Breaks my heart everytime I watch this. I have a strong affinity with the Irish people. If it had not benn for the English landlords things could have been different. Scotland
Yes and these same people many of them today's Republicans are against immigrants from Latin America smh! Don't think I'm talking shit because of my surname! My people settled in south Texas in 1585 before this country was even thought of! I didn't swim across no f**** river!
So sad watching this video. I do not think todays people would survive that journey. Not tough enough. It’s sad they had to leave their homeland in the first place. Poor souls ❤❤
Truth of the matter is, had it not been for the US, most of these immigrants never would've had to leave their homelands behind in the first place. America was behind the wars that made their native countries uninhabitable. The table since turned, and the US is now a worse place for the descendants of those Europeans, but most no longer have ties to the old country, don't speak the language, and have little sense of belonging there, so they just yearn after a place they don't really know, but belong to by blood.
We need to find that Beautiful America again. We have been infiltrated by a demonic left that only cares about destroying our country by corrupting our children with their perversion. 🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸
I heard this song for the first time today and knew there had to be a video to go with the poignant message of this song. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us all. So touching.
These were some brave souls who made this treacherous journey across the sea. They helped to make this great country what it is today. God bless them!! Thank you so much for the upload!! This song and video is so touching.
I love that your kids are in the video. So many people would let that stop them from filming, but I’m so grateful you didn’t let because this was so helpful! Thanks!
damn onions! i can't stop crying! my 3 year old is trying to make sure I'm ok. to be able to make that decision to leave all you know in hopes of a better life is so courageous and brave, i don't know of i could make that decision.
I am Japanese. Conflicts of hearts that leave their hometown for beautiful melodies and hope and sadness and mind their hometown. I was immigrated to Brazil in South America with full of Japanese hope. Many people who were frustrated. Only a few people succeeded. So I sympathize with this song.
Tamarah what a beautiful video I felt very emotional watching it. Who is singing the song? In 2008 a friend gave me this song to sing,I had never heard it before. I just loved it and I started researching about Anne Moore.I was moved by her story. I'm going to New York in September and I'll be going to see the memorial on Ellis Island. Is it possible to visit her grave in Calvery in Queens? I just watched the memorial video. Well Done thank you for sharing this. Linda in Sydney NSW Australia
Celtic Woman sang the song, however, the lead vocalist was Chloe Agnew. She left CW in 2013 to pursue a solo career. I have seen her in several shows recently and she often sings this song. She has also meet several descendants of Annie Moore which I'm sure has pleased them all.
The line is 15 years, however, the composer, Brendan Graham, made a mistake because Annie Moore was 17 when she landed on Ellis Island. The mistake might have arose because her two brothers, Anthony and Phillip, were with her and the oldest (Anthony) had just turned 15.
@@johncombs2990 I don't think the mistake was Brendan Graham's; when talk about Annie Moore was on the go first, she was described as 15 years of age, bringing and responsible for her two younger siblings on the trip across the Atlantic. Apparently, her parents both travelled together first to the Us leaving their Annie to follow with the boys. BTW, there are two life-sized statues of Annie in existence, one at the point of embarcation and the other at Ellis island. They are different, the statue in Ellis Island is of Annie alone and the statue in Cóbh, Co Cork, is of Annie and her brothers.
Tamarah. You might be interested in knowing that Celtic Woman's 2016 album "Voices of Angels" includes an updated rendition of "Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears". It's performed by Eabha McMahon. A beautiful rendition by a beautiful singer. :-D
Tamarah. You probably know that Chloe Agnew was the lead singer on this version of the song. She left CW in 2013 for a solo career. I have seen her perform several times recently and she has been singing this as part of her song list. For a new video of her go to ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MOhQfBqwapE.html.
Hi Julie! I would love for you to check out the webinar to understand more about how it works as it isn't a trial kind of program. Here is the link: app.webinarjam.net/replay/451/280bf96a05/2/0
To whom it may concern- We would love to use this video about Ellis Island - New Ground -- Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears, at our Norwegian Heritage Center in Stoughton, WI. We have an auditorium that visitors can watch selected videos on demand. Is it possible for us to get a copy of this to use for public viewing in our Auditorium? Here is the website to our heritage center: www.livsreise.org Also, is there a cost for this request? Thank you, Sara Johnson

No matter how many times I hear this song, I always get tears in my eyes. It is a truly beautiful pair of songs. The images you put with this song made it even more beautiful. My father's parents both came from Portugal in the early 20th Century, though they were both too young to remember it they passed through those famous gates.
It is amazing for sure. What these people endured in their homeland. I'm sure it wasn't easy for them in America either. Annie Moore led quite a tragic life.
This is one of the best videos set to this song. I'd love to see Celtic Woman do this with actors. It would be priceless. This is so touching. My grandmother came alone to America through Ellis Island from Norway, as a young woman. This song and video greatly touched my heart!
They must have heard you (after all these years). When I saw them perform in my city in April 2017 they had a video going in the background with both original photos and actors playing Annie Moore and others.
