A startup company in Northwest Georgia, Fantom Teardrops hopes to fulfill the need for quality teardrops in the southeast and help anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors, do so with ease and comfort in a teardrop!
What's this beauty's towing weight and GVWR? Could I haul it with a Chevy Bolt variant? How long does it take your crew to build one? And is there any paint job you WON'T give it?
ive got a suggestion these tear drops are nice too look at and all but i think towability would be greatly improved if the back was the front that would be less of an air dam also i ve been in the market for a tear drop for quite a while but never built or bought because theyre just to small im above average height not by much but just a little also those small doors arent so appealing to us older folks im 43 not in bad physical shape or health but having to literally crawl in and out of such small space isnt something us older folks want to do especially in the middle of the night for a restroom trip and then have to bend and contort to get back in make a model with a six foot door and youll increase sales
Looks amazing. What's the : dry weight, how many watts is the solar panel and ballpark price range for this model? Thanks for sharing your craftsmanship.
Jeff - the upgrades are awesome. The 12v hookup for the awning lights are genius. Love the star gazing window. If anyone is in the market for a teardrop, do yourself a favor and give these guys a very serious look
So sorry, you couldn't hear it, Mike. We've had several comments on this but it seems to be good for some and not for others. Maybe try watching on another device when you get a chance.
Has plenty of leg room to lay down? Did you not watch the video? And the lead time is not 4 years it’s 44 to 46 “weeks” that’s next year 😂 says it on there website
@@jeffbennett596 My best guess was that the bunk storage doors slide. Thanks for confirming. There has to be a relatively large amount of storage space under that bunk. If you don't mind a suggestion... I'd suggest putting a picture on your website with one of the slider doors open to show off the storage space with some relatively large object (sleeping bag) in the picture to help show off the relative size. Also, consider posting the height & width of the storage door access or the size of the space behind (or both) on your site. I really think the storage space this provides is a key selling point (with me at least). I'm not sure how much customization you offer, but I could see myself and others being interested in an external access door providing access to this storage on one or both sides. If you have the ability to provide that, I'm pretty sure you'd have some takers. Good luck with this model. I think you have a winner.
@@tbanthony All great suggestions!!! Thank you for your feedback. We can certainly add something to show scale on our website. The external doors may be something we try later on if we get a client that would like to have it.
Nice. I like the addition of the front bunk. My kids are already too old and too big but my wife and I are considering a teardrop and I feel like most lack enough storage. The bunk and the storage underneath would be perfect. As of the moment, I don’t see this new XT model on your website but I’m sure that’s coming soon.
I’m not really knowledgeable about trailers, I know more about tent camping but I like this. Right off the removable hitch to prevent theft should be on every travel trailer. Is the top strong enough to hold a roof top rack and tent ⛺️ like the ones that go on roof top racks for SUVs? That is kind of the way I’m going but I could pull a small trailer with a 4Runner & have more convenience with the trailer & a dedicated cooking 🍳 space etc. I don’t have to make any decisions until next year but it’s important that I’m comfortable and I can take my Springer Spaniel with me. 🐶👍☮️🌞🏕🌟
Yes, we have installed the Propex HS2000 in our units when requested and our trailers are insulated with 1/2" foam insulation. I hope that helps. Thank you for your comment!
Hi James! Our standard mattress size is 53" x 75" x 4" but if not getting a 5,000 BTU AC unit, we can upgrade that to a 54" x 80" x 4" long mattress with a slight upcharge. Our base model trailers start at $10,450 and our premium model starts at $11,330. You can always go to our website at fantomteardrops.com and enter a quote request to get more specific pricing with selected upgrade options. Thank you!
Hi Jimmy! The height distance from the top of the mattress to the bottom of the book cubby (underneath the cabinets) is approximately 9". Hope that helps!
Yes, I wish we had one in stock to show. The Climateright units have been out of stock for a while now. It seems they are still looking for alternative suppliers for parts due to the US/China trade wars. When they get more in stock, we’ll surely do a video about those! Thanks for your comment!!!
One thing to keep in mind when you diamond plate the front of your trailer...it is rare but it happened to me. Rocks kicked up by my drive wheels hit the diamond plate at just the right angle and velocity, bounced forward and hit the rear hatch glass, again at just the right angle and velocity, and exploded it out. This was about 100 miles beyond the Arctic Circle heading towards the Arctic Ocean in Canada's Yukon and Northwest territories...not many glass shops up there. Long story short, the guy at the glass shop we made it to said he's seen it, rarely, but every time it has been from an armoured trailer front. Now when we know we will be pulling on a lot of dirt/gravel I just tape cardboard protection over the back glass. You just popped into my feed, I must say you make a beautiful trailer...
Hi Metaxa! Thank you for the info. Sorry, you had to experience something like that. We haven't had any issues like that (as of yet) but it's always good to be aware. Thank you so much for your comment and for the lovely compliment on our trailers!
Your teardrops look very nice. I'm curious, what is the price for the teardrop as-shown in this video? Can you alter the galley layout to allow for a fridge slider for a Dometic CFX3 75DZ?
Hi David. The only way to have enough space for your Dometic cooler would be to loose the sink or the stove drawer and storage drawer. We would be more than happy to talk about your options if you would like to give us a call. Also, the total cost for the camper as shown in the video is $15,500. We have all of our available options on our website with pricing if you would like to enter a quote from there. Thank you.
