I love all things tech. I've been programming since the age of 12, repairing iPhones since 16, and founding tech companies since 20. I'm an open source fanatic, Apple fanboy, and love to explore new tech. I spend my time coding open source projects, tinkering with electronics and new tech products, and consulting teams on how to get things done.
On this channel, I create videos about code, product reviews, new tech, gaming, and the occasional moment from my life.
I would use 12/2, it's currently only $40 more than 14/2 for a 250ft roll at Home Depot. Next to nothing in the grand scheme of the overall construction costs. You have a decent amount of receptacles there, which is good, but you never know what someone will be plugging in there. It's not a code rule, but it's good practice to separate lighting circuits (14/2) from receptacles (12/2) in new construction.
I considered both. It’s not shown in this particular video but I did put 12/2 in the office and living room downstairs and used 14/2 on this room which is just a guest room and wouldn’t really need more than that. As for the circuits, I considered separating lights and receptacles but the rest of my house (which is only a couple years old) had each room on its own circuit so I decided to match that for the basement. This helped me learn all sorts of things that I’m sure I’ll take to my next build whenever that happens
@@JustinHammond Fair enough, when it comes to the trim out, I recommend using spec grade 15 amp receptacles and pigtails. If you use residential grade, don't backstab, use the screws.
Scooter, it can't go on highway that scooter bankrupt two Honda dealers in my town plus other stupid things honda makes. But I do think they help people get to real bikes sold 4 bikes to grom owners
I am having to make a massive career shift due to my health and my work will pay for me to get a new degree (in exchange for working my soul away in a call center but it’s worth it to come away debt free). I am considering data analysis and software engineering. This is so raw and actually has helped me learn what I want to do (software engineering). Thank you.
Actually a great feature. I wish this was documented better. Am I right, that the retries are ignored during the startup and it basically retries the health check, until it succeeds? What happens if the service crashes during startup? Will it be marked as unhealthy?
So the start interval lets you set a separate interval to do health checks during startup. For instance, during startup I might want to run the health check every couple seconds until I know it’s healthy vs once it’s in a stable state, I might only want to check each minute. As to your question about crashing on startup, it’ll be marked as unhealthy once the number of retries have been exceeded
@@JustinHammond ah, okay. So the `retries` parameter is reused? That means setting the retries to a low number and starting to check early and often will most probably lead to an unhealthy container. Doesn't this make docker kill and restart the container? This would be a big error source, if the startup significantly differs on different machines.
@ElCerdoBlanco totally depends. For me, many of my containers start super fast. I use Traefik to route traffic to them but they aren’t discoverable until marked as healthy meaning in my earlier example that a one minute health check means that on deployment there would be one minute of downtime. With this new feature I can set it to check every second during the first 10 seconds so it’s almost seamless. It all depends on how you configure it
Problem is they say msrp is $1,800/$1,999 now after all the fees and dealer bullshit. More like $2,400. Sub $2,000 would be amazing but after fees it’s not worth it anymore. I got a used 2022 for $1700. Totally worth that amount
Just jump in! Checkout tutorials and guides online and start building something. Start small and find things you actually care about so it stays interesting and not monotonous. Save it all to a portfolio (GitHub) and by the time you’re done with school you should have enough projects to showcase to land a job!
@@JustinHammondI’m about to change my oil in the same bike, but I can’t find the parts anywhere. What are the part numbers? Or where did you order them from?
This is creepy. I have the exact same rack in my basement and the same model Synology NAS. I just replaced my patch panel with the same Cable Matters keystone patch panel a couple of weeks ago. And we're both in Utah. Google must have been watching me and that's why it recommended this video.
I entered the Honda dealer with cash in hand. After tax, tag, title, destination, freight etc. etc. the price was over $2600. That’s more than 30% added to the $1807. I said no thanks.
Unfortunately that's how it is with every bike /car nowadays I paid for my bike 6500 2 years ago MSRP was 4.999 you lucky they asking only 2600 because 2 years ago when I asked for OTD on Navi they said 3200. You have a choice either you buy it and forget about the price you paid and have a ton of fun or you forget about the bike and move on.
I am currently looking into getting into this field, Data Analytics, or Networking. And 4 years ago I did some Dual Enrollment for "IT System Specialist" with the school near me. And I wanna go back, hoping I can get some sort of apprentiship so I can leave my current job and learn on the job while also attending college. It looks like a lot of work, and annoying work, but also seems a small bit laid back too at times which is nice.
Because I live in a small city surrounded by more rural stuff between other towns, there is always a way to get anywhere and stay on sub 50 mph roads. That's why I chose the Navi. So economical, cheap to maintain, cheap to insure ($110.....PER YEAR!!), fun to drive, absolutely the perception of 'speed' without real 'speed', so I stay out of trouble. I love how they set this thing up to really be damn punchy from 0-30, so you never feel overwhelmed starting out around traffic. The onboard storage is fantastic. You see this bike, and at first you scoff at it.....then you realize that there is like one negative review out of 100 on RU-vid, or online, and even the negative review isn't really 'bad'. There is a reason for that. The shocking thing for me too is the number of compliments and questions I get. I live in a county full of compensators. Nothing but big loud cruisers or overtuned sport bikes. You simply don't see Navis driving around at all. So much so that, while other Honda dealerships have a waiting list, ours still has 2023s with 2025s about to come out, and I'm the only local person to buy one in well over a year, possibly longer. They couldn't remember, LOL!. Mine, reflected in a window is literally the only one I've seen moving down one of the streets here. So people are just totally curious. Then after they spend a minute talking to me about it, they want one, LOL!
YES it is. Depending on where you live. Within two miles is all I need, pizza, Walmart, Food lion, beer, Autozone, Wawa, Rofo, Builders supply etc. and Amazon for what I need shipped. Air cooled, less headaches, no need to go superfast, enjoy the ride
I studied programming in college, took a few classes on HTML,C++, visual basic, MYSQL but i never stopped to wonder “what do we actually do IRL? I know I can’t assume that it’s like in the movies” i got scared and never actually looked for job in what i got my bachelor degree on. I feel like a wasted all those years and i keep thinking “what if i get a job and realize I forgot everything and have to start from scratch and get fired because of that.”
I talked to local Honda Navi dealer. Although the price tags says $1840. The out of door price is over $2800 (freight fee, destination fee, tax etc). I'm hesitating...
It is real yo!..Your desktop setup is also very practical without glistening LEDs. Who has time to setup LEDs when you are churned to work from morning 4 to night 10
P. S. my navi , has 3,500 miles on it , I've never had any problems with it. only thing that happened was the spark plug boot came off the spark plug . i saw on RU-vid that happened to someone else. Doing 40mph. and shut down . 😁
I'm happy i got this bike , its been super dependable so far. i saw another navi owner with 16,000 miles on his that he put on in a year 😁 i plan on getting another one . safe rides and stay alert.😁
i assumed that where you live has something to do with the m.p.h. im near sea level. Mine is 100% stock , i bought some DR. Pulley sliders - rollers. Not installed yet . these bikes don't hold Mich oil so I change oil every 2 or 3 months. my transmission oil I change every other oil change. in cold months i use 10 w 30 and hot months 10w40 summers are super hot where i live.
You will never get a navi for $1,800.00 the dealers will screw you Royal . i bought a 2022 new. $3,200.00 o.t.d. i was at the dealer march of 2024 , a sales person told me o.t.d. $2,900.00 . but I was only asking a price. i plan on getting another one soon but this time ill try to get the cheapest price i can . by the way I've had my navi up th 50 mph. With throttle to spare . never run full throttle. . as a rule I cruise at mostly 40 to 45 mph. on the highways. only complaint - gas tank too small + these bikes are top heavy. Keep a gas can at home 5 gal + a 2 gal . don't want to hit the gas station all the time. 😁
I wanna say I got mine for $2700 OTD. The speed will depend on a lot of conditions. I live in a high altitude area which the carb didn’t love so best I got was 50mph down a hill. Usual top speed was closer to ~43 on flat ground. I also swapped the rollers which gave me an acceleration boost but probably robbed me of a couple MPH on the top end
