Trail cameras... Recording whitetail deer within the city limits.
I was born in southwest Virginia (not WV) I lived most of my life in Ga(45 yrs). The rest was between VA. And S.C.... I've been hunting and fishing since I was in diapers. I got serious about deer hunting when I was 15.My dad and Granddad only squirrel and rabbit hunted so I had to learn everything on my own. At about 30 it all started clicking and it became second nature. It got so simple I became bow only at about 40. Then tragically I had to stop hunting. 3 years ago I died for 3 minutes(cardiac arrest) and since then I can't draw a bow back so I quit hunting,along with the fact my heart is only working at 23%. I can get it fixed,but that's another story. I was depressed by not hunting(or fishing) until I was inspired to do gamecam videos by @HuntingFarmer . You can contact me at: phobbs46@yahoo.com
That’s a thing deer do along with a bunch of other animals their head budding it so they can get some more milk. You should see the doe’s kick the crap out of their fawns when the doe’s are weaning the fawns off of the milk. Trust me that doe will get its revenge on her baby
I'm surprised you don't know that mother deers plant their young in tall grass while they go off to eat? Perhaps you shouldn't mow until After birthing season is over? Birthing season is early Spring and late summer.
Yes I'm aware of that. But me and my brother walked the area before mowing. And there is actually better hiding spots inside the thicket. I hate it happened,I felt bad,but sometimes things like that just happen. And I had to cut the grass,it was a new purchase my bro made,so we had to clean it up.
Why did he make it sound like a bear or something got the mom or fawn. Hiw you put it in title you made it sound like you needed people to watch instead if saying it was an accident with lawn mower. What people will do to get people to watch their videos is awful. I wouldnt have even shiwn that. 😢
Sadly, he could have done just that and it may have still happened. You can walk through high grass and never know you walked right past a fawn! Tiny and burroughed down in the base of tall grasses, quiet on purpose, too young and wobbly legged to run yet... 😢
Wow, very sad. I'm sure you're a man of God and good will and wouldn't intentionally run a baby animal over. Unfortunately sh*t happens and there's no one to blame, but horrible unintentional fate. Be strong, feed momma and the little one with some corn, and that will make you feel better! God Bless!
I have those in my yard daily or nightly. Last years babies almost come to a call when I put corn on the sidewalk. Of course I'm not quite city it's next door. I have let my pasture go natural and it's literal forest, for deer now, me when SHTF, grin.
Deer feel safe in neighborhoods and cities. They know where people are hunting them. The big cities I've seen,Atlanta,Memphis,Nashville,Cincinnati ect...all have very very big bucks and lots of deer,on small tracts of land. They just feel safer I think.
I know you're heartbroken and it is unfortunate but you didn’t do it on purpose. You'd think something so loud barreling down on it would be enough for it to get up and run. I'm sorry that happened, they are so well camouflaged and they stay so still it's not at all surprising you didn’t see it. Don't beat yourself up. My heart breaks for both of you.
Thanks. It was doing exactly what it was supposed to do. Stay put. If it hadn't been a fawn it wouldn't be as bad. Atleast momma still has one. I guess stuff happens. Willingly harvesting a deer is totally different. Thanks for the kind words. God bless.
Coyotes are everywhere! I see and hear them in our park right next to the city all the time. I also see raccoons, foxes, deer, possums, etc. they’re everywhere next to our cities, or even in our cities.
I really hope they were playing army. But then again it's pitiful if they call that hunting. There was atleast 6 of them plus the army dog. Thanks for watching.
Thanks these are small. There is acually a lot of deer and very big bucks inside most city limits that ive seen. Trying to get permission to hang cameras at a few other spots around this area. Thanks for watching.
