It took me 9 months. But getting the watch hours takes way longer than the subs, so I'm not monetized yet. I tried to get 100 subscribers per month and in the beginning I posted every second day. It's hard in the beginning but just keep posting and adjusting your title and thumbnail. You learn and grow as you post more don't worry if you don't get that many views or subscribers yet, you got this!!!

Thank you, I needed to hear this. It's crazy expensive to get the "right" gear only to be creative and make content. We don't need that when we're just starting out! I've already met so many amazing people on RU-vid and I don't own a camera, I film everything on my iphone and with editing software you can make it look better, I'ma still learning so I son't change a lot of things but I've experimented a little bit. i think it looks best without color grading when you're just talking or making a vlog. Let's be creative and connect new RU-vidrs!
Exactly! Even with your phone you can get such great shots nowadays! Plus a lot of people are watching on their phones so resolution doesn't matter as much as the storytelling anyways. Keep it up!! :)

G'day from Australia 🇦🇺. Yes, the camera isn't as important as the storyline if you're making short films. For vlogs, having good things to talk about is more important. RU-vid is a long game. Learn and improve as you go.
About audio: I make vlogs walking on the beach, waves crashing making tremendous noise, only use mic of my iPhone. But in Capcut you can isolate and enhance sound of voice. No sound of waves, voice only, like using external mic!
I use the Premiere Pro sound AI which helps but in that video it was too many different background noises (wind, plane, roof fans). So maybe that was my sign to get an external mic if I want to continue recording outside 🫣. I would also love to record from a bigger distance so that would only work with a mic.

So true. Nothing worse than getting a viral video (10k views ,for me anyway) and then to be reminded constantly in the various graphs , that you are a looser and your content ^ views are down on last month's figures 10k. RU-vid is like being in a abusive relationship , shut up & take it.😅😅😅
Change can be painful, especially when it's involuntary. But going back to how things used to be is never possible. Becoming who I was in the past isn't possible. I think this is why nostalgia hits so strongly for me. It's bittersweet because it's remembering a time that's already gone. I'm trying to make the best of today and to be grateful and embrace the future and new opportunities. The tree analogy you mention is very visceral for me because me and my brother was given one chestnut each when we were kids, to plant and care for. I procrastinated and my chestnut was never planted. My brother planted his and it's now a beautiful ~30 feet chestnut tree on our parents' property, some 20 years later. To me it's a reminder of one opportunity taken and one missed, but that it's still not too late to plant a tree even now.
Thank you for sharing!! It's about learning and growing a little everyday. Just like plant analogies we all do things at a different speed. Embracing to be present I think is so important to be able to let go of "what if's" and the endless cycle of overthinking or fear of consequences for doing the "wrong thing" which leads us to procrastinating and staying in the same place.

I'm glad to hear about your process. It has also taken me years to finally get my channel off the ground with all the fears of "what will people think". Thank you for sharing! The fear in our head is usually bigger than how it is to actually put yourself out there. It's natural that feedback of others matter to us but one big thing I learned is that people that hate or criticize you for starting a youtube or struggling for trying something are usually always people that do not put themselves out there. Lol i have not made a video in 20 days. I have 2500 subs and 200+ videos. I am still not monetized... RU-vid wont give me my watch hours. They keep taking them away
Hey Arcane glückwunsch zu 1000 subs und für das solange durchziehen (trotz geringer Aufrufzahlen). Mein Kanal ist erst 2 Monate alt und läuft dafür echt gut & trotzdem ist es teilweise demotivierend durchzuziehen wenn ein neues Video mal nicht so läuft wie erhofft... btw dein english ist echt gut dachte erst du wärst ami :) was ist eigentlich langfristig dein content plan für videos auf deinem Kanal, dass konnte man noch nicht wirklich herausidentifizieren beim vorbeischauen auf deinem Kanal ? :)

Das verstehe ich, in meinem einen Video rede ich auch darüber, warum es besser ist nicht viral zu gehen, weil es wie du sagst demotivierend ist ein video mit sehr vielen Aufrufen zu haben, wenn die Videos danach nicht annähernd so viele Aufrufe haben. Ich sehe das ganze wie in dem Video gesagt wie ein Buch, bei dem jede Seite bzw. jedes Video wichtig ist, auch wenn es kaum Aufrufe bekommt. Hätte ich all die Videos mit wenigen Aufrufen nicht auf meinem Kanal gepostet hätte ich es auch gar nicht zu meinem 10k Aufrufe Video geschafft. Aber Thumbnail, Titel und Thema des Videos machen auch sehr viel aus. Gerade als kleiner RU-vidr ist das sehr wichtig. Mein Content geht eigentlich überwiegend um Persönlichkeitsentwicklung und die struggles oder Erfahrungen als kleiner Content Creator und wo mich die Reise hinführt :)
