I suffer from depression, which I developed after losing close friends. This song brings me back to the warm memories of bygone days. I don't regret it. Thank you for your creativity. I would like the world to hear you. Believing in something I'm falling.
You're the only thing I know I can be sure of Call me crazy, you're the one that I want more of And when we're walking there's not a cloud in the way of my sunny day I know they're talking, there's not a thing they could say That could stand in the way of our love, love, of our love, love Happy just to stay with you here in a bubble Let their words roll off me when they say that you're just trouble And I'll keep walking, there's not a doubt in the way of our sunny day They can keep talking, there's not a thing they could say That could get in the way of this love, love, of our love, love Cause when we're walking, there's not a cloud in the way of our sunny day I'm sure they're talking, there's not a thing they could say That could stand in the way of our love, love, love, my love
Came across this track during early Covid and wow. I played this on the way to my job interview. A fantastic 1 hour drive with this song on repeat. Superperfection is awesome too
Super random this, but I wish I'd had this track when I was sat, staring-out at a red sunset from the top of Lydstep headland in 1985 at about 13yo. "Cornwall Blank" by America was my go-to then...
When I first heard this track, it dawned on me that there was something special about it. I’ve heard a million songs that open with an acoustic guitar, so why did this one grab my attention in a way that felt like it was from another dimension? I still don’t know why, but after about 100 listens maybe I’m getting closer to the answer. The melody lines are so unexpected to me, and the atmospheric guitar swells that wash in and out with the synth pads are like ocean waves. The lyrics paint an image in my mind of cubism and gradients. If it were 1998, this would be one of those songs that made it on all of my mixtapes I gave to friends as the “mysterious downtempo acoustic based anomaly” track. Brilliant.
Between this song and “Stratospheric Tendencies” I could repeat these songs for days. “Isla” as well. Something about how they float in atmosphere, yet still retain their shapes. Sometimes my friend Mary Jane would go with me and we would float together while this music was our magic carpet. The colors in the video were also the colors I would see while listening with my eyes closed. Love this band, thank you for sharing your gifts of atmosphere ✌️♥️
This track stopped me in my tracks when I first heard it; frozen, I went into a blissful trance. If I were a producer I would mix songs in this fashion. Gorgeous. 💫
Love Film School. Do you guys still tour?? I remember seeing a couple of your shows at Bottom of The Hill. You all Crushed it both times! Definitely deserve to be more popular.
I need to rebuild a collection of music. I've been out of the loop for a while. I've enjoyed Film School's self-titled for a long time, but I kind of dropped out of discovering new music not too long after that. Don't ask. As an aside, to whom it may concern, and not having to do with Film School's post: I never claimed to be sophisticated. But I'm good at discerning when people try to pass off bullshit as sophistication. I used to be diplomatic. Now I often cut to the chase. That often happens in survival mode.
This has become on of my all time favorite songs by anybody ever. This is next level and genre transcending. A pinch of psychedelics and this song actually IS super perfection.
If they were better looking they’d be some of the most famous artists on earth but bands that focus too much on their look end up sucking anyways fucking love this band timeless and cool as fuck remain kings of the underground forever
