Yes! It’s hard to accept that action from a husband/ a man. In some ways, I totally understand his feeling at that time and we have to realize 1 thing that the nervousness is a part of a warrior like Daemon🙏❤️
Actually love that scene. Yes it's uncomfortable, no I would never want to have my husband reach out against me that way, but let me explain. Daemon regularly shows that his response to being hurt or his response to having an emotional reaction is violence. It's what he's good at, he's not a diplomat, he is a warrior. He fights, he hits, he lashes out. To him, and to rhaenyra, that moment was the first time they both realized that Viserys never intended to make daemon his heir. No matter how many children he lost, no matter how hopeless getting a son seemed, Viserys never told Daemon that prophecy. I also note to the theory that daemon intentionally thwarted himself being heir because he really did not want to be king, he just wanted to be close to his brother, so if that's true this would also mean daemon would have realized viserys was never going to make him heir in the first place so he was essentially thwarting nothing. Anyways, he felt betrayed in the moment by both viserys and now rhaenyra who was sounding exactly like viserys, he responded emotionally the way he always does. And this is where I love this scene. Rhaenyras eyes. Rhaenyras body language, her turning her head the slightest bit and smiling as she realized the only reason daemon is doing this is because of exactly my listed reasons above. She knows he responds emotionally with violence as well. So on this moment, she too realizes that viserys did make her heir on a whim, or as a slight, but because he truly felt she was the key to the prophecy
