We use protective film on the windshield over here to reduce the chipping of the windshield. try it, it works quite well surprisingly. I also did that to the door hinges because started chipping on mine.
Thanks for sharing your insights on this. These instructions, and especially the actual demo while driving, completely explained how to use the transfer case efficiently and effectively on our “new” 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited North Edition. Our Jeep does have the 5 position transfer case, and it was especially helpful that you mentioned the difference and included how to maneuver with those trim options. I have to say, I have been driving since 1972, and have owned various kinds of makes and models of foreign and domestic provenance. This Jeep is the first vehicle I’ve owned or driven with a 4WD drivetrain. In the “Dream car” category, our Jeep Wrangler Sahara is the “dream vehicle” I never knew I wanted. Until I got one of my own! (Those “ducks” though… 😮) 😉 😊 🙌🏼
Thank you for making/sharing this video. For anyone doing this job on a 00-01 Grande Cherokee WJ 4.0L-I was able to complete the entire job of changing the spark plugs without removing (unplugging) the coil pack or the throttle assembly saving a ton of time. Had to move a couple of hoses and take a couple cables out of the brackets to create a bit more room. Overall the job was much more simple than I expected after watching videos like this. The job took about 2hrs.
Really helpful explanation! I’m thinking of buying a jeep next month. With test driving, I notice the steering wheel doesn’t automatically return to center when I turn, I have to physically turn the wheel and then turn it back. The dealership said this is because a jeep is a true 4x4. If I used the jeep in 2 wheel drive, do you know if it would fix this?
Lol. There is no wiggling the dipstick tube. I actually pulled my dipstick tube through the engine bay and have the whole thing out. Torched it, lube, u name it and it still won't budge
I have a 2001 XJ in need of major rust removal/repair. I live in Maryland about 1.5 hours from Morgantown. Can you tell me the name of the shop you used?
Go to cali if you want a clean one lmao, nothing rusts, many dont actually offroad and ppl are too snobby for them, clean 150k no issues run bout 3k if you are patient and remember if its up a week later for a specific price, it will never sell for that price!
Thanks for the video. One trick a mechanic told me ones in order to go easily into low4wd is to put it in neutral while you push the brake. If it won't get into that mode and is hard ,put it in D and then in N,even a few times quickly and then the gear will smoothly go into low4wd.Sorry for my English.
Im here in 2024 cauz found some nice RT from 2018 and I love the idea. Not into racing but just wanna live the dream :D Amazing and knowledgeable video!!
Wheel hop when you are turning left or right, comes from the u joints on the front axle, behind the wheels, which are probably binding up. That is the nature of u joints. The u joints binding up gets more pronounced as the u joint begins to fail. Get them checked. Try not to do extreme turns and that will prolong their life. If the u joints have grease nipples, pump some grease in them at every oil change. Good video. Thanks.
Fan clutch test?: replace after 150,000. My Y2K-XJ ac fan doesn't kick on. But neither does the blower. Jeeps eat thermostats. Especially if you did a heater core bypass.
