I remember doing solo and ensemble back in the day, and I actually met Sherri Porterfield (Spelling maybe off)in which she was teaching the group how to sing her beautiful art!! She was a really sweet lady, and it took place in Alabama I wanna say around 98-99. I've always loved this masterpiece! Great job choir🔥
God bless you. I have a cd that says thula sizwe. I didn't know that it was in Zulu. I'm going to study Zulu so that I can understand what the cd is saying. Thanks 🙏 so much for singing this song
Well when you gather 250 of the best choral junior and senior students across all of Virginia, you tend to get a really good choir. As someone who is in this video, I agree that the song seems too slow.
C'est après avoir regardé un épisode de la série Monk, que j'ai fini ici ! (It was after watching an episode of the Monk series, that I ended up here!)
I am floored. I saw the video. Remembered how the song began. Sang my part of the beginning. And started the video to find out that I hadn't just remembered my part. I MEMORIZED THE FREAKING KEY. THE VIDEO WAS IN THE KEY THAT I SANG IN JUST BEFORE PLAYING. THAT is how much we had to practice these songs over those few days. I. Am. Shaking.
This piece is Beautiful but the overall choir vowels weren’t y’all enough if they had taller vowels it would sound so much better it just sounds so childish. But very good Effort
Hi! Message from a friend: Colleagues, our school owns the set of Variations on Joy to the World by James Christensen, but I'm missing several individual parts. The arrangement is permanently out of print, but I intend to keep performing it. The parts I'm missing are: Flute 1-2, Bass clarinet, Horn 2, Trumpet 2, Trombones 1-3. In this case, since the parts are no longer available anywhere, is it ok to write parts on Finale, or can someone provide me with some copies, or does anyone have a complete set that they wish to sell? Thank you for any help!
I did this song in my high school choir my senior year. We got to compete in San Diego, CA! It was so much fun and this brought back those awesome memories 🤗
Indeed. I was in All State Choir. There were 5 songs we sang. The Girls got to sing this song. Lucky them, I wish I could have sung this, it's so good.
