My friends young dog, jumped up on the stove. It was still hot. He fly off so carelessly because of his paws burning that he broke bones. It was the weekend & very late @ night so they had to take him to emergency care. I totally blame them. I somehow instinctively knew to keep a hot burner covered with a lid and or heavy pot until it cooled, even tho my pets never jumped on the stove. Maybe that is why.
This is like our house! 3 black labs ago, I reached down to get the rest of a meal out of the oven. I stood & looked down at the 2 plates beside me on the counter & the rolls I’d cooked were gone. I never heard or felt anything! Dumped the salad & got new plates & started over. Dogs weren’t allowed in kitchen anymore during mealtimes. Current lab stole a half of a tri-tip off the counter. I caught her coming out of the kitchen about midnight and she dropped it, wagged her tail & looked at me like “hi”.
I made the mistake of leaving a pad and pen on the kitchen table I came home and my husky had gotten both down he chewed the pen on the carpet which I was able to clean up luckily cleaning him up was harder.
This is very dangerous, there are security videos showing how dogs have started house fires by grappling around the cook stove to get at food or something left on top, and accidentally turning on one of the burners! Turning on the HOT water faucet by accident is another one, and it's one I've had happen with my dogs. All my gas stove knobs are removed to a drawer so an accident cant happen.
I don't know about the FBI comment but this was an obvious case of entrapment. You had the camera all setup and waiting for him/her . Smart dog though and that pot had to go it was just another obstacle
