Hey Gary - nice set up on the trike. Can’t wait to see your walk around review. I think I shouldn’t have cancelled my order. I’m having serious buyer’s remorse.
Love my Trihauler Pro also! I do wish they had made it a seven speed though. Thanks for the videos and I will be following to see what all you do to yours! 😊
Gary, If you rode a standard, Delta tricycle (not a Big Wheel) as a 3, 4 or 5-year-old and attempted to corner on it above 3 mph, you will be able to appreciate the physics of Any Delta-configuration trike. Recumbent trikes -- whether Delta or Tadpole configuration-- have site lines and cager/truck driver visibility problems. The Leaning Tadpole you tested is the Only trike that even comes close to the University of Wisconsin Engineering Department's Panther Tilting Trike (circa 2019) introduced by Professor Dressel. Trek funded the racing efforts (see their logo of a rear "sail") and my local (Trek Corp-owned) dealer was unable to scare up any information. Read the Panther Tilting Trike analysis and rationale of All Forms of Tricycles extant currently. It is darn near brilliant. Also, few to none of the RU-vid presenters discuss perineum pain and perch-bones pressing on blood vessels when Upright Bike Saddles are used instead of "lawn chair" style seats.
@@IMBruceECLECTIC I actually never meant for this to be Saturday ride, I was just taking it out the day I unboxed it. Between the rain and my pain. I did not get a ride in this week so I threw this together with what I had..
@@Ebiketips1 you know, it’s not that bad on the weekend. It’s going to work every day that kills me. Unfortunately I don’t have a desk job. I paint cars for a living. Lots of bending, which really aggravates it. The doctor was going to give me a note so I can get out of work for two months. I think if I took two months off, I just retire.😂
@@GarysE-BikeAdventures I refer back to the TK1 review done by Richard Curtis and his complaint about the 'ghosting'. I believe he relies on you to do his "heavy" work(?)😉Did you ever replace a crankset for him?
@@boomerboon1946 he lives in Florida I live in New Hampshire He has his neighbor do the heavy work and he consult me about different things if you up the freewheel on the back of the TK1 to an 11/34 you’ll get a little out of that too I did change it on my wife’s
Thanks for this review, you saved me from a $ disaster. I was able to cancel my order just two weeks before it reached my door. I was hoping it would be as stable as advertised, not tippy! I would love to find a trike that I would feel comfortable riding with my 15lb fur baby.
One of the things I appreciate about this bike is the use of chrome. Very retro. I wish more bikes would use chrome handlebars and seat tubes instead of black which are so easy to scratch, and when they do get scratched they look like crap.
So your wiggle trick worked for me. Then I'm still pissed off 3 weeks and a dozen hours I've screwed with this my billing time is 600.00 an hour I'm over it I'm sending it to the attorneys
Thanks. I will try that right now. So I don't think I trust this thing I bought a seat with a backrest you cannot map the damn thing? That combined with the big dent in the fender that came with it, I think I'm done. I'm done with these Chinese corporations coming in here and rape pillage and plundering senior citizens... I hope Trump puts a 1000% interest on the sobs. The CCP has been invading and raping this country for many decades. Not that guy....TRADE WAR!!!
Gary, the smallest bump with baskets and my Lectric XPeak step-through takes a horrible wobble. I was lucky not to have fallen off. It is also noticeable starting under peddle power. Now I see it is a known problem, and also your feet hitting the front wheel if peddling around a corner. Congrats on resolving your wobble, but the Cane Creek Hellbender 70 is not currently available. Do you happen to know of any other supplier of a suitable product? In good conscience, without removing the baskets I can no- longer share this bike with my wife. Additionally, FYI, I first installed the Lectric comfort seat with a backrest, before fitting the baskets and it also encourages a mild steering twitch. Can't believe the bike is so sensitive. Excellent videos by the way. Maurice (Pennsylvania, US)
@@mauriceoneill-thequietstor4535 this is the top bearing. This is the one you need to stop the wobble. The other one is a whole set, but you don’t need the whole set. This will do the job and it looks like you get it early August or you could even pay extra to have it shipped in July. amzn.to/3So1W6B
That is by far the best instruction video I’ve seen on riding a trike. Very well done. There is something I would like to see you address and that’s the issue people are reporting on bearing issues. Both the XP and the Mooncool.
@@kelalamusic9258 I honestly wish somebody had the problem near me so that I could fix it or I had the problem so that I could figure it out. It’s definitely something that I want to do. I had my XP making squeaking clicking noise. I actually thought it was loose spokes and I found I just needed to oil the bearings I haven’t had a problem since.
@@kelalamusic9258 honestly it only wobble slightly I can live with it. if I had paid for the trike, I probably would’ve complained, but it was free for me to do a review and videos like this with.
@@brightwiccaorignal1 so the fenders come off a XPremium because that bike has 4 inch tires. I think I had to drill one hole in it that was it front fender bolt of right on. I actually told Lectric I bought a used bike they didn’t have fenders. Could I please buy them? They sent them to me for free because they’re an awesome company.
@@iancpaul I just put a second battery on a Mooncool cargo bike. Your expedition has the same XT 60 connector so it could be done about the same way. I’ll find a link and post it on here.
Very nicely done, Gary. The only thing I don’t like is the battery restricts the step thru area for sure. The rear cargo area as long as it is could be somewhat of a problem somebody trying to get their leg over that. Would you agree?
@@seniorebikeadventures yeah it’s definitely not the optimal place for it it’s too bad. They didn’t leave more room where the other battery is, like on the Lectric cargo bike
