Watching 'The Empire Strikes Back' in concert in Henderson, NV on May 4th, 2023 was like the first time I saw the film on opening night in 1981, the audience cheered and applauded when their favorite character arrived just like they did then. I haven't had this much fun watching a movie in many years.
Christaan, if u have it available, can u PLEASE post a video with the rest of what u recorded for this concert! Or just the rest of the Escape from Hoth sequence before they enter the Asteroid Field. I very much enjoy ur recording and the presentation of this orchestra. It is wonderful! Or maybe email it to me if u can't post it. I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@Christiaan.barnard Lol, darn. Ok, well thx for responding anyway and thanks so much for posting this incredible concert!!! It was a real treat especially with some good headphones! I have checked out many live score-to-screen concerts and this orchestra had excellent dynamics, timing, conducting and just a great duplication and sound in general. Thx again!!!
@@davidlaplant1164 In regards to "I have checked out many live score-to-screen concerts", what are the best you've seen? I've been to Empire Strikes Back and i'm seeing Fellowship of the Ring next year. I want to see more, so which are the best in your eyes?
They play the entire film. Seen both Empire and Jedi with a live orchestra and it is rare that they are not playing! The challenge for the orchestra is that it was not written to be played back to back to back and it can mean that it gets quite frantic for them.
This is the best one of these available. You hit most of the best parts here. Thanks so much for including the escape from Hoth at 2:10 to 4:20. Not many people realize what's going on in the orchestra here
Hi Christiaan. A charity I support in Tokaanu called Te Puna Kaiora Charitable Trust are putting a video together to talk about the services we provide to Maori in the area and would like to ask if you would be opposed to us using this footage. I can be contacted on lachlan.sloan@tepunakaiora.nz thank you in advance.
3:25 onwards is just pure Star Wars, and that blast of the orchestra as the Falcon roars away.....chills...just chills. Thanks for posting, this is my go to video when I need poooowwwerr.
