I grew up in a rural area of Carlton, Oregon called Finn Hill because of all the Finnish people who immigrated there. NONE of them danced like this, but they did know how to make prune juice!
This is an old traditional Finnish song, likely originating from the era when Finland was occupied by the Swedish troops (time before 1809). It reflects the strong decison power that women had in the old agricultural society. I would hope this presentation empowers the Russian women to fight against the current meaningles war against Ukraine.
