Jesus, this mission is just 100% rng. At ign min 32, the zerg had already destroyed half the cannons at bottom left and bottom right.. That's 1.7 billion. Not near 2.2. Legit all my energy batteries are at 0%, all cannons destroyed.
How I won this mission on brutal, the noob 20IQ way: spend every single mineral on the army and take everything down except their main base because it's hard to siege it. Place bunkers/army all around their base so he can't escape and harass you. Wait until junkyards automatically produce minerals and collect them (it takes forever).
as some other pointed out, this one as well as the protoss ones (zealot push) seem bugged, i've played 6 matches trying to get these achivements (in both custom and versus modes) but so far none worked, i even used WoL and HoS maps, including the overgrowth map as shown in the video, and i successfully got 20 zerglings at 4min13 mark which should meet the criteria (255 secs === 4min15), but i never got this achievement. very strange. and in case anyone asks, yes i'm talking about the in game time which is faster than real time i'm aware of that tnx. u can't even say "the description is wrong it's not 255sec but 2min55" etc etc, bcz in LoTV ladder map i tried this and got 24 zerglings by 2min55 mark in game, still didn't get the achievement
Doing unrealistic unit vs unit comparisons is stupid. Firstly, if you know theyre massing units, why aren't you utilizing either widow mines or raven antiarmor missiles? Why arent you pre-splitting? I can guarantee you that if you manage to land 2-3 AA missiles on either clump, the other will absolutely destroy it.
I worked in Japan for 8 years some of my workmates had Kiwi accents. I like all of your stuff. I tried to be as good as you. I reckon I'll try again to do "Rendezvous" (that's a French word) on Brutal.
I watched this like 10 times and still had major issues lol, idk if it's some patch difference or something, I had to be constantly save-scumming almost every encounter, quick saving only when I got out of encounter with at least like 80-90% troops alive so I don't fall behind.
While this IS a neutral battle, unfortunately Vikings have better upgrades than Phoenixes. Actually, it's only because the Co-op/Campaign version has upgrades better than the Campaign Phoenixes. LOTV Phoenixes have double gravity beams that allows them to shoot while using the beams at the same time. LOTV Vikings just have AOE and extra range.
@@quanghungtran3581 Thor is not great against stalker, it over kills a lot and takes extra damage from stalker. Muta with Thor is not a fair comparison, muta is not supposed to trade well again any unit. It trades even agsint carrier. It great agsint void ray, cause void ray sucks!!! Phoenixes can't shoot up , so yes It great against brood lord. I think thor sucks agaasint BC.
@@quanghungtran3581 I was thinking of TvP and I am not counting unit that can't shoot down and a stupid unit that no one use. Unless you have perfect spit againt carriers, yes thor does suck against carrier, so I stand correct.
@@owenthailand Then clarify that is for TvP before making broad claims. Your "updated" claim of Thor sucking in TvP except against Tempest is still wrong. I recommend putting on the LOTV unit tester mod and putting equal supply of thor vs any stargate unit + any ground unit except Immortal. See who wins.
It helpes that the ghosts made a wall from the top to the bottom of the map. They didn't get surrounded on top like they did in the fight before so less hydras could attack at once.
Honestly I wouldn’t even mind if ghosts did a lot of dps with normal attacks. You know, Terran are glass cannons and all that. But why tf do they have so much health, they’re in light tactical armour but have twice the health of a marine
Would be interesting if we knew it was a total food or a total cost comparison or something else (another comment says something like this too, but I think these are the clearest criteria)
If the outcomes of fights would be almost an exact draw that would allow us to draw some interesting conclusions as well (like grunts are more cost effective than footies), but such things are not clear from the current setups
*lol* You actually allowed them to breach your entrance defences the FIRST night? When it's still easy? *lol* Make that BOTH northern entrances! You were sooo lucky you didn't get crushed there. Seriously, a single bunker at each entrance is NEVER enough. And you need to place them so that the stream of infested gets hit by flamer fire from 2 bunkers BEFORE they reach either bunker. Most maps, placing of bunkers doesn't matter that much, but on this one, put them wrong and you might as well not have it at all. When you rebuilt, the uppermost bunker on the NE is mostly out of range, while the eastern bunker on the NW entrance starts firing late. "none of that stuff matters" Seriously? You just let them destroy a lot of your EXPENSIVE buildings? Not to mention that they breached your NW entrance again. Even after you've destroyed so many infested buildings. You could have just placed the bunkers better, along with 2-3 bunkers in the south and then made sure to have them manned and you would never have had any entrance breached. What if you did some accidental misclick with your army and it got wiped out or heavily damaged? Then your base would have fallen easily. Try playing this map without reapers. And you're only allowed to attack outside of base during night. Now THAT is a fun challenge. Or just do not attack outside of base, and see how long you can survive. Or just wait 10 or so nights before you're allowed to go outside.
Why you pick 60 v 36 ? is it based on total HP of both being very close ? or did you "do the math" and compile an equal aggregate of HP, Armor, and damage ? [post edit] you cheated on second one b/c you semi-micro managed the footies.
Just completed this mission without Vikings and before making Heaven Mission, just to get the rare dialogues with Doctor Hanson. Never occured to me until now...
For anyone trying to do the 10 year anniversay achievement: Void Corruptions killed by allies do count, unfortunately. So you need to do the same of this video just make sure neither you or your allies kill any more Void Corruptions. However you can safely kill Void Rifts (the ones that constatnly spawn enemies).
i played warcraft 2,StarCraft and warcraft 3 pretty hard core. When sc2 was released i never bothered getting deep in it like i did with the others. The reason was that i hated the baneling so much. it just ruined the entire game for me. its just such a stupid unit imo.
