Hi! I saw on this channel that there's a lot of shows from west Hollywood around 1991 - 1994, did you (or anyone you know, like the "video bob" you mentioned in the description of a few other videos) ever film the band Weezer? they were just starting out around that time and frequented places like club lingerie, videos of their early days are super hard to find.

Originally by The Shadows from The Young Ones. A 1961 UK teen movie with Cliff Richard and The Shadows, to whom he credits a major influence via Hank Marvin, the lead guitarist of The Shadows.

A year later the also performed in KXLU's SurfWave radio hosted by James Dunfrund. Did this number, a couple of Shadows, Beck's Bolero and other great instrumentals.

I wish the lead guitarist would have turned it down a bit he drowned out everything else

Another viewer who didn't read the Description: "BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THE GUITAR BEING TOO LOUD: The camcorder was in front of the amps. The P.A. speakers were overhead, aimed at the crowd in the room. Be happy that you can see him this close up, in a small club, not some little dot on an arena stage."

Really great that you captured all of this period Earl. One correction in the credits, the bass player is George Woods.

Thanks. I didn't recognize the bass guy, but other people said it was Lucas Cheadle. I have corrected the text on this Web page. Can't revise the end credits within the video itself without deleting this one and uploading a new version.

I was there that night. The house band for Jack Tempchin’s regular Monday night gig was: Waddy Wachtel guitar Rick Rosas bass (Neil Young) Bernard Fowler backup vocals (Rolling Stones) Stan Lynch drums (Tom Petty) The who’s who of rock and roll would come sit in with Jack when they were in town. Johnny Rivers was a regular and got up to sing a few songs that night. I got to hang out out front between sets and talked with all the guys. Everyone was very friendly. Randy and Jack were real genuine people. They also all signed a telecaster I had in my trunk.

I forgot to mention…it was a free gig, just a bunch of working musicians getting out to play on a Monday night. I went back several times when was in town.

What strikes me after reading and seeing a lot about Randy's life, he changed so much when he lived with his second wife. He got more struggles with his health, is that a coincidence?
