I was all about the wrx as a kid but here in new zealand its hard to find a subaru that hasnt been molested by 20 owners who think theyre mekanikz lol (mechanic) i found a tidy evo 4 for 8k
Had my Evo 4 since 2008 in white to go with the rally scheme at the time. The engines suffered on the 4 with crank walk and after 2 attempts of rebuilding it I went for the more reliable Evo 8 mr engine instead. Not original I know but it’s a hell of a thing now especially with the reliability. Also drives like a rally car if you really go for it.
@@thepaddockco I brought it home🤗, almost 10 years since I last had one, only 3 owners since it was registered into the country in 98, It wasnt hard to do the homework I managed to speak to all 3 previous owners Ireland is a small country😂, it spent the last 6 years in dry storage 168K(km) on the clock, very reasonably priced as the owner now resides in Australia and had the car in his ownership the last 16 years and just wanted it gone🤞🏽
An amazing timeless beautiful rally legend from Mitsubishi Motors Japan , the MITSUBISHI LANCER ......proud to own this beautiful legend. Excellent video & nice presentation. Lots of love from INDIA & UAE.
@@thepaddockco I actually only prefer the sound of the 911 but just about all car videos have music. When I drive a 911 I don't use the sound system and I never answer any calls.
@@thepaddockco it's quite a common mistake that people make with Evos. The Evo III dominated the 96 season with Makinen behind the wheel, the Evo IV brought in a completely different bodyshell, the engine was rotated 180 degrees for better handling & it also reduced pipework in the engine bay. AYC was a world first for the road car in GSR spec, not the RS model. You also say "Lancia" at the end of the video & not Lancer 🤭
The silver frame around the windows realty sets off the iconic shape of a 911. Most guys pick matte or gloss black but the silver is the best way to make the car stand out as something special.
My wife and I both drove this car at the Alpine dealership launch in Aberdeen. The fact that she liked driving it (nearly) as much as me sealed the deal and we bought the A110 GT they had in stock. I went with the GT because it’s my everyday car and we both wanted the easier seat adjustment and seat heating. It’s really great to drive.
@@thepaddockco Fascination with speed. Even if the breadvan breaks 175mph, I still rather enjoy the driving experience of the E46 M3. One owner car, 2002 M3, 170,000 miles.
Good review this. I drove this very car the other day when my own A110 was in being serviced. I took an extended lunch to give it a belt around the countryside. Because it’s the demonstrator (and whoever specced my car was willfully poor!) the whole car is a bit nicer and tighter than mine (a 2020 "Pure" edition). I have a list… • nicer interior, where mine has leather this has alcantara including the dashboard, steering wheel(which is lovely to grip - although I’d be mad nervous about wear), sides of the seats, door panels, pillars, roof lining • nicer sounding exhaust, especially when you floor it - this one difference alone meant I’d be enquiring about a new one when I took this back. It sounds AMAZING. Clicks and pops are a lot cleaner somehow. • better infotainment system (I think. It must be!) • reversing camera - mine doesn't have that. • feels grippier on the road, maybe slightly tweaked/lower suspension? Really felt like you could take any corner at any speed. (Until it got wet, which adds to the fun tbh because it's very handleable) • tighter steering feels more planted on the road, less affected by wind etc on the fast main roads • slightly more responsive pick up but gear changes were much harsher. (Although I was driving it in a manner I don’t drive my own car! 😅) • better storage (in that it has ANY!) center console is better designed and it has the velcro bag thing between the seats • nicer floor mats • has the aluminium passenger footwell kick plate stuff, which is nicer • orangered stitching looks great (although I do like the blue too so 🤷if this is a +/-) • longer flappy paddles (I think) • automatic retracting mirrors (mine I have to manually push in!) • auto-dimming interior mirror - which is also a nicer shape than mine • this one ha the upgraded sound system, which has better subwoofers, although maxed out it wasn’t any louder I don’t think • better fit. panel gaps are all a bit cleaner/tighter • would have preferred it have the French tricolor blue/white/red rather than the carbon/carbon/orangered
Thanks for the comment Billy! Glad you are already representing the A110! This demonstrator was packed full of toys! Make sure you give the dealership a call, the team will be able to search the stock based on the spec of the demonstrator and maybe even get you in a car sooner! Thanks again for watching our video!
