Hi guys, I get this all the time 😀. I was born in Manchester and moved to Blackburn when I was 3 years old. Blackburn accent is quite strong. Joined the army when I was 15 and shared a room with 2 jocks from Glasgow and a couple of lads from Sunderland. We spent the first 4 weeks nodding at each other. We simply couldn't understand each other! I was stationed in Germany and Norway. When I left the Army after 6 years I moved to Norway mostly because I raced mountain bikes. Met a girl and stayed. My RU-vid channel was started in 2015 as a half hearted mountain bike channel. Last year I built my son a lambretta and decided to delete all the vids except for the scooter/classic mc videos. I got many requests for new videos and here I am today.
Hi, your videos are so helpful that an entusiast beginner or learner can do it himself. In India it is very hard to find a experinced person who can handle and spare time for the vintage beauties. Great work. Greetings.
I fitted one of these earlier this year with a 55 Watt bulb, it’s a much better headlight than standard even when you upgrade the standard one with a better bulb. How we used to manage with the old 6 volt standard Lambretta lights is a mystery, it must have been our youthful eyes .
Rob , love your videos. MB did my RT240 reed and Harry B put the engine together with one of his cranks. I also have a phbh 30 and an Avanti St on the bike. We`ve got a 135 main, 60 pilot , 40 slide and I think the needle is an X13 2nd clip. I have one of Harry`s Pro Porting bellows and a filter sock. I`m just running it in atm but is that anywhere near where you were.
I had the first tank for life they did and really rated it but after mersea island I have developed the dreaded fuel leak im absolutely gutted dont suppose I have any chance of getting it replaced under warranty I bet
Hey Rob, you mentioned the BGM V3 shock that you designed. I've been looking for one for ages, but everyone is sold out. Any idea where I can find one, or when they'll be back in stock?
I know by the way you open them boxes you've done this many times before, cutting away from the hand holding the box is a smart move, found that out the hard way, looking for an old Li I50 to restore, good at body work and paint, but engines are not my strong point, hopefully after i watch you and another guy building engines will give me the knowledge i need, finding a Lambretta with an engine in Ireland will be difficult , plus the smart gits check prices online and ask for stupid money, but i know there's one somewhere waiting for me, even dug out me fishtail that's nearly 40 and looks well cool still, wore better than i did the 90's was hard on the head and body, great watch thanks mate ☘️🍻
bravo Rob, il cavo sarà perfetto, però io non sono riuscito ancora ad ordinarlo, il tuo filmato è molto bello con spiegazioni anche per i principianti ,grazie e a presto, ciao.
That's just how I feel when I ride mine a s3 li 150 with 185 kit , you need a bit of notice to stop or slow down and also the wallowing round corners all part of the experience 😂
Rob there was a guy in Greece remanufacturing those fuel gauges about 8 years ago. I got one but it had a pin hole in the float so would fill with fuel and stop working.
New shocks, new BGM in front with the nice CNC clamps for the top mounting to the forks. If it were mine I'd put an outboard disc brake on the front. Brakes like that have saved my life multiple times. The engine sounds really nice but how are the engine mounts? Overall a very good Series 2 for everyday riding.
What a beautiful spot to open your video!. I have got to get over to Norway someday on a genealogical visit. Good topic should appeal to a wide audience.
Stunning scenery for a ride, love it! - Fab Job Rob, I reckon the owner will be coming back for a full works upgrade next year after he's ridden it out for the season. Sounds lovely ! I've got a similar Scooter and also the RT195 so a little biased.
Tell the owner to stick one of your rear shocks on it , not cheap but quality never is. Upgrading the engine is fine but suspension and brake upgrades to cope with the extra power are vital
That top box will be upsetting the handling. Too much weight behind the back wheel. Lovely sound off the engine now. I’ve recently done a mugello 198 reed motor for a series two and I prefer riding it to my GT240 😂
