So you’re saying if I feel scared to throw my head back and stretch the front of my neck while I sing, then I probably have some tension? How do I practice in a manner to break this habit?

I don’t think Corelli ever studied Otello seriously. His voice was never wrecked, as the couple of recitals he gave after his retirement show. He suffered from a combination of natural decline after an intense career of big operas plus nervous exhaustion.

Your vast knowledge aside, these videos are a total delight to watch, particularly your wry observations and ever-present humor. I had a very impressive instrument that was nearly wrecked in four years by a teacher at the University of Washington who taught every possible disastrous approach you repeatedly detail, including the inverted megaphone, and pushing the voice into the front nasal cavities for "ring." My decline was so swift that the opera contract that I secured (without his encouragement) was cancelled after just three seasons. It took me another 20 years to recover most of the voice that I lost because of his ignorance and incompetency..

I just discovered this teacher and he is fucking brilliant! I learned more from watching this video than I have learned in years of following other RU-vid teachers plus in-person lessons. Many of my other techers are talented, but this dude is supreme. Thank you!

@ARTEMIYNIK

So it’s opposite of Caruso breathe technique? Because when I tried your method with abdominal in, my chest lift everytime but I feel that I have more air than ever, but the question is do I need so much air?specially for singing modern music , pop, rock. I found the method when I breathe in, expanded and don’t collapse the most useful. What do you think about?
@ARTEMIYNIK
@ARTEMIYNIK 2 месяца назад
You singing everytime through your nose?
@Tenoretrimble
@Tenoretrimble 2 месяца назад
The extreme opposite! All singing is done with the nose in the closed state....Bob, babe, boob, Bo (Peep), 'beetle. I learned this from Jussi Bjoerling and Zinka Milanov. NEVER sing in the "Mmmmm". resonance. The nose opens and the sound, although it can sound pretty good, blends with the orchestra and does not project over a big orchestra. I sang a lot of Wagner. The "mmmmm" resonance was totally lost in the heavy orchestrations. The closed nose (bahb, bohb, etc.) made. the voice sound very powerful in the back of the theater. Try it and see if you like it. It works like a miracle. MT

I experimented with diferent kid of leans, and I discovered that even when you use a horizontal lean, you can control how horizontal it is. If you put it horizontal but with a little bit of upward direction or a little bit of downward direction. What´s your opinion on this?

sir, you lead me to the unprecedented area of sining. i am very thankful to watch these videos for free. Can I ask you one thing, I vaguely understand your lesson but can't adopt it for me. Especially I can't let my vocal cords be unused because I have been singing with full strain of my vocal cords. I will practice and improve for sure. Many thanks.

Nasality is a result of incorrect breathing, correct? More development equals clarity?

If it is nasal and continues nasal even when you close you nose with your fingers, it is because of a shallow breath.

But I observe that Caruso had a born see Singer So I learned first voice lessons and discover your own technic or skills on making sounds And knowing your voice then You become authentic having true voice that you didn't have to emulate others artist.if they can sing better be we can make much better

Oh, so it’s the LOWER abdomen, below the belly button, that’s pulled in. I always equated abdomen with UPPER abdomen, above the belly button. Never made sense to breathe by pulling the upper abdomen in.

Perhaps fat singers will enter into a miserable life when getting older, they have the best sound, the low resonances are better transmitted.
