I’m sorry, but whoever tiled all of the bathrooms did an absolute T R A S H job. It looks absolutely horrendous, and there will be water damage everywhere. If it looks that bad in a video, you know it’s much worse in person. Also, ungrouted, “luxury” vinyl tile in a bathroom is a NO go. More water damage. That will end up needing torn up, sub-floor replaced, and redone within 2 years. Spend a tiny bit extra for real tile, properly seal everything, and it’ll save the poor people who bought that house money, as well as you, because you replacing it with the crappy, un-grouted “tile”, it’s going to get torn up almost right away anyways. Therefore a complete waste of money on your part.

I love what you did with this house! The black railings look amazing, really makes the entrance gorgeous. Love the choices of cabinets, lighting in dining is amazing, as well as tall storage cabinets. I'd put a coffee bar in the middle, maybe decoration would be better, but love coffee 😊. Love any wood accents. Bathrooms done beautifully as well. Great job, especially from where it was!

Beautiful and well thought out kitchen. Thank you for sharing all of your tips and suggestions, they are very helpful. Question- how many inches do you have between your island and the range wall? Does it ever feel cramped with the sink opposite the stove?
@livinginspiredbymom5445
@livinginspiredbymom5445 Год назад
Thank you! That area between the oven and island is quite large - 69” so just under 6 feet. It’s larger than most kitchens but we had plenty of room and had the luxury of being able to do that. So it is not cramped at all. A space of 48” is usually roomy enough, so you want to try to get as close to that as possible, or larger if you can.
@martyo169
@martyo169 Год назад
@@livinginspiredbymom5445 Thank you so much. We have a similar layout but the space between our stove and sink is only 39" so it gets crowded when there is more than one person working in the kitchen at the same time. Sounds like moving the island over a foot or two may help with that problem.

Great video. I'm in the process of choosing materials. What's the best way to start the process? what do you order first. I've heard its best to get the appliances first and work around those dimensions, do you agree?
@livinginspiredbymom5445
@livinginspiredbymom5445 Год назад
Unless you are getting appliances that are not standard size, you don’t need to work around that. You should choose your cabinet finish, then flooring, then counters, then backsplash, then paint. Handles and lighting and appliances can be chosen last. Hope this answers your question! Have fun and enjoy the process!

Thanks for the wonderful comments about renovation of your kitchen. Just going to renovate our new house. Like to ask if it's expensive to do the pot filler? Because to install the hot water would be extensive work...
@livinginspiredbymom5445
@livinginspiredbymom5445 Год назад
Thank you! That’s exciting you are getting ready to renovate. I am not exactly sure the cost of putting in the pot filler as it was all part of the plumbing budget. It is just one water line - cold water. So there is not too much plumbing involved. And the cost of the faucet itself was around $150.

Wow, congratulations from Minneapolis, Minnesota, on your beautiful new kitchen! Brava! Well done!! 🌲❄🌲🎇🎊✨🎉💚🎆💚🎉✨🎊🎇🌲❄🌲 Please, would you tell me, how deep is the seating space at your counter?🤔 How many inches did you grant for knee room?🙂 My contractor is trying to talk me into making do with only 12 inches, & my sweetheart & I keep telling him that we would prefer at least 16, or even 17 inches, which is what we used to have, before our kitchen was gutted to the studs. 😳 Please tell us, what did you decide works for you?😀

Beautiful kitchen, thanks for talking through your design. We're hoping to remodel our kitchen in the next year and I'm currently working through the design process. I'm curious how much you use your pot filler? My wife would like to have one and they do seem to make a lot of sense but I'm not sure how much it will be used...if it is a good use of a tight resources or not. I love the big drawers and am planning for some in our design. One trend I don't see in your kitchen is small pullouts next to your range for spices and/or cooking utensils. Is that something you'd add if you were to do it again?
@livinginspiredbymom5445
@livinginspiredbymom5445 Год назад
Thank you! Plan plan plan, you won’t regret it. I use my pot filler probably once or twice a week. I also use it to fill my watering can to water my plants because it fills up fast. I’m glad I got it. As for the spice cabinet I prefer them on a lazy susan in my corner cabinet. That’s definitely just a personal preference. And I like my utensils on the counter - that’s just what I’m used to - so having them stored in a cabinet just isn’t convenient for me. If you like a clean uncluttered counter you may want them in a cabinet. It’s wise to think through all these things beforehand so you get what you want. I’m sure your new kitchen will be amazing!

I know this type of house as a "split entry" and my last house was much like yours. I know my current house as a "raised ranch." The main floor is at entry level but because the house is on a slope, the bottom/basement level is only half under ground. This allows us to have full windows and exterior doors down there. I love my raised ranch but I didn't love my split-level. Wrangling small children, groceries and a stroller on the entry landing was a nightmare. That said, you renovated yours very nicely!
@livinginspiredbymom5445
@livinginspiredbymom5445 Год назад
