I typically lean toward more horror-y weird books also, but if you're looking for more literary-based ones in the future I would recommend The Hike by Drew Magary and One's Company by Ashley Huston!
I had to skip to Nothing but Blackened Teeth cos I don't know a single person, including myself, who liked it. I'm lucky I know Japanese but the author not translating nor glossary-ing the Japanese words and such was a BAD choice imo.
Hello, I recently wrote a book that talks about the ten greatest civilizations in human history. I want to market it and hope to achieve 1,000 sales through it, but I don’t know how to do that. I have no problem getting half the profit from the book Between me and whoever will market it or upload it to his store as if it were his own book, I am sorry for the long message but I do not know how to market it😢
This was my first time watching your channel and I loved the way you explain things! I literally cannot answer a single question regarding the plot of any book I have read or am currently reading 😂
"Continuing to read despite being terrified that we're never gonna read an all time favorite book ever again" is a perfect descriptor of my reading year last year. So far this year has been better but I totally know the feeling 💀 I hope the second half picks up for you!
I feel the same way that you do! 2nd book felt more convenient rather than Pip finding out stuff, 3rd TOTALLY felt like Pip was not an active participant in the story, rather a vessel to get us to where Holly Jackson wanted the plot to go. I just miss the Pip from book one who found things out by being crazy sneaky and smart, rather than getting tripped up easily, or waiting for evidence to be handed to her.
Hi hello me again just watching some of your older videos. I loved night watching as well!! 💕💕 I loved a dowry of blood but have no heard good things about an education in malice
This was my issue with A dowry of blood. She kept referring to them as siblings and I would have loved it otherwise.. I haven't read any other books by them but now that I know it's in two books.😬
I'm dnf ing a lot. I was highly anticipating Riot Act by Sarah Laviere. Yes, but it should have been an adult book. But I can appreciate that it's ya , cause the kids need inspiration to fight back again fascism. It's an alternative history book in the 80s with a dictator
"Story of the Eye" by Georges Bataille is THE most unhinged book I have ever read. I cannot in good faith "recommend" it but I think you would be entertained (& it's a classic).
I should watch more of the video before I comment but as someone who is currently entering the ✨weird girl era✨ I highly recommend The Eyes are the Best Part. It's super weird (also gross and gory at times) and I absolutely devoured it in 24 hours
Love this video! For the next one could you introduce the books a bit before you give your ratings?? I’m a listener not a watcher and I got so confused when you started cause I didn’t know what book you were talking about! 😂
You’re so right 😂 this was my first time doing it like this, but I’m a “listen to RU-vid while I get stuff done” kinda person and I would have been totally confused too!
@@lexaraereads 👁some other weird books you might like are Our Wives Under the Sea (which is literary thriller) and Chlorine (which is lit fic so not weird in a supernatural way but weird in a lit fic way, if you know what I mean? lol).
I have the paper white! I can highlight but it’s just one color since it’s black and white. And it lets you type but I swear it’s like 1 letter every 3 seconds 😂😂
@@lexaraereadsohh ok! well maybe if you ever have another book you love and want to highlight you can do it on the kindle app on your phone? but also…I wanted to say that I teared up when you were talking about that vulnerable yet amazing yet terrifying time of girlhood 😂 you are a poet!
I'm not sure if this actually fits the weird girl vibes, but I love weird girl books and am desperate to get more people to read Your Shadow Half Remains by Sunny Moraine. It's a novella, so it's a quick read. I spent a chunk of that book wondering if I had taken an edible and forgot. (I had not.)
I also loved House of Hollow, The Honeys and Bunny. Some other weird vibes books I'd recommend: Wilder Girls by Rory Power Into the Sublime by Kate A. Boorman Head Like a Hole by Andrew Van Wey youthjuice by e k. sathue Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang
I actually gasped when you showed how little the priority of the orange tree actually had stuff happening lmao that's how i felt about ballad of songbirds and snakes
