I agree that super mutants shouldn’t be forced to become human against their will. But at the same time, I think the research is worth pursuing. That having been said, I wouldn’t have backed Strong in this situation. Then again, I wouldn’t have brought Strong for this. Both because I’d foresee the potential conflict, and also because I just don’t use him as a companion to begin with.
On my first playthrough, I was walking along minding my business and then out of nowhere, I got attacked by "Gus". It was only after eliminating him, that she showed up & then gave that "killed my only friend" line. I didn't even know she was a trader. Before that, I didn't even know she existed. I kept waiting for something to trigger dialogue options or I could say "your attack robot "friend" attacked me first, for just walking through the wasteland," and then maybe give her the offer of going to sanctuary or something... But no it ended there and I wandered on scratching my head like "...another unfinished/bugged quest Bethesda moment I guess."🤷
I guess it’s not a question of if he should or not. It’s a question of if he is going to force his cure on super mutants without their consent. If he intents to I 100% agree with strong. If he doesn’t and wants to leave it up to them then it’s kinda like the X-men 3 cure conversation, let them choose what they want.
THE SHOW ISN'T CANON. It's literally gotten every single plot point, faction, and important dates completely wrong. Listen to Todd Howard if you want but I'm not stupid enough to consider what BETHESDA has to say about fallout when they're responsible for the two worst games in the series.
Most companions: “Aw darn, Diamond City’s mayor is dead” “Well he was trying to worsen Diamond City for the Institute’s agenda, probably better he’s gone” Danse: *G E N O C I D E*
it comes down to this for me. super mutants are like an invasive species, and if they don't outright just kill you, they dunk you in fev to change you into a super mutant. they've never been concerned with anyone else's consent, and I'm not concerned with theirs.
