My name is Anabel and I have a passion for art that has accompanied me all my life. Even during my school years, I invested every penny in art books to learn more about the fascinating world of artists. This passion inspired me to study painting and graphics, but also computer science to combine my creative and technical skills.
On my channel, I want to share with you my love for art and introduce you to the works and lives of great artists. Since it is important to me that my content is accessible to a worldwide audience, I provide you with subtitles in many different languages. I have chosen English as the spoken language and hope to reach as many of you as possible around the world.
Let's explore the fascinating world of art together and understand the stories behind the great artists. Stay tuned, there is still so much to learn and discover!
@@GreatArtistsExplainedbyAnabel There's a wealth of information on Wikipedia here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustave_Caillebotte. The thing I hated about your article was the voiceover. Could you get a human to voice next time.
Picasso and other extremely famous artists are so often known only for the work they made and not a people in their own right. Thank you for shining a light on the people behind the paintings.
I am very pleased to hear that the artists' lives are exciting. It's always difficult to pick out the most important things from an artist's long life, usually with many trips, for a short video. The next artist I would like to introduce is Guido Reni.
What I particularly liked about his portraits was that he captured such incredibly friendly faces. This week I will be presenting Pablo Picasso next. I hope you enjoy the video.
I dont enjoy roccoco archetecture and so have always ignore the paintings also. If this is indicitive of the era, I need to re-evaluate. Thank you for another great video.
The rococo period is already very playful, but there are also beautiful things to discover here. In this case, fashionable things, but also extensive depictions of the style of living at the time.
Many Thanks. The hand puppets he designed for his son are also exciting .... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CT6DKK6Rwlk.html Next week I will introduce Antoine Watteau.
Thank you very much for the lovely comment. Botticelli's works are simply fantastic and there is always something wonderful to discover in the paintings. By the way, a video about Paul Klee will be released this week.
Interestingly, there are always older artists to discover - it becomes clear how many there are....and I haven't searched in many countries yet. There are still many videos to be produced ...
Somehow, this video slipped past me at first. "The Milkmaid" has always been an exemplary work in my opinion, but seeing "The Art of Painting" really displays Vermeer's incalculable talent. Thank you!
I was also very surprised by the work "The Art of Painting" but I also really like the colors of "Woman Reading a Letter" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woman_Reading_a_Letter_(Vermeer) By the way, the next video is about JAMES McNEILL WHISTLER.
Many thanks! When I created the video, I was totally thrilled too... and then she got so old in that time. But another female artist without children...
Thank you very much for your feedback! Once you see the connection between the works, a fascinating world of connections and influences opens up. Thank you again for your support and interest in art history! My next video is once again about a woman and I was also totally fascinated by her life and works when I made it: Sofonisba Anguissola
I agree wholeheartedly! It is indeed unfortunate that many talented artists never get the recognition they truly deserve. In the next video I present the very famous Titian.
Thank you very much for the lovely comment and best regards to Romania - it's great that my videos are seen all over the world, that's why there are subtitles in 37 languages :-)
I'm really pleased that you liked the Vides. The realism really has an impressive effect, doesn't it? Thank you so much for your positive feedback, it means a lot to me! 😊
Thank you very much for the great comment. Once again, I learned a lot while making the video :-) It's always really exciting. Next week there will be a video on Gustave Courbet ... with some provocative works.
Women so often have a more potent understanding of color and light. Art as a whole suffers for the long history of misogyny. Thank you for another great video!
Thank you very much for the great comment. I also prefer the old masters. I also find the interpretations of old masterpieces by newer artists exciting. By the way, there will be a video about Mary Cassatt next week.
It always amazes me that there could be so many astounding artistic talents the Netherlands. I hardly ever think of that country but they deserve so much credit. Thank you for the excellent video.
Thank you very much for the great praise. Which country do you think of when you think of artists? Probably France, Italy ...? I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
That's right! The shapes and colors of the animals are really beautiful and unusual. By the way, the next video introduces Jan van Eyck and there will soon be additional videos on great masterpieces.
Thank you very much for the great comment. But sometimes it's really confusing who is who :-) Maybe we should make an artist family video one day. The Brüghel family would also be possible.
Enjoying the way you show the whole painting and how they’re juxtaposed against the black background. Thanks again for giving the dimensions of the paintings
Hi, I conducted a survey with over 500 museum visitors and 50 museums about the design of the videos and this resulted in the black background. Thank you very much for your comment. Anabel
Hi, I thought that both cm and inches might be interesting for the global audience. When you paint yourself, you know that the measurements of a work are relevant to be able to imagine the dimension. Thank you very much for your comment. Anabel
Thank you very much for the comment. I always find the creation of the videos very interesting. With every artist there is usually something exciting or unexpected to discover. :-) Anabel
