not a paramotorist but I skydive a lot. Had some bad thermals ( dust devil) last year in Seville on a jump. Canopy nearly collapsed on me at 1700ft. Luckily when my right cells began to collapse I dropped out of the heat plume. Scary shit but manageable. I'd say it's much less of a risk with the paramotor ?
Nice views there Svend.... I live in Strichen area and didn't realise we had {a few} Paramotorists in the area. I am only at the beginning journey and doing my ground handling (with a second hand wing so that I dont trash a new one!!!), so early days for me, using the local fields and my eBay wind sock !!! Been speaking to Gordon often who has given me pointers.
