This is one of the most complicated drumming songs I think I've ever seen. And those fills are rocket fast. Insane limb independence, it just has it all. If you didn't write this and someone handed the sheet music to you I think I'd just roll my eyes - but Kevin can play it.

C’en est agaçant tant on dirait que tu t’ennuies… ce n’est évidemment pas le cas, c’est le résultat d’un travail énorme… je refuserai toujours de parler de « talent », ce serait bien trop réducteur. C’en reste néanmoins impressionnant.
Les seuls moments, ou tu fais un tout petit peu la grimace, c'est face au break d'une vitesse lumière de Romain Goulon, ce qui en dit très long sur l'immensité et l'intensité de son drumming sur Necrobreed. En tout cas...précision, endurance, détente, créativité, son de la batterie, c'est bien simple, depuis que RU-vid existe je regarde des batteurs de metal extrême et je pense que je n'avais vu d'aussi bonnes performances, c'est juste fou...c'est fou...c'est immense, un tel travail, une telle abnegation, ça fait plus que forcer le respect, j'ai pas les mots, y'a pas assez de superlatifs dans le dico, merci infiniment pour tout Kevin, merci de m'apporter tant de joie!
@@kevinparadisdrummer yeah i think I saw it in scars indeed. Seems like you can get quite some power out of those doubles, really cool. Never tried it like that. Is it easy to do next to the push-pulling?
@@dozensofdonny747 I do work a lot on single stroke to double stroke transition (and I also add paradiddle), because the fact that you change your motion a bit can trigger some tension. But on the other end, after the transition, the fact that the motion is different does save a lot of energy, and on this part of the song, I think I would struggle more to play all single stroke in the end !
@@kevinparadisdrummer that makes a lot of sense yeah. Things like rlrlrrll and longer i think, right? I like those to but maybe should step the game in terms of speed. Might also be a good exercise to do the push-pull on the doubles to train this switch a bit. Heh can't wait to get behind the kit again now 😁
Superb!!! 🙂 Was waiting for this the whole week! Gigantic playing right from the start! Live like on tape ... thats hard to reach! How warm do you need to be to start off like this? What is your routine before a show? I think I still did not find the right routine, always need at least a whole midtempo song to become warm enough for faster stuff....
I do some massage with arnica oil, and I warm up especially the hand. I can do a 2 feet blast beat on the first song to warm up step by step, but hand are straight to pretty long 270bpm blast beat !
@@kevinparadisdrummer Thanks a lot for the answer!!! Incredible that you can go directly to 270 with the hands for this long! I also noticed that you switch in the one-foot blasts from right to left. Is this for saving energy, or to get the foot warm?
kevin's stamina is incredible! maybe you can try and learn the "dirk blast" for even faster blast beats in the furture! if it aint in the video 50 Shades Of Blast Beat i know you have been experimented with heel-toe technique before, even if you don't actually include them in your playing style
So the alternate hand blast beat is a technique I was using for the 300bpm blast in Benighted, but I know use traditional blast up to 310/320. And faster, I prefer the gravity blast. I know how to alternate hand blast, but ATM I don't have a lot of range of application for this technique, except the very long 300/320bpm blast beat. My aim for now is more to 100% recover my feet technique (the process is in very good way ATM), to increase my timing and groove, creativity, but also, to finally properly learn heel toe technique !
