Ooooo that's definitely a solid option. I think there is an argument for swapping in these instead of sanji or viola. I feel like you can build this deck with either life manipulation or card draw manipulation but you sort of have to decide which one it's gonna be.
@@thegoldstandardtcg There's also a world were sanji's pilaf is just a good card and worth playing.. also 3+7 means sanji's + gravity.. but im probably overcooking there
@GlitchLoMein hahaha overcooking! I totally agree is a great card in this deck in a perfect world but I feel like there isn't time to even play it! Like once you pace your 4 or 5 don turn it's basically all gas. I've been trying the doffy blocker and even that feels like the only time to play it is on your 3 don turn.

Currently I dropped viola for 2 perona just cuz I don’t like viola for my tempo. Replaced catori with 5 cost Yamato to manipulate my life. Replaced 10 ace with 9 Sanji. Replaced the ace with Sanji just because I like setting it up with blue ace or perona so that when I play Sanji I autoplay the rush ace getting out 2 bodies. That’s my tech lol.
Ooooo that is spicy as hell! I've been messing with perona and blocker doffy because I feel like you either try to gain life back or go all in on the deck stacking and rush...which I'm liking a lot! I like the sanji or something else instead of the ace. He's just not that useful most of the time but sanji into a blocker could be huge.
@@thegoldstandardtcg I'm currently not running garp and opted for perona 2 perona 2 blocker doffy to set up instead. I also pulled the sanjis because of the removal meta but I might test it back in now that law is gone and lucci will have to invest something to remove it!
@CatDaddy2four that's exactly why I'm playing the Sanjis! At the worst they cost Lucci some resources and at best you get to gain a life. I've been looking at swapping the garps out too honestly because I feel like whatever you get in your opening hand you pretty much have to lean in to. The chance of hitting a kid on garp is low and that's all I have them for. I'm glad to hear someone else isn't playing him because I felt crazy thinking this!

@activeleek7012 agreed the new leader is pretty much useless! Even just leader black maria would've done a lot. I don't feel he gained much else in OP08. Oh well we'll have to see which decks benefit the most from this!
I'll definitely try to! I don't run into Reiju that often on sim but the next couple games I'll definitely try to get. With the new bans list out now I also want to make a video talking about that! Just to help you out some typically I play it similar to RP Law. I try to wait on attacking the first turn or two to keep Gedatsu online. And then after that start swinging at life. Rush Enel really helps and honestly using Katakuri to put the 7 drop vinsmoke in life can save some headache because they can't recycle it as easily. Depends on the board state though. Yamato for removal is huge and you want to make sure that Luffy and Onami aren't in your opening hand so you can potentially hit them as triggers from life. Those are just some quick tips but like I said if I run into one soon I'll work on a more complete guide! Hope this helps!
At 7:20 a decent option would have been to katakuri the gecko into his life. Establishes you a big body and removes their biggest one. Since its face up in life they can't draw it back by playing down their 2ks.
Oooo I like that and honestly that's why I talked about their ability in the video because honestly I forget about it all the time. I'm used to playing luccis where I put gecko in life and have to be really careful in the end game to make sure they don't get it.
Guys I just want to clarify that you have to trigger the Basil ability before attempting to use Katakuri on him. Also don't fall the trap of trying to Yamato out Basil as this will result in them resting your Yamato as well! Hope this helps guys!

Oh absolutely! Also I almost totally sold it by forgetting about the Rosy protecting the cav. That turn I should've cleared both easily and then the rest would've gone a lot smoother. It was way closer than it should've been!

@chadmcquade3075 I've had more fun playing Enel than I thought I would but I completely agree. Winning from a trigger is lame and also the game play is super linear. Like you don't really ever have to make hard decisions.

How does Lucci stall the game, hard disagree. Low counter and not much defense. I still do well w the deck but don't think he has huge tools to delay games like other decks do. Removing early feels rough if you can't fill trash
@devanshparekh2746 That's exactly my point in the full video that this clip is pulled from. Early on you're basically doing what ever you can to buy time until you see a gecko. Sometimes you're countering, sometimes you're recycling blockers, and most of the time you're just trying to figure out efficient paths of removal. But once you get a gecko down or even a second one the tempo swings into your favor so dramatically that that's really you're win condition.
@luiscruz6883 I would agree with that. 4th or 5th depending on the build and the pilot. The biggest problem it has right now is it's very predictable. There's a pretty cool Rush build though that hard counters Lucci if you have a lot of lucci players in your locals I definitely recommend it!
@Anaklusmoos Hi I'm very good! How are you? You're absolutely right! In this video that first gameplay I was playing with an older version of this Bonney deck. I used it more to show the ideas of how to beat Law beacuse with Bonney it doesn't exactly matter as long as you're running some of the cards I mentioned. As far as sugar that was an experiment for a different video but I ended up cutting her and all of the Baby5s. The decklist that I showed in the beginning is a much better build!
Give me a little bit to roll out a few more vids with Enel since I'm cooking on that right now but yeah I'll definitely try to get some luffy content up! You guys definitely deserve some love too!
Thanks you sooo much for making this video with your tips! My friend started playing boa and its been frustrating trying to win. At one point my strategy was to completely ignore board and just go for leader but wasn't really working 😕. I like your rosinante because it forces the opponent to either red roc or gravity blade the two characters you put out and helps to create a wide board. Ill also start countering the first attack i think to try and keep my hand lower. Because i HATE pudding ugh 😂😡 Worst card ever 😑 haha. Thanks again!!

I actually recently swapped those out for searchable ones. I still like Izou because occasionally against law and boa I use it so I'm torn on keeping it or not but baby was just a test to see if I liked it and I don't! The decklist in the video was what I happened to be using when I ran into those boas so I didn't want to confuse anyone by putting up an obviously different decklist.

What if they run Ice age/kuzans, I seem to struggle against those. If you don't attack they'll just 10c kuzan you and everything is in range for KO with luffy?
Not gonna lie if they roll out a Kuzan things become tough quickly! So obviously Basil helps because you can rest the Kuzan if they try to remove it and it also incentives them to attack with kuzan before trying to remove it. Another kind of weird tech that I've been using is the 8 drop Rosi into the 5 drop luffy and everything is protected. I talk about it in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xTWgG5wl7wk.html Not fool proof but definitely helps in this case. But here's my main strategy in this case. If I notice that they aren't taking their life I'll assume they are going to play kuzan on their 10 drop turn and I'll try to build a healthy board in the meantime. Then I'll slowly start to take life down to 2 or 1 depending how they're board looks and trying to get counters and stuff out of their hand any way I can. If you can get them kind of close on life they then have to decide whether playing the kuzan and being only 5k leader for a turn is worth it. Because if they do that and rely on Sabo blockers you can Hody your way through and if you already have a Basil or something else down it puts them in a really dangerous position. There are a few ways around it but it's so situational and depends on your board state. The next time I run into this specific situation on Sim I'll definitely post it.

@seansmith2650 I completely agree bro! This deck was from over a month ago when I was play testing different cards on my channel early in the OP07 release. Also it's meant to show people different options for their decks. The final deck I ended up with has brooks and cut lots of that top end. I'm actually working on a video about it right now!
When you played the two kid and killers and two kid blockers into the Yamato, you actually kind of played into his gameplan. A normal Yamato deck would have killed you with a Hody Jones, and I very rarely see Yamato not get that card so I’m gonna assume this guy wasn’t running it. Cool games.

Absolutely! Or 2 sanjis and the 2 law blockers. Then you keep the blocker ratio the same. Up to you depending on how either your ramp or defense is feeling.

Played for the first time at my local with rob went 1/2 but dominated game one lost game two to yellow healing n 3 game was a loss from a boa dead life points bottoming my gecko

i am sorry but that list is not it to say the least. Hody is a must-have 4of in any bonney deck, no matter if its supernova, donquixote, or any build for that matter. Also i dont like having kid and rosinante but rather have either so i have a linear gameplan. Plus I also think baby 5 searcher 4of is a must in the donquixote build. Not only for the searching but just the swings they soak are so valuable. Also hawkins and urouge are must-have 4ofs. With this decklist i am pretty certain you will lose at least 8 out of 10 games against a decent r/p law and lucci as hawkins and hody are valuable in these matchups Also kid sucks into enel because they will always keep their katakuris for it and then swing into board after
Thanks for reaching out but I think your comment is a little misplaced. This list is from a little mini series I'm doing on building a Bonney deck. I don't completely agree with your take on the necessary cards but that's neither here nor there since really that's not what this particular video is about. However what is relevant is that while I was play testing this deck I started to notice key strategy points for different leaders. This video as the title explains is how to beat Enel. It has nothing to do with the deck list. And as your only real complaint in this regard is about the 8 drop kid being returned to life by Katakuri I can only assume you agree with the other strategy points in this video. Which I can only further imply as this video being a success since it sounds like you agree with most of it? Am I getting this wrong? As far as your deck suggestions thank you for the tips I appreciate them and will definitely consider them in the final build! @@thegoldstandardtcg hey, sorry if my comment came off as passive agressive, at the end of the day im just another guy enjoying this tcg and having his own opinions... for the rest of the strategy I have found in the enel matchup that all that counts is having a card advantage in hand. so I like starving enel players regardless of their playstyle and just playing hawkins (that cannot be removed) and essentially skipping turns if necessary. for my high drops, the first one i play out in an enel matchup is a 10c doffy most of the time regardless of what their boardstate is (of course before playing anything in this matchup you will have to make sure it can not be k.od by yamato/gedatsu). after developing that body (that they also cannot remove without raigo for a -3 life) you can start swinging into their board using hody and gain an even bigger card advantage. once they start trading back you can start chaining doffys (which is also the reason why it is hard for them to trade back into board). this is another reason why i think the baby 5 searcher is so valuable btw
Bro first of thanks for the apology I am super impressed anyone on the internet actually bothered to say. Second I was definitely a little sarcastic in mine back so I apologize for that. As far as your strategy against Enel I love some of the points you made in there! I still have trouble justifying the baby 5 searcher because really all it's looking for are those 10c doffys and feel like I draw into them pretty consistently. I do love the idea of using Hody to rest board after establishing a 10 drop especially if they are starving me. I also 100% agree that I want to run more Hodys and Basils they are essential to Bonney. In all honesty though Enel isn't the problem for Bonney I feel like it's a pretty decent matchup. The one that is brutal is any blue that runs grav blade and red roc mainly boa and obviously Lucci. Got any hot tips for either of those matchups? I like the way you think!
@@thegoldstandardtcgthese matchups are the ones I am struggling with the most right now as well. as for blue i pretty much have no experience playing against them since blue is very lightly represented in my local meta and none of my friends play blue, so sadly no tech for that. For Lucci i have yet to figure out the matchup in its entirety but hawkins is insane since it can stick (unless they play the finger pistol event) and remove 1 body per turn / pressure life. what you have to realize in this matchup is that their ressources are limited and their hand often hurts them countering out with. So really you win this matchup by stacking hawkins, playing highdrop after highdrop, swinging at their life aggressively whenever the boardstate allows for it and generating the biggest possible handsize advantage. In the end of a lot of my games against lucci it comes down to a flip with hody though, which i dislike a lot. We'll see maybe there is tech i dont know of that makes this matchup easier

I played a lot of Marco in the last 2 monthly. I think if u play the blue 5 cost ace u need namule in this deck. U need it for ur odd curve to play namule at 3 don and set up ur ace at 5 don. Otherwise u only can play the 5 cost ace combo at 7 don. And I think then this combo is too slow for the meta. All in All a really nice deck. The removal is really strong and its a lot of fun to play :D

In the last match, if you decided to go 10, 13, you could've used the Doffy first and see if he counters, that way you have blocker and don available. Great video btw! ❤️🤙🏽

I personally don't use it because I find it a little clunky. I almost never use the baby 5 searchers I have in this build and recently I tried to swap in the 5c Bonney that freezes stuff. I've seen some high level players post their decklists with baby 5 but I can't get it to work with my play style!
Honestly it's a great card and I had it in an earlier version of the deck. For me I felt that it's usefulness falls off quickly through. Because you either play it on your 5 don turn or your 8 don turn with Rosi. After that you're at the 10 don turn and start dropping Doffys. In this current build it feels like it doesn't fit either the pace of the deck or my play style. Again though it's a great card and I'll probably experiment with playing like 2 of them in the future!
@Niqeth honestly I almost never use the baby 5 searchers and since they're both 1k counters I think you could swap two in there pretty easily. Also I totally forgot that she keeps a don rested too and now I'm rethinking her usefulness! Thanks for asking this. Now I'll definitely try her out in an updated version of this build!
