I've gone through a parenting series that uses this. It was so valuable. I learned so much about being a parent. I learned how to not escalate and how to control my children's outbursts. More therapists need to utilize this program to help children and parents
This is such a good video show us how to communicate and how to give children a security feeling when they need us. It inspire me both when working and at home when I face to my child. I'll try the security circle when I face to these kind of things and I'm very happy to learn how to get along and taking care of all the children surround me. Thanks so much!

It's nice to know that the out-of-control behavior in the cereal aisle at the grocery store is about how safe and secure the child feels and the support he or she needs for exploring the world by talking things over, not simply a matter of an uninformed demand feeding an undisciplined defiance and willingness to disregard appropriate boundaries ... hmmm. Psychological research conclusions are notoriously shaky. That is why the people over in the physics departments find them entertaining as "science." I suspect that our great-grandparents' conclusions from experience were, on average, just as enlightened if not more so. We could learn much from how animals care for, protect, and discipline their young. How is a lion cub responded to when self-will triumphs?
I attended a mother-baby day hospital program that used this model. I still look back at this often, to remind myself of what I am aiming to achieve as a mother, even when I frequently miss the mark. Thanks for posting!
Making the complex simple and the simple simple once again! Having facilitated many COS classes it is wonderful to see parents grow closer more effective and thoughtful relationships with their children. One 28 year old dad "James Dean" came up to me midway through the course and said "you misled me about this class" peering steely into my eyes, "my little girls are talking to me for the first time but this information has helped me at work and in my adult close relationships". He wanted to help me rename the class to reflect the fact COS can improve all of our relationships!
