My name is Kyle - I play guitar in the Phoenix, AZ area. Warning - This content is very DIY and basic.
Most of what I do on this channel is play songs that I enjoy. I occasionally demo certain guitar gear, but the main purpose of my channel is to demonstrate things I like to play and hopefully meet other musicians to network with.

Sounds great!!! Did you swap the pickups out yourself??? Or have a luthier do it??? What parts did you need to make the swap??? I just ordered some TV Jones Classics for my Gretsch 5422. Can’t wait to see the difference!!!
@theworshipbunker Thanks, man! No, I had a luthier do the swap. The TV Jones website will tell you everything you need to do this. Also, FYI, the stock wire harness has quick connect clips. He snipped those and soldered directly to the pots.
@@KyleLaulo Right on. Good to know. Thank you!!! I have reached out to the TV Jones website and have gotten some good feedback already. I think I know what I need.
This has been my experience as well. I ended up swapping in some vintage-spec Filter'trons and I'm loving it. However, the RB pickups are not a standard size, so changing pickups also means custom pickup mounting rings.
You will end up regretting selling it! I own the Kingbolt, it's the best guitar i've ever owned (next to Ibanez, Sirte, Fender and Gibsons) and will never part from it. greets from the Netherlands
Thanks! It has a nice range of gain that is better than the Wampler Pinnacle. It can get into lower Marshall gain territory but I don't think that is it's greatest strength. It can do it but there are better pedals out there for that.
@@KyleLaulo Thanks! I’m mainly looking for something that can cover a lot of ground, from lower gain Marshall Hendrix style stuff, to EVH to slightly higher gain. So far this one has seemed to stand out in the videos I’ve seen so far. I’m not expecting it to totally nail every tone, but just get passable tones.
Thank you for this. I am going to buy Jetstream and I am currently deciding which pickups will fit my needs (RB or HA5). I was worried that RBs would not fit since I am looking for a more "rock" sound but this video proved that they can sound great with distortion. I have Buckshot with HA5 at the neck position and I think that it does not sound good with distortion so that`s what I am worried about.
Glad you found it helpful! These RB pickups are actually more modern sounding than vintage and the bridge pickup is pretty high output. In fact I'm selling this guitar because I prefer more PAF type output. Not that the RB's are crazy high output, just more than I prefer.
Yes the TVJ Classics are great and can cover a lot of ground. I'm amazed at the quality and value of the 5420 and I agree it's near the same quality as the 6000 series but owners of those guitars are offended when I say that!!! LoL
Thanks, glad you find them helpful. I think these pickups are very good. I've been playing them a lot with a Chase Tone Red Velvet Fuzz lately and it sounds so chewy!!
Nice Demo Man ! For many years my main Dirt pedal was a Mesa Boogie V twin Pedal, Now I have the Wampler Gear Box and an Ethos TWE-1 which is very similar to teh Gearbox. I still prefer the Gearbox for the thicker soundis .
i just finished building one today, and it wasn't quite sounding right going INTO the tentacle from the fuzz, so i swapped them to this arrangement and it sounds great! awesome demo, thanks
Hold on. How did you record? Do you have a plugin for phone? This sounds great! My 5420 with tv jones classics sounds way darker than yours and I’ve tried everything to make it shimmer like yours!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Yes, this is just recorded live in the room with my Samsung phone. To my ears, the TV Jones pickups in this guitar are not dark. They are very chimey with the classic Filtertron tone.
Very Cool, Thankyou. Stunning Guitar and Playing. I just purchased a G5420T, and WOW, what a Fun, Inspirational and Awesome Guitar. All The Best. Cheers
