I have a picture from a festival in NC in the 70’s with Doc and Merle. I was probably 3 or 4 at the time. My dad was a huge fan. A guy he worked with had gone to the Gov Morehead School for the Blind in Raleigh NC and helped teach Doc guitar. The man’s name was Paul Montgomery, but those around Raleigh in the 70’s knew him as Uncle Paul from a children’s tv show taped at WRAL ch 5. God rest Doc and Paul.
