This is the concert that I will never tire of watching! And all the boys were still together here. When Patrick Simmons was singing his solo song, Pure As The Driven Snow, I played it back twice, and it brought back childhood memories, of when I used to walk way deep onto our neighbors property in the country South, towards the woods where there was a gently trickling brook stream, and sometimes I'd wade in it. Also, at 19:46-19:56, Tom Johnston looks cute, he's getting into the moment, he's feeling the music. That's what a true musician does if they're doing it right, I guess. They follow the music. Right?
So good to remember that they were once a FACE MELTING BAND. 6 guys. 3 drummers. Tiran Porter. 3 amazing voices. 2 killer guitar players. Tommy on fire!
I love old Collectors videos no matter how grainy. Brings back memories. I saw the Poppy Family when they did a show at the Langley High School back in 1969 (or there abouts). I was mesmerized by the great music and great band members.
Anyone looking at Dorman/Caldwell/Evans/Reinhardt from a distance could swear they were seeing Glover/Paice/Gillan/Blackmore in action. Call it "Rod Evans revenge on his former band", but I don't know what would have stopped him from taking them on the road calling themselves Deep Purple, except an injunction from a flaming mad Ritchie Blackmore. As it was, I don't know what kept him from crying "copycat"!
I mean Rhino does a better job with the strat than Blackmore. The tone suits him better. If you listen to Fireball or Machine Head by DP, did no one get a sense on how dry the guitar sounded? Its cuz Ritchie went from a Gibson, which he absolutely melted eardrums with on In Rock... to a strat for the next few albums and tbh, didnt sound as good. Rhino on Cpn Beyond, however, does an amazing job making it sound heavy.
OH GOD MICK LOVED B/W WOMEN TINA WAS PERFECT. AND DON'T BELIEVE TINA WAS "Miss Little Innocent" Having Like kicking her like a football. Too recruit the background singers Tina walked around with a Bull Whip herself. Celebrities used to go to their house and Studio and do "tons of coke" and everything else. I Tina was a book of lies !!! Same as the movie. There are 2 hair weaves to every story. Skinny dancers like Tina had to wear giant "hair weaves" 😆😆😆😂😂🙄🙄🙄 "Love Your Hair Weave May I Honor It"
This is the concert I “thought” I was going to see in 1975….but instead I saw some guy I didn’t know sitting at a piano….and no Tommy. I thought WTF? Well at least we have this to thoroughly enjoy!
So good to listen to Jason , and I remember his little brother Lou that I knew in Edmonton Alberta Canada , and I only wish i could have talked to Lou just one more time from England , but I couldn't find him ! Jason was the reason Lou worked so hard and achieved so well , God rest his soul , he was a great guy 🙏❤🎼🥁🎸🎹
Google has no translation for the word "Gershatzer" yet. Anyone have any idea what it means? And, that is still me favorite album cover of all time and I'm 67 years old now..
