The best song of Porcupine Tree, I heard this son on the radio like 6 years ago, I was mesmerised, trying to remember the lyrics to find it. Fortunately my brother shazamed it, and since then, it's one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time. I listened to all the PT albums, they're really good, sometimes a little bit derivative of their own works, but this song, is the culmination of their musical aesthetic, it condenses all their artistry.
My jam, is about 10 minutes songs, rich in textures, complex melody with a coherent theme. Alonside this song, the ones that captivated me, and I keep hearing over and over again: 1.- Deprived (Irretrievably Lost Imagination) from Riverside 2.- Creepshow from Twelfth Night 3.- Black Wine from Washington 4.- Human Sadness from The Voidz Alonside the usual suspects from Pink Floyd: Dogs, Echoes, Shine on your crazy diamond.
Tommy playing EVH's Cathedral? Ooops! Sorry, this was a few years before that was. Maybe EVH was playing Tommy Bolin's solo on that one? Check out his riffs at 3:02. You see what I mean. Or hear.
thats not him playing “evh’s cathedral”, he’s most likey using the same delay setting but you can also hear tommy pick some stuff during that which ed doesnt do on cathedral. Plus for the most part on cathedral ed’s taking a 5th string root major bar chord and arpeggiating it up the neck while using the volume knob
fantastic music, bringing you the very spot where the geese were targeted!! and unfortunately shot, the way this is orchestrated is so amazing to close your eyes and see yourself as the shootist, creeping up on the geese and finally letting the gun off both barrels and landing one as it spirals out of the sky,and lands on untouched snow, incredible imagination went into this classic peice of music, andy, you are a master not only of your musical talents, but of a dreamworld not thought of before by some composers, only compositions like this appear in music from classic composers from decades past!! I bought this album when it first came out in the 70,s still have a copy on c/d today and never grow tired of it!! one in a million, even managed to get the "t" shirt on the website last month, I ,m so proud to be a camel fanatic, and will be until, now 66 , keep it up Andy!!!
The bass line is so sexy, Colin was at his peak here. I can't express into words how happy I am that PT are back, but at the same time I'm gonna miss Colin Edwin and John Wesley a lot. ;__;
Musik: einfach, aber klasse. Oder besser gesagt : einfach klasse !! Klingt toll.. wie ein bisschen Eloy, Michael Rother und Manuel Göttsching. Weiter so..!!!!
