As with everything, it's all about nuance, for instance, i have a few certificates for JAMF (a mac MDM), so that obviously gives me an edge when the job listing is for a mac system engineer, then again, if had a candidate without those certs but I can tell they understand things quickly, i'd also say it's fine to hire.
They’re totally worth it for the seller! They charge you money to read and regurgitate their instruction book back to them. Easy money. Basically it’s a scam.
If youre looking for a help desk position, no you dont need any certifications, but you will be tested during your interview. Ive been in IT for 25 years, worked at large financial companies in support roles, trading desk support roles and as an automation engineer. It will help you, the further you get along in your career.
This was such a great video. I've been following along and actually making progress. Right up to the 9 minute mark. Where you hid your commands with the thumbnail of your head. Now I'm lost...
Here in the Netherlands a certificate is nice to have but they nearly always prefer work experience. One reason is that certificates are only required if the kind of work they do can legally onlt be done by certified people, or if the company is one of those "companies" that only hire certified people because they are really hardcode. Avoid those companies. Basically; a certificate is an objective indication that you have certain knowledge. Work experience is proof that you can do the job.
How is one switching careers going to obtain the experience? I'm trying to switch from Elec. equipment service technician to IT (first, before Cybersecurity) and I am getting IT certs to also get more knowledge but to help myself to get to IT and grow experience from there.
It's funny you are really personable. I took your AD training and I thought you seemed very relatable. Easy to talk to. You might not be as outgoing as John Strand but that's not a bad thing. I enjoy both styles.
We advertise job openings when we have them in our Discord server. So this would be the best place to see our future roles: discord.com/invite/tcm (By the way, good luck on the PNPT!)
Bro you should have shared that subnetting spreadsheet its amazing, i have learned a lot of tricks for subnetting but that one of you its top notch oh i managed to get it from the resources link.
This is one of the most useful videos I've ever watched. Even though I don't plan on doing this but now I know how to look beyond what I already know. Definitely your newest fan.
When I first heard that this was being done I was shocked! - I worked with web/sql in the late 90's and knew right away that all inputs had to be sanitized to prevent this kind of attack - lazy coders have created more work for the security folks than any thing else
Hi! just wanna ask if there's any latest suggestion of any vuln ISO image (Old version of Windows, of Linux Servers) that is available to download and test locally? As an absolute beginner in this field, I just to test on my local VM as Lab before testing it outside of my local scope. Hope you can share some insights! Thanks.
