When I was running derbies back in the 80's there were no seperate classes. My local derby ran a show on Saturday night of around 10 heats with 12 cars in each. Another show on Sunday afternoon for any non-winners still running and any fresh cars that showed up. Then another show Sunday night for anyone who could still limp out there. At the end there were around 24 winners so they ran 2 semi features. A friend won his heat Sunday night so he didn't have much time to work on his car. They closed the big wooden gate to the track as he pulled up for his semi. He asked the guy at the gate to open it and he refused. My friend was so pissed he threw his helmet at the gate and it split in half. The cars were a lot tougher back then, but maybe not the helmets.
Didn't tech let you know your fuel can is leaking...??? Wtf... i wouldn't let that happen when I get fuel for my lawn mower... let alone a damn demo car... you need to learn the basics of engines and safety before you enter another demo derby.... that bomb could have harmed more people than you... and also the officials trying to save you from the car.bomb you engineered... The metal on metal from your poor firewall fab job is enough to cause a spark to send that rig sky high...
