Thank you. I have mild dementia, but my last Neuro is my former Neuro. Have a new one but have to keep rescheduling it. I was assured by the Dr that did my cognitive studies said I absolutely do not have Alzheimer's. I do want to knock w what kind I have
I know 😊 be got to at least do a medical power of attorney before I get worse. Sadly an attorney here in Tx is 3k. 2:?,months of my SSDI. I know they have online POA and medical POA.
Hi @sactopyshep! We are not paid to promote any senior living communities. We only recommend options that fit our client's needs and are within their budget. Luxury senior living is not for everyone, and as I mention in this video, there are tradeoffs that need to be considered before deciding if its right for you.
Is there is any treatment for this as my husband appears not able to swallow well and is shuffling when walking. Can the condition be passed to his biological children .Concerned wife and parent
Hi @theresamokgoro896 I'm sorry to hear about your husband. There are some things he can do to slow the progression of dementia: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FiPkwY7EnHE.html There are also some pharmaceuticals that can temporarily improve dementia symptoms: www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/dementia/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20352019 The majority of dementia is not inherited by children and grandchildren. In rarer types of dementia there may be a strong genetic link, but these are only a tiny proportion of overall cases of dementia. I hope this helps!

I lived in Phoenix and Paradise Valley from 1957 to 1989. Hot as hell and expensive. Most of my life I worked in other states and countries making 2 to 8 times more. My great great uncle Ernest McFarland was two term Governor, 1 term US Senator losing to Barry Goldwater in 1952. After that he was Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court. I retired in 2013 and immediately moved to David-Chirquri Panama. Then Manta Ecuador, then Managua as well as Leon Nicaragua and finally an undisclosed town in Costa Rica where I rent a 7 bedroom/5 bath house with 4 car garage on 23 acres for $153 a month. In those other countries I never paid more than $180 for a 3/2 house. As to electric my house is all electric and the bill between $12 and $15 a month. Water/Sewer/Trash is $6 a month. Unlimited Internet $12 and cellphone $4. Reason I don't disclose my location is I like things as they are. Where most Americans live a house like mine would rent for around $3500 minus all but about 1/4 to 1/3rd acre. Where I am located it has never been colder than 54 or hotter than 87F. Last time it snowed in Costa Rica was on an over 12,500 ft mountain in 1917. Loads of streets with 20 to 35% gradients My driveway is 21 and 22% and about 150 meters uphill.), even one at 41%. So get a lot of exercise walking. I am 76 years old, take no medications and any injuries and health problems have been absent since 1989. In Arizona watch out for Valley Fever. My half brother got it, and knew more than a half people who died of it. Those that recovered spent about 2 years in bed. With a monthly budget of around $1000 I have enough left over to travel Internationally 6 months a year. As well as support a wife. Unlike the US a foreign wife can never get Retirement benefits of mine. In the US a man could lose it all in a single weekend. From Phoenix you can fly to Costa Rica to San Jose for about $400. Hotels are typically about $40 but hostels $8 to $15 with free breakfast. I recommend the town of La Fortuna. A bus there is about $5. Don't drive though. Use public transit or taxis. I haven't driven since leaving the US. Mountain biked and walked a lot. Then bought a 1200 watt electric scooter as well as a 100 cc 2 stroke powered 11 speed mountain bike moped. No license or registration required and as I do not have Residency both impossible to obtain. Crime is nearly non existent, though someone stole a breaker from the power meter box. New replacement was less than $6. Thief likely sold it for about 75 cents.
We are a team of digital health enthusiasts pursuing an Executive MBA from Stanford, and trying to understand productivity bottlenecks in Long Term Care EHRs. Could you please help me refine my understanding? Also interested in doing a one-on-one chat as a part of my thesis at Stanford. Thanks and regards Abhay
Hi Abhay! Thank you for the question. I wouldn't be the best person to ask about EHRs since I don't deal with them directly. I work with families to find the best long term care for their loved one's situation. I'm happy to answer any other questions you may have about Senior Living!
So my sister is stage 3 what do we do as family? What treatments are out there to slow down the progression pad cast was good but only surface info thanks
Hi @mae8862. I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I would first recommend that she be seen by a doctor who specializes in neurodegenerative disorders (if she hasn't already). There may be some treatments available that will help her symptoms. I recently made a video about steps you can take that may slow the progression of dementia that you might find helpful: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FiPkwY7EnHE.html If you are considering a senior living community for her that specializes in memory care, you can call me at 480-331-8855 and I'd be happy to help!
Hi @fraseredk7433 there currently aren't any cures for dementia related diseases. There are some newer mediations that have been shown to temporarily improve dementia symptoms. The best thing we can do is work to slow or prevent the onset of these diseases. Check out my video on some ways to slow the progression of dementia: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FiPkwY7EnHE.html
