I’m not sure on the details of the build. The guy we bought it from was not only a driver and a farmer but also an incredible mechanic and he did the whole out of frame himself. All I know was the injectors, and turbo were definitely big, being that you had to keep that truck falling back into gear over about 1400 rpm or smoke would get excessive.
It also have a very large FASS fuel system and some good tuning in the ECM. It had tall gears as well. It would bury the needle in the speedometer and wrap about 3/4 of the way back to 0. Pipes were short 6 inch bullhaulers
Do you hear her ...? sittin there saying Less get it,less get it, those N-14's have the sweetest sounding idle... but they mean what they say...less get it,less get it on,
john finelli it had a full EGR delete, k&n air filter, 5 inch straight exhaust, and an SCT livewire with custom tuning from innovative Diesel. It would run close to 100 in a 1/4 mile. I think about 96. That’s fast for a 1 ton van
@@juker953 what size down pipe did you put on it? I could only get a 3.5 to fit. Which I'm pissed about because I want 4" lol. What were you running up against?
john finelli it just had a stock downpipe. I found a place that made custom 4 inch down pipes for the vans but they cost more than the whole 5 inch kit did so I decided it wasn’t worth it. That van hauled ass with the work I had done so I wouldn’t worry about it. As far as I know 4 inch downpipe is the biggest you can do on a Ford. I’ve seen plenty of 5 inch DP on a dodge but not on a ford
@@juker953 juker953 yeah my uncle welded up a 3.5" exhaust that dumps right out of the side. It's alright but I still wonder if a 4" would make it noticeably louder. I havent got a clear answer yet from anyone. I just want so badly for my van to be obnoxious lol. I'm sure in the end it wouldnt be worth changing the down pipe my uncle made it's better then stock and he put some good work into... anyways I just ordered a livewire sct for my van as well. I am beyond excited to get it. I am going with some custom tunes with innovative diesel you have inspired me.
Couldn't tell ya. I don't have the truck anymore and I never did ask about the sticks. I'm sure they were big. Put your foot down and it would smoke like a train while it spooled but that big turbo cleaned it up no problem.
It was tuned at 620 from what the previous owner said. Had a big turbo and big injectors. I've driven quite a few 550 trucks that didn't pull anywhere near as good as this truck did so I believe it was every bit of 620
yeah. those n14s has a distinct sound to them .I wonder if you put the same hp isx with those stacks would you get the same sound...Love the sound of the n14...
Loved the N14 I drove for the last couple years. 515 horse. Sucker was reliable as all get out. BUT it didn't have the torque my CAT c15 550 horse does.
