Sounds like a chorus effect. Kudos on nailing this so spot on. This guy must have the patience of a saint to learn such dense musical pieces. Incredible playing.
WOW ! I never actually saw what the other worldly Allan Holdsworth played and am amazed by that an even more amazed that this fine Artist learned it flawlessly ! Once again , WOW !
What I've noticed with every guitarist that can play the most impossible licks is their pinky and index are completely stand alone while the middle and ring finger sit in tandem... No idea it does for me but I noticed it
Starting at 1:17 is always my favorite. That section brings tears to my eyes. This was the first Holdsworth song I heard. My philosophy professor in college gave me a bunch of Holdsworth CDs. This was like 15 years ago. Hooked ever since.
YOU.,SIR ARE THE PERSONIFICATION OF MR.ALLAN HOLDSWORTH..YOU KEEP HIS STYLE ALIVE..YOU HAVE BEEN A FAVORITE GUITARIST OF MINE SINCE 1992..THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THE VIDEO....
Deryll Garberl (Difficult Name), you are underappreciated for your great work. You are great and we need to whip your marketing team to get you around the world
I have my original Allan Holdsworth REH VHS tape next to my pedal board near my Yamaha MagicStomp, ain't nobody gonna erase Steve Hunt or Allan from that.
He's done a fantastic job with all these note for note Holdsworth solo transcriptions, but "unique stamp"? How do you figure? He's doing exact for note renditions using a very Allan like tone. It's not intended to be a unique stamp, and isn't; it is an exercise in recreating something as accurately as possible.
FWIW, I’ve had frequent audio glitching/momentary dropout issues with the original Xvive units when using them at home. Might be RF interference from Wi-Fi. So, I always end up going back to cables. Has anybody else experienced this and found a solution?
Yeah, it's necessarily buffered so brighter than a longish cable. Is the battery replaceable? My biggest complaint with wireless stuff recently has been that. If the battery is replaceable excellent. Do you know if you are actually getting 5ms, lower, or higher? Wondering what I can expect into other digital gear/interfaces. Cheers brother, D
Good questions. I don't know if you can replace the battery. I've had the U2 system for several years and it's still going strong but I know eventually the battery will no longer hold a charge.
I wish I could get some equipment like that for a better sound. I would like to get a better interface, that wil take more than one input at a time. I have a $35 interface I got several years ago. If I could get one of those Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen USB Audio Interfaces, I would be good.
Good question! For one, anytime I learn a Holdsworth tune or solo, it's like taking a guitar and music lesson from him. Plus, many years ago, I kept hearing people say, no one can play Holdsworth solos. They are impossible etc... Funnels was my first attempt at playing one of his solos in it's entirety, at tempo. In the past, I would transcribe his stuff but never work up the entire solo to tempo. Once I did that one, it gave me the confidence to do another and another. Besides the learning aspect, it was good for my technique in the sense of having to practice the solo enough times to play it at tempo because if I'm not working on a project, I tend to not play as much and I get rusty. It was also very good for marketing and getting more eyeballs and ears on my videos and ultimately, people buying my courses and albums etc... Another thing I found interesting is some folks telling me "man, I didn't know you were that good!" It's like covering a Holdsworth solo gave me more credibility and validity in their eyes.
@derrylgabel I think it's awesome that your solo work is still extremely unique from Allan's stuff. Allan only wanted everyone to find their voice, but your dedication and attention to detail on his work is amazing. Glad we can be lifted your content in any way Derryl
@@derrylgabel I like that. I feel like I can admire and prefer someone's playing, Like Holdsworth, or Michael Hedges, Al Di Meola, or Jimi Hendrix. But I don't have to deify them and make them to be something that I could never play the techniques they played or get a sound quality like, because they were Gods of guitar. Like ten years ago, I made a comment on a video of Jimi playing Johnny B Goode at Berkeley. And that, that very recording, when I heard it in the eighties, when I was a teenager was a huge influence on me. And that it still sounds great, though I can play like that now. I said that then, and I just found out the last year, I was still getting angry replies how wrong I was to say I could play like Jimi, not only from people that never heard me even play, but that no one could play like Jimi.
@@derrylgabel been watching you for many years and you've not only managed to capture Alan's notes but also the spirit of his music which makes you an even more compelling musician i really appreciate what you do
