Welcome to the official RU-vid Channel for ‘ukulele artists, Craig Chee and Sarah Maisel!
Individually, Craig Chee and Sarah Maisel have been performing and teaching across the nation and around the globe. Though they can and do perform solo, their collaboration is what has brought them into the forefront. With Craig’s Pop/Folk influence and Sarah’s Jazz style they have created their own niche sound at different Festivals including The 'Ukulele Festival of Great Britain and The Cairns 'Ukulele Festival (Australia). From the start of their collaboration in early 2013, they have been even more sought after with an amazing response to their combination of ukulele and vocal harmonies. Not only have they recorded an International Limited Release album in 2014, they have just released their first full length album together, Scene 1: Take 1, in July, 2015. More info at CheeMaisel.com
Great session and fantastic job yesterday at the benefit. You missed my forum question today, hopefully you can cover it next time. Thanks to the entire team for a job well done.
Thank you so much Sarah!!! I grew up with this music (my dad was a jazz enthusiast). I have been waiting for this and although I'm just an intermediate player, I easily can follow and play along. Thanks for your great instruction. I love the new chords to learn here too. <3 <3 <3
So great, another fascinating insight for all those who appreciate what Andrew does but had no idea of his journey,. Seeing the shop was an added bonus. Absolutely great recording and interview. Have a great week
I love my 'Oli. It sounds gorgeous and looks beautiful. It's super comfortable to play. All my ukes come from The Ukulele Site - they're the best. I'm a fan.
The Ukulele site is the best site from which to purchase instruments. I’m a regular customer, bought several ‘ukulele from them, and ordered a parlor guitar which will arrive tomorrow. Veronica has assisted me with most of my purchases. Kudos to Veronica for her high quality customer service skills!
On one of my first visits to Oahu with my wife Ellen, she convinced me to purchase an ukulele. We went to Kamaka and got a tour from Fred. I decided to buy an Ohta San concert. Kamaka did not have one, but they sent me to Bob's Ukulele in the Pacific Beach Hotel as they had one left. I still treasure it today.
That’s a very nice ukulele. I played it one time and it felt different. Mine is the satin though I would prefer a gloss one. The low G is very responsive
My first purchase was a Kamaka tenor in summer 2017. It happened to be a 2016 100 Anniversary Model that The Ukulele Site had had returned from a dealer on the continent. Thus I ended up with a special one more or less by accident.
Last December, I purchased a custom D-series tenor with a curly redwood top and cocobolo back and sides (which both Sarah and Craig have seen, as I took classes with each of them this past May at this year’s “Mighty Uke Day” in Lansing, Michigan). It is a beautiful instrument both visually and tonally.
A wonderful talk/play/story with KoAloha. There are so many beautiful and fabulous playing ukulele out there…and after going through several other wonderful ukulele, I landed on KoAloha as the one for me. As soon as I got my first a couple of years ago-I knew I was home. I am fortunate to have a pikake tenor, glossy tenor, Royal Pikake concert. They are such beautiful instruments and the right ones for me. Thank you, Sarah for doing this feature.
Thanks for this program! I dearly love my 2008 K1 SS SM super soprano. The natural satin finish gets more beautiful each year. BTW it sounds great with a low g!
