmap to monitor my height, I figured it out but have to say that using ILS to land a jet is a lot easier. Again, thank you and, oh by the way, I only live a few miles from the Barrie Airpark (CNB9) you used in the video.
Can you please help me, i have a problem: i don’t get why I have the avionics all in black, i think it’s a bug (i can’t even switch from nav to gps because even that switch is black)
Sorry for my English, 4:41 when I enable APP and Autopilot, the hold altittude and vertical speed disconect automatically, this not occurs to you... By other side, which is the moment that I need to be 3000 above the airpot? When ILS signal sounds? when you arrive to the ILS? because in your case when you arrive the ILS you are 1800 feet above the airport. Could you help me please) and thank you very much
This is my landing. Flew with KAL for 10 year retiring in 2018. I did ICN-YYZ flights monthly as I live in Toronto. Was one of the few who used the wing inspection lights. A common practice day or night for most airlines but not Korean Air. You can see them on as it passes by and the ground cover photo.
man o man. FSX comes with a nice flightschool. Where you can learn how to control the plane and learn how the gps works. And people are just too lazy to check that out. But they are not too lazy to sit and watch a video which does give some basics, but not what you wanna know to control the plane as one wants to. Anyways, it is funny. Btw, the GPS can not control the altitude. It is ILS that can control the altitude. And this airport does not have ILS. Plus, if you want to use ILS you need to set the Nav radio to the correct freq. You probably already know all of this, but anyways.....
ps: if you wanna learn how the ILS exactly works, gimme a call. It is easy. Even with a realistic 747, like the pmdg 747 which you could buy for fsx. You just need to know a few basics to know how to fly a perfect ILS approach. But, this does not mean it will land automatically. Only addon planes (in FSX) can land automatically. They have been programmed to flare at the right moment. The standard planes do not flare when they should. And this can cause the gear to collapse if you let the standard plane land on its own. ILS also does not mean you are lined up. There are off set ILS systems, like at Innsbrück. Or at the old Kai Tak where you do the Checkerboard approach, 088 in towards the checkerboard. And then at the checkerboard you bank towards the right to a heading of 135 to line up with the runway. Beautiful approach. ICAO VHHX. (in the old FSX you can get an addon which looks amazing for what was possible back then. Works perfectly including the approach. ((comes with charts)) I dunno about the new FSX if it has such addons already, etc. Would be nice if it has. Anyways, nice video, but this aint supposed to be a game. It is supposed to be a simulator. And if you really wanna learn how to fly, you need to either go to a flightschool or incase of sim flying you need to check the flightschool that comes with the package. It teaches you all the basics in a very short and pretty enjoyable experience. But this is just my opinion.
Unfortunately most of them got replaced by the 787-9. SU-GCK is the only one operating, and it mainly operates routes from Cairo to Saudi Arabian cities.

Phenomenal tutorial! But I have a query, OK so the b738 and a321 have a "knob" that sets the course heading but the b747 doesn't so, how do I set the course heading on a 747?
@@namedropper9237 yes you are correct, it turns out the default 747 doesn't have a course hold knob hence, to set it one has to hover the cursor/pointer over "CRS" on the NAV display. Doing so shall basically result in a dialogue box appearing on the cursor, bearing either a positive (+) or negative (-) sign, and to change the course one has to simply scroll either upwards or in the opposite direction.
I tried this but I found myself above the glideslope and overshoot the runway because I'm too high and it doesn't control my altitude. I'm not doing anything wrong, but the ATC gives me ILS clearance too early and I'm too high when I near the runway. I can't find a fix for it on the forums, so can you or anyone else tell me if there is something to do about it?
Have you tried at multiple airports? Sometimes the ils don't work well at certain airports. Make sure your speed is good and that you pushed the approach button.
@@aviationnation7798 Most airports I tried it at were Heathrow and John F. Kennedy Intl. Perhaps I should slow down and lower the gear and flaps early and then I may not overdo the glideslope. FSX is still the World's leading flight simulator, but it does have troubles although there are fixes for some things.

Yes I know is has, along with frame rate and graphics! and yes I am just getting over a cold. I will for sure do some payware reviews. Just wait until FS20 comes out :)
