I like how he keeps saying ‘your ears might be telling you different’ - when I flew I kept getting a sinking feeling and it’s only after I looked it up I found it’s extremely common as your middle ear gets confused by the changes in sounds.
I have no fear of flying but would love this commentary. Love everything about flying, the take off and landing and the turbulence too. It’s so exciting. I had a 5 hour return flight 3 days ago and can’t wait to get back on a plane. My tip is to educate yourself on the plane, the noises and how everything works. Knowing what is happening and what to expect will help. Good luck in overcoming your fear to everyone affected.
Thank you for your comment, much appreciated too. My biggest fears of flying is the take off itself. I never liked the feeling of leaving the ground and the speed and forced when leaving the ground feel so wrong. Just this alone put a fear into me. My other main biggest fear is what if something like 9/11 happened again. That really worries me so much on planes.
@@kindnessark8064 I wish I knew what to say to help you. It must be so stressful. I remember meeting a couple on holiday a few years ago. The wife spent the whole 2 weeks worrying about the flight home and had to have medication from her doctor. She didn’t enjoy a day of their holiday because of wanting to get the return flight over with as soon as possible. I don’t remember what her specific fear of flying was.
In 3 weeks time I go on my first flight in 18 years and to say I'm terrified is an understatement. I'm going to save this video and although I'm flying out of a different airport, I think the captains commentary will definitely help to keep me calm. At least I'll know what's going on.
I replayed it when i went for my first flight after this and it really helped. Its also okay to tell the air hosts that you are a nervous flyer they are super helpful as they deal with it daily
I go on holiday in 3 weeks time and I'm terrified and already getting myself all worked up. I'm going to save this video and listen to it on take off. Although I'm flying out of a different airport, at least I'll know what's going on. I really hope you have a wonderful holiday. X
@@annwooldridge5834. I just keep trying to imagine myself sitting on the balcony or by the pool with a drink in my hand, lapping up the sunshine and I can only make that a reality by getting on the plane. I really do hope you have a wonderful time. X
Captain Steve (the course leader) is in the flight deck with the flight crew but he is in the jump seat (behind the pilots) so is concentrating on helping the passengers by explaining what’s going on, the actual captain & first officer are busy flying the aircraft so they will be talking to each other and ATC.
Geniunely will be the best thing you ever do!! Dont be afraid to take comfort items if they will help you! I took my favourite plushie and there is 0 judgement from anyone as everyone is in the same boat (well...plane heheh). Promise yourself you will at least sit in the plane! Thats the major step! Tell yourself 'its okay to just sit there' because once you're inside its a lot less scary (and no dw they wont make you stay on the plane once you are on it. You still have plenty of time to get off if you really cant)
Amazing. They explain every little detail about the plane and flying and tell you what every noise and movement is as you go so you know its meant to happen its really worth it
@chiller632 oh yeah thats definitely a big part of it. The idea of take off for me was a huge part of my fear and there is definitely still an anxiety there about it but i no longer fear it
Nope lol it was a complete suprise but was incredible especially when the dhol foundation only found out they were replacing the proclaimers 2 nights before and threw this together. An incredible show
@CaptainLokii it was an incredible night, an amazing festival. We met Johnny Kalsi on the day and had a lovely chat with him and he hinted then they were going to do something. A surreal but wonderful moment, and loved how SK managed to keep it so dead pan and terribly terribly English :)
haha what a performance. the bassline sounds really tight. i like the cockney hitcher :) awesome character, but in my opinion tony harrison is the best.
i love listening to Noel Fielding on the radio/talk shows and seeing his stand-up and him the 2 years he was on Big fat quiz of the year, but i just don't get this...
I think Noel based this experience of bewildered confused/hating audiences in that episode when the four of them got up on stage doing that Crimp-off thing to show those doppleganger fakes who's boss. That clip was used (along with the shorter Eels song) to promote Mighty Boosh's premier on Adult Swim in the US last month. My friend saw the commericials; he didn't get it at all, particularly the jacket on/ jacket off bit. I have to pretend I'm not a booshie around him! He'll suspect soon enough
